plumbing, water heater repair
+ 0 moreThe company we ended up going with for this repair we found on Angie's List. That company called me multiple times to let me know when they would be arriving, which was during a huge snowstorm. I had to call Raven twice to get them to come perform the initial inspection. They then sent out a technician who was unfriendly and seemed inexperienced. He just went through his "checklist" and then left. I had to call Raven and ask for the report (which didn't come until 7/22/13) and the office secretary emailed it to me.
Description of Work: Our Home Warranty company sent the provider out to perform a maintenance walk through of our home (6/30/2013). A few weeks later we had to call another plumber to fix a broken shower valve because Raven wanted $900-I had it fixed by that other plumber for $190 (7/22/13) The plumber who fixed the shower valve noticed a hole in our hot water heater, which Raven never noticed. The warranty on the water heater expired after three months, so we now have to install a brand new hot water heater. Since the inspection, I've had three other plumbers out that told me the issue is at least 6 months old. The Home Warranty company wanted to sent Raven back out to replace the water heater reattach our recirculating pump (11/22/2013). Raven wanted $453 more than the Home Warranty was paying them plus a $85 service call fee for a total of $510.97 out of pocket. Three other plumbers told me that my out of pocket expense should only be $75, which is what I ended up paying to a different plumber that was approved by my Home Warranty.

Description of Work: I used Raven Heating and Backflow a couple of days ago. They put a toilet and sink in my shop. They also put in a sewer line about 11/2 years ago.
