+ -1 moreI researched several possible available plumbers using Angie's List, the yellow pages, and the internet. First Choice seemed like a good first plumber to call. They were responsive, and the price seemed quite fair. They arrived the same day, and had the correct 52 gallon replacement water heater. As mentioned above, the water heater was defective, in that the top thermostat had a strange failure mode that kept the water from getting to the correct temperature, after several hours had elapsed. ( Initial indications were that the water was heating properly, and the plumbers left thinking everything was fine.) When I called after a few hours, describing the problem of only warm water, they suggested adjusting the temperature setting, and asked that I call them in the morning, to let them know either way. That night, I was able to determine that there was a problem with the upper thermostat. When I called them about the problem, they were very responsive, and came out promptly with a replacement thermostat that fixed the problem. Everything has been fine since. There was no extra charge for the second service call. I was quite happy to have discovered a good and honest plumber using the services of Angie's list.
Description of Work: First Choice responded very quickly when asked about replacing a failed (leaking) water heater. They estimated the price of the job, and arranged to come the same day, if a new electric water heater was available. They arrived at the estimated time, and competently replaced the defective water heater. They were prompt, and efficient. When the new water heater did not properly get to the correct water temperature. I called them about possible reasons. They were very professional in their response, and suggested things to try. They encouraged me to call the next day, regardless of the results I got, to allow them to either "relax" or do more, if necessary. When I called them the next morning, with information that pointed to a very unusual failure of the top thermostat, they came out right away with a replacement thermostat, and fixed the problem. Their response showed very good knowledge and professionalism. After the field repair, the new water heater is working fine. They said this is the first time they have ever needed to replace an upper thermostat in a new electric water heater, after many years of doing this kind of work. I would definitely recommend First Choice to anyone needing plumbing service. I also feel that they are very honest, and caring.

+ 0 moreThey give us an estimate of a flat rate for the job. We found them to be professional, reliable, very courteous, friendly and helpful. They showed up when they said they would, did the job when they said they would do it. Sometimes when we get a quote people tag on added charges but with them there were no added charges. They did the work for the quoted price.
Description of Work: We used First Choice Plumbing and Heating to help us with some outdoor water valves and plumbing. Earlier they even cleared a clogged drain. We also needed some drainage pipes within the house re-routed which they did for us.

+ -1 moreHe does wonderful quality of work. We have a tile roof, and we had a windy day which blew some tiles off the roof and broke our window. He actually paid for the window. You also get to work with the owner.
Description of Work: He did our roof. We have also used him to clean out our gutters. He has checked our roof and repaired it a few times.
