Description of Work: Steamway installed carpeting in 2010 in our living room, dining room, family room and hallways, upstairs and downstairs, for 6000.00 plus (for approximately 1000 sq feet). The carpet was Mohawk Berber and had a 10 year warranty. We followed all manufacturer's recommendations on cleaning and care but within 4 years the carpet was worn out both upstairs and down. When I had the owner come out and evaluate, he agreed it was worn out. He did contact Mohawk carpeting and they sent an "independent" carpet evaluator (whom they paid) to take pictures and investigate. He arrived 1/2 hour early and spent and hour telling us about all the famous people he had met doing this job. He only took pictures of my husband's motorized scooter which sits on the lower level for ease access to the driveway from our bi-level house. He uses a light weight regular wheel chair upstairs for mobility. There were no pictures sent of the upstairs very worn areas. Mohawk and Steamway blamed his wheeled device for the wear, even though he would have been walking on the carpet more if he was mobile. Both Mohawk and Steamway refused to honor the warranty because of the use of a wheelchair. We will never use Steamway again or buy a Mohawk carpet. Those restrictions are intended for high volume wheelchair use, not home use. We will never use Steamway again or buy another Mohawk carpet.

Many things went wrong and we are extremely unsatisfied. If you need a few examples, they did not order enough tile to complete the job - twice. They did not order enough carpet pad for our floor. They did not order enough carpet for our floor. The island breakfast bar side was cut 3 inches too short We received a whole 100 dollars off for the inconvenience of not being able to use it very well as a breakfast bar. They did not remove the nails holding the duct that was to be moved before laying the subfloor and tile over it. The electrical outlet in the island had to be professionally redone by an electrician because it was not to code. I could go on, but chose not to.

See above. They never even called let alone show up. They were given the information 3 times and still no response. My carpet is a loss - for which I hold them partly responable. Had they shown up after the first call it may not have been left soaked for more than 24 hours. I had to call another company to see if they could help. I am very disapointed in the service, I had used steamway on other jobs for our rental properties and been very happy but it is unlikely I will ever use them again or recommend them. They advertise as a service to provide assistance in emergencies such as this but that is obviously not the case.
Description of Work: I phoned them at 9:27 am and asked for emergency clean up from a flooded basement. By 5:43 pm they had still not made contact. I called again and expressed this was an emergency clean up. By 9:12 am on the next morning still nothing. I called them again and said this is an emergency clean up they said they would have someone call me right away. It is now 9:34 and I am still waiting.

The owner came to give me an estimate, he was on time, professional and assured me that the pet and other stains on the very light carpeting would come out. I had one other estimate that was slightly lower, but the company was very casual, just wrote the amount on a business card, so I chose Steamway. The estimate was very detailed and specific. The crew arrived on time and did a very good job with the stains. They got everything very clean and looking good. The only thing that was not completely remedied was the odor from some of the pet stains, but the crew warned me of that during the procedure. I felt the crew spent time on my home and did not rush through to make another appointment. The sofa and the area rugs were also well done and nicely cleaned. I was pleased with the experience and was happy to use a local company.
Description of Work: I had wall to wall carpeting and stairs cleaned, two area rugs and a sofa.

Austin and Ryan showed up exactly when their office said they would. They set right to work and completed everything in 2 hours and 45 minutes. They did not leave our home messy in any way, and their process removed all rain and excess humidifier condensation stains from window coverings and miscellaneous grime from the upholstered seats and backs of our kitchen chairs. the window coverings look good as new. A huge advantage to using Steamway instead of another supplier is that they clean the blinds on site. Other cleaning companies take down the blinds and don't return them cleaned for two weeks, depriving you of privacy, sun screening, dark screening or whatever the blinds do for you.
Description of Work: At our home using their truck-mounted equipment, Steamway cleaned 14 Hunter Douglas Duette® window coverings and 4 upholstered chairs.
