Our services include new and remodel construction projects and service work. EC Electric is headquartered in Grand Junction and has additional office/shop facilities in Avon, Colorado. They gave us (our general contractor) an estimate of 12,000, and billed us for $30,000. They did not put in any change orders, nor did they notify us of the increase in cost. They expected us to "know", and said they would put a lien on our house if we did not pay, since they had my signature that they performed the work. I signed thinking they were working under the original estimate of $12,000. I would recommend that anyone using these unethical people think twice. Make sure they itemize what they do EVERY DAY. Do not trust their word,and do not sign ANYTHING with out a price attached to it. These people are dangerous and made it so we didn't have a legal leg to stand on by tricking us with the original estimate.
Description of Work: Our kitchen was remodeled and the wiring was obsolete and updated per regulations.

EC Electric did do a project at this address. However, it was a 200 amp service upgrade in which we changed out the service and panel to the house. This work was done in October of 2006 and paid for promptly by the customer in 15 days. The total bill for the service upgrade was less than $2,700.00. EC Electric firmly believes this customer has the wrong contractor listed in this report: 1) The service upgrade we completed was in October of 2006, not September of 2008. 2) We are not a general contractor. We are an electrical contractor. 3) We did not work in their kitchen. We were on the outside of the house, replacing their electrical service. 4) Our total bill was less than $2,700.00. This is nowhere near the $12,000.00 quoted or $30,000.00 paid being reported by the customer. We kindly ask this customer to review their records and list the correct contractor that performed work on their kitchen remodel. It was not EC Electric and would appreciate our name being removed from this report.
