I'm not happy with Charter as I am not getting my money's worth. I'm paying over $120.00/month and some TV channels and internet aren't that great. Way to expensive! People just joining get service for 29.95 per month for what I am getting. They get it for over a year and mine just goes up and not just a little bit. I'm on a low fixed income so can' afford much for entertainment. My biggest thrill is going to the VA for my flu shot and to have my blood pressure taken.
Description of Work: Internet kept going out. Had me plug and unplug. Checked at their end. still plugging and unplugging two or more times a week.

They're now Optimum, or Charter...I can't keep up. Anyway, I've used them (very happily) since they were Bresnan. Our most recent encounter was when the TV cable at my Dad's house refused to cooperate. They tried to help on the phone. When that didn't work, they sent someone out first thing in the a.m. and the problem was taken care of. They've always been speedy like that, in my experience. And friendly. And polite.
Description of Work: They made a repair to a "faulty filter" outside (no charge).

around 5 I called to see where the installer was then they told me I was not on the schedule then they called me back and said oh yes I will get a tech there right away then two guys showed up looking like they just got out of prison and did not know what they were doing the box in the 2nd room did not work for more than 15 minutes after they left I called and they said sorry you will have to wait for a week before we can come replace it

An excellent service visit, no surprises or disappointments at all. The only complaint that I have is all the hidden fees. When i called to order I was told my bill would be $89.99 a month well now its $135.99 a month because I was not told that they charge a fee to use a digital recording system, that only works in one room. And that each room would require an additional fee for another cable box. Other than that the service is good, the internet has a few burbs every now and them as well as the cable but that is to be expected from time to time. .
Description of Work: The serviceman did and excellent job with the installation and setting us up with how to operate everything. The serviceman showed up on time and well dressed i his uniform. Informed me of everything he was going to do, and then went to work. If I had any questions he answered them. He also made sure we knew how to operate everything before he left. Excellent service visit.

They installed my modem incorrectly, and it took months to get it fixed, and even then that was by accident, and during those months I was insulted by their "help line" people, ignored generally, and rudely dismissed. I wrote an extremely nasty letter when they finally got my installation correct, and they did offer financial recompense, which I declined because I was so tired of dealing with them. Once they had fixed my problem, I had no further complaints other than the lack of choice (and of pricing) in high-speed internet.
Description of Work: Originally, I had the $99.00 internet/cable/phone deal. As soon as I could (after the "deal" ran out), I switched to high-speed internet only, opting to live without cable TV and to get my phone through Vonage.

I had several problems with poor reception of the cable, and a complete loss of internet service. I made service calls at least 3 times over a 1 year time period. The service calls were attended to promptly and the techs worked hard to fix the problems, but eventually I was forced to drop the internet service altogether. I never had reliable internet, and service was very rare. The techs did their best, but I believe the service to my area was not capable at providing reliable service to my area.

Great! Usually when a company gives you a 3-hr time frame for when they should be there they show up in the 3rd hour. Bresnan has been very prompt - within the first hour. Their tech support over the telephone is also prompt and professional. I only use Bresnan's cable internet, but I'm very happy with their service overall!
Description of Work: I reported Intermittent problems with my cable internet service. A tech was scheduled to arrive the next day and arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule, fixed the problem, and even answered a few questions about cabling I wanted to do in my house. Very professional service. They had to come out before when somebody backed-up into the cable junction box in the alley a few years ago. They were also prompt and professional then.
