Footprints was very easy to work with. They were very punctual both for the estimate and the actual work. The guys laying the floor did it very fast and efficient. No mess. I would definitely have them work on anything at the condo again.
Description of Work: I had Footprints install a laminate floor in a bedroom. I live on a second floor of a condo building and was very concerned with the sound below. Footprints helps to test the sound on the flooring and then help me to acquire additional cork flooring to install before the laminate.

We installed our own hardwood but decided to hire a contractor to sand and finish the floor. We feathered in our old HW with the new HW. The job was to refinish the entire floor that was now all hardwood. We had 3 contractors provide bids. We decided to go with Footprint Floors based on a couple of factors. They only required 25% up front deposit. The remainder of the payment was only given after the job was done to our satisfaction. Also, Dan provided us a quote on the spot and we didn't have to wait days. Compared to the other bids we received, one was way too much, and the other was similar in cost but required 50% up front. After we contracted Footprint Floors, I ran not an issue with the remainder of my HW installation I was doing myself. I contacted Dan and ask if he could finish it for me at additional cost. He was able to help me out and had one of his crew install the remainder of the HW at a reasonable cost. I was very happy with this and it looks great. His lead crew member Geoff was very experienced, handled everything and didn't rush the job, which I really appreciated. I wanted it done right and allow enough time in between poly coats. He did a fantastic job and we really love the end result. I will be hiring them again in the future when I require maintenance or new work. Very pleased.

The person that came out to give me an estimate was on time and gave me an immediate estimate that included the entire job I had told him about. I had 6 boxes of wood from the original install. I asked the estimator if I had enough wood and he said yes. I decided to use Footprint Floors and they were available pretty quickly. I realized that after I got my estimate that I left off the installation of the toe kick and trim for the wood flooring. The estimator said he would come out and give me an estimate the next week before the job started. He did not. During the job I talked to Jeff and let him know I needed to add the toe-kick and trim. The other thing that was discovered during the job was that I did not heve enough wood. I had to go buy wood while the job was in progress in the middle of the week and work. I would have prefered to go buy the wood before the job was started (on a weekend). After the job was semi finished Jeff came out and gave me an estimate for the toe-kick and trim which I accepted. The part of the original job that still needed to be completed was to clean off of the tile of what I thought was the grout. The workers came out and installed the toe-kick and trim. They also put down more "sealant". It turns out they were using the Grout Booster that was supposed to be put into the grout as a sealant. The Grout Booster right on the lable says it is not supposed to be put on the tile. The Grout Booster ruined the tile by puting a thin film all over the tile. I complained to Jeff he came out and saw the problem. The workers came back out and tried to clean the tile. They said they needed sealant for the tile. I told them the tile (glazed porcelan) did not need the be sealed. They said it does now. The process they used to try and clean off the film on the tile had removed the glaze. I went and bought sealant. They put it on but the tile still had a film all over it. Jeff came out we discussed the problem. He asked me wht I thought the solution was I told him I wanted the tile replaced. He went back talked to the President of the company about solutions and they came to the same conclusion I did. The workers came back out and tried to seal the tile AGAIN with "GOOD SEALANT". They first used high gloss sealant. Jeff saw that and knew that was not what I wanted. The went and bought semi gloss and tried to cover the high gloss sealant. The high gloss was a seven year sealnat and semigloss was a three year sealant. I rejected the solution and they came out and replaced the tile. The job is now finished and is highly satifactory. It only took 6 trips and a lot of agravation. If the first job had been done correctly I would be giving them an outstanding but it was not.
Description of Work: I have a great room with wood flooring in the den and tile in the kitchen and dinning area. I furnished the tile, grount and wood flooring. Footprints Flooring furnished the labor, mastif and hardybacker for the installation. The wood flooring was straight forward just reinstall Brazilian Cherry Wood that was damaged by water from my washing machine.

I had to rate my overall experience for the service as D (Bad). Although the company is professional and responsive, what started off bad, continued to get worse. The contractors never showed up for the first date they were scheduled. I had to reschedule another date. When they did complete the tile job, they did not correctly replace and seat the toilets in the bathrooms that were tiled and I had water damage in my kitchen ceiling as a result. The company was responsive and repaired my kitchen ceiling. Several weeks later, one piece of tile already came loose in a bathroom. Again, the company was responsive and fixed the loose tile. Finally, I was required to purchase the tile, grout and plumbing materials for the job, as the price quoted was for installation only. I am fine with this. Unfortunately, I had to purchase 2 sizes of each toilet plumbing lines because I wasn't sure of the correct size. I asked the contractors to return the extra ones that were not the right size so I could return them to the store from which I purchased them. I never received them back.

We had a small window of time to have the work done because we were selling our house. They were able to complete the majority of the work in the window of time we needed. They did a great job sanding the floor. However, the stain under the fridge did not match the rest of the floor and the stain was not evenly applied on the kitchen floor.. We had them come out two more times to fix it. They were unable. I am sure that they would have come out over and over until we were satisfied, but after three times we were done. The house had sold. We have also noticed that the new finish is not very durable. It scratches very easily.

We are happy with the overall result and will recommend them to other customers. The proposal and quote were done professionally and accurately without surprises. Preparation work was done according to schedule. The installers were experienced and took good care of the working area. They also did their best to minimize dust contamination and accidental damages. Minor imperfections were corrected promptly upon request after the completion of the main work. Thank you Tyler/Dave/Chad!

They are unprofessional, they use inexperienced technicians/installers, they promise things in the bidding process and dont include them in their work, they cut-corners, their quality is low.
See our hundreds of five star reviews on google, Team Dave Logan, Service Magic to determine a more accurate position on our quality. There are industry standards which were more than met on this project, there are Footprints Floors standards which far exceed industry standards (which were also met) and then there are this customer's standards which are best defined as completely unreasonable. He had two nails holes and a puddle. Both were fixed and he demanded a $500 discount for his inconvenience on having to have these fixes done. They took five minutes. No joke. That was the project. 700 ft hardwood install, 400 ft sand, 100 ft tile install and he had two small fixes that were fixed.

We contracted for grade 1 2 1/4" maple unfinished planks. Grade 2 and better was delivered. When I called to get the correct grade wood, Mike Burke (the sales rep) tried to convince me that grade 2 is the same as grade 1.He even had someone from Denver Hardwood call me to tell me I was wrong. He finally agreed to get the correct grade, came out a few days later, tested the moisture content of the wood and pronounced it ready for installation. The installer was great, but young and not experienced with maple. A few days after the installation was complete, the wood split apart leaving gaps of 1/16 inch every few boards. Trying to convince us that it is normal, not to have a sealed floor, Mike eventually agreed to let the installer come back and fill the cracks and refinish the floor. Again, there are many spaces in the seams. We will not have them out again and will have to get the floor refinished by a real professional.

Maple is rated using the Canadian rating system. That's just the way the industry has it set up. The Canadian system has it where a US #1 grade is the same as their 2nd and better. This information is readily available over the internet or through the NWFA hotline. Mike made the mistake of writing #1 grade (US grading) on the estimate. The wood was delivered with 2nd and better written on it. #1 grade and 2nd and better are the same quality of wood, just different names. She didn't believe that to be true. The vendor (who sells and delivered the wood) called to inform the customer of the issue and the nomenclature difference. The National Wood Flooring Association got involved and tried to explain the same thing. She wouldn't listen to anyone. We gave her a free upgrade to the more expensive select grade (or 1st and better maple using the Canadian naming). In the end she was unhappy because there wasn't enough character in the maple. Ironically, that's because we upgraded her to the select grade. Select has less character than #1 by definition. It was an amazing experience for our company to witness. We have hundreds of accrued experience in the industry in our company along with access to identified experts (vendors and the NWFA) and yet we still couldn't work through her demands. We're still not sure what grade of wood she actually wanted for her project. Take her words for what you will. We've done 7000 projects to date to great success.

Description of Work: We had Footprints floors out for an estimate on refinish and repair for a small bedroom, perhaps 12 x 12. The estimate was 450.00, and they said they could not replace the boards because they wouldn't match. The floor is plain red oak, available at any home depot. It should be fairly easy, we had our living room done a couple years ago and they matched fine. I could not remember who had done it, so was looking for someone else. We did not hire them for the work.

The above description covers it.
Description of Work: I had Bryan Park's Footprints Floors refinish my hardwood entry and powder room. There was an area under the front door that was elevated due to water damage before we bought the house and there were several badly damaged boards that needed to be replaced. The first contractor Bryan sent refinished the floor in a much lighter shade than I had chosen and the finish was flat instead of the semi-gloss I requested. Also three of the replaced boards were greenish, off in color. I contacted Bryan and he sent another contractor out to replace the greenish boards, strip the floors again and then refinish them. This time the finish was the semi-gloss I requested, but the color was still too light. I called Bryan again and he sent out another contractor who once again stripped and refinished the floors. This time the color was much closer, but the finish was satin rather than semi-gloss. I decided to live with the satin finish and did not call Bryan for another redo. Had I called him, I feel confident he would have once again had the floor redone. Bryan obviously lost a good deal of money on this small project that proved to be a costly one for him. I just couldn't ask him to have the floors stripped and refinished yet another time!

Unfortunately the original tile had been installed so poorly and subfloor glued to the original floor that it was a challenge to remove it all and my only complaint was the dust that resulted. Once that was taken care of, Kyle did an amazing job laying the tile. It took longer then anticipated but Kyle was willing to work evenings and weekend according to our schedule to complete. Steve was a great project manager, too. Definitely laid back and low pressure. Both are knowledgable and professional. We couldn't be happier. We love are new floor!! We plan on having them refinish our wood floors this summer.
Description of Work: we had porcelain tile installed in the kitchen, both 12x12 and 6x6 in a hopscotch pattern. The area is approximately 135 sq feet. We also had the old tile removed and new sub floor installed. The house is a 1940 Tudor in Park Hill.

Overall I am very happy with both the quality and price of the work. Did get an estimate and he held to it.
Description of Work: We had Formica Laminate flooring put in our kitchen/dining area. I am very happy with the total look. I ended up with Brazilian Chestnut which is almost a dark walnut look. After I figured out how to clean it I am totally happy. I use Bruce's Hardwood cleaner and nothing else. It took 2 1/2 days. I did have to call Ty (installer) back to fix a transistion piece and replace two pieces of trim at the threshhold. He came back out with no problem.
Best prices around!!! Great service, very professional, on budget, on time, great quality. I would highly recommend them!

Company owner gave us an estimate and agreed to a start date for hardwood floor re-coat. He and a helper arrived on time and moved furniture, as agreed on. Did work and cleaned up well. The next day, he and his helper came to replace furniture, but I noticed a difference in the finish in parts of the room. After loking it over, the owner said he's do the work over and apologized for the problem - which did not appear to be due to workmanship, but the product itself. He refinished the floor and the finish looked good, but we noticed some drips and some areas where fibers and grass got into the finish. I was at work when my wife went over our concerns. He said that he'd correct them and we paid in full as he'd seemed very reliable and was working to correct the problem. After he made an attempt to fix the areas of concern, we noticed that an area in the front foyer and hallway had more fiber, grass and other foreign material in the finsh than before. When my wife pointed this out, he behaved unprofessionally with her and said we were being too particular. We do expect high quality and we think we'd have gotten it if he hadn't failed to clean the floor and remove his shoes before doing the work. Our impression is that he'd lost his profit and was trying to minimize any additional costs, but actually wound up making himself more work. I called him back and we talked over our concerns. He apologized for letting his frustration show and agreed to send someone to correct the items. We are currently working to arrage this, so the jury is still out on whether this project will be completed with a quality we're satisfied with. They appear to be making an effort to make this right. At this point, I would not use them again, but I may change my mind once the job is completed.

Company owner made a bid, signed a contract, and agreed to a start date for heated tile floor. We purchased tile & supplies, arranged work schedules to be available. He called Tuesday night to say he would not be doing the job, scheduled for Thursday morning. Gave conflicting and contradictory excuses why. We arranged for him to return deposit at specific time so we could talk to him, he agreed, then left check under our mat at a different time.
