Bret did an excellent job in all respects. When he first came out to begin the project we discovered that one of the metal columns he was supposed to build around had shifted. He could have ignored the problem and built a stone column around the defective column. However, instead he recommended replacing it, even though this would be an inconvenience for him and require rescheduling around my rebuild of the metal columns. Once he was able to start on the project he worked long hours, cleaned up nicely at the end of each day (masonry can be pretty messy) and did an excellent job. There were some delays due to the stone selections being delayed from the stone yard, not Bret's fault in anyway. As a matter of fact he encouraged me to call the yard themselves to see if some pressure from the end customer could help. I appreciate how patient he was in with coordinating stone selection with the yard, tolerating our delays, and working with some minor changes I requested. At the same time he had excellent suggestions for how to make the columns look their best. My only concern was the price, during our initial discussions the price was lower. In fairness to Bret we did select a more expensive stone and the size grew slightly. I'm sure in the end the price was fair. Bret stuck by his quote even with our delays that required additional visits and rescheduling. I would use Bret again any time, a true professional!
