 + -1 moreWhen originally contacted they did not have an opening for the week that I wanted to move. I checked back a few days later and they had an opening, while not on the day I wanted it was during the week that I was moving. They came out and surveyed the amount and type of furniture we were moving, talked with me about the care and handling of the furniture and protection of the house such as laying pads on floors to protect them, padding staircase railings, etc., and gave me an estimate. It was estimated that we would need two trucks, however only one was going to be available. I went ahead and scheduled because knowing only one truck would be available they discussed a plan with me to ensure the larger and heavier items that I would not be able to move myself would be moved by their crew. I also was impressed that they use only their own crew and not day laborers. The day prior to the move they called me because we were forecast for snow on my move day. They asked if I had any flexability to reschedule which I did not, so they explained the care they would take with my furniture to protect it from damage. They also had a second truck available due to a snow cancellation which they said they would not charge me for. On the day of the move the guys were great. They were courteous, friendly, and professional. They worked nonstop, listened to instruction I gave about access to the new home which helped them load the trucks efficiently. They were careful with my furnishings, most of which were antiques, and with both houses. My furniture had zero damage and there wasn't even a scuff to a wall or doorway. It was a great move and would highly recommend them.

 + -1 moreThey arrive a few minutes early and began working right away after a quick walk through. The only break they took was a short lunch and they finished by 4:40P with was right on their estimat. It took two trips with one truck and three men to complete our 4 mile move.
Description of Work: These guys were outstanding from start (Brians personal visit and estimate) to finish (Matt, Tim & Josh were our personal movers). They were on time, responsive and professional during the move and the move came in right at their estimated cost. The also were quick to respond and cover the cost of replacing a dining room chandelier that accidently got damaged. I highly recommend Your Personal Movers.

A lot of the other moving companies gave estimates over the phone without actually seeing how much stuff was in the house, how much would need to be moved. While their estimates were probably close, I felt better knowing that YPM actually saw what was involved. The day of the move snowed (of course), but other than a slightly delayed start, it didn't slow down the crew. They worked extremely hard and completed the move a few hours under what was initially estimated. Finally, they followed up after the move to make sure everything went well. I don't plan on moving again for awhile, but when I do I'll call YPM.

 + -1 moreThese folks were wonderful. They arrived on time, did exactly as we asked and then some. The team was courteous, professional and knowledgable. The helped to set up the furniture and beds which was more than we expected. We have some very heavy pieces of furniture and tools and they knew excatly how to handle things with the necessary care. After everything was unloaded they checked back to see if there was anything else they could help us with. We used movers in Phoenix to load the trucks but the folks at Your Personal Movers were far superior in work ethic and know how. They even followed up with us by phone after the work was completed each time to ensure that everything was done to our satisfaction. Awesome team!

 + -1 moreWe recently used Your Personal Mover for our move, which took place the day before Thanksgiving. They were able to schedule us in with quite a short notice. That was very helpful to us. We had three guys move us: Matt, Tim & John, and they were exceptional. We had so many boxes, tubs, along with the furniture. They really hustled to get us moved in a timely manner, which saved us a bunch of money. They were very professional, efficient and personable. We will definitely use them if we dare move again! We were also impressed with our initial phone call to them. They explained the rates and the truck size as well. They even called the day before to confirm, that was impressive!

 + -1 moreThey have contacted me back to state they were able to do my move but I have already arranged another moving company to do this for me. They were apologetic and did feel badly for the fact they were unable to schedule my move. I would use YOUR PERSONAL MOVER INC if I had another move coming up in the future.
Description of Work: I had contacted them to schedule them to move my home. They were going to give me 3 employees but I would only needed 2 employees for the size house that I have. The wife did give me another estimate and would give me a call back to schedule the appointment. I never received a call back, so I contacted them and was told that they wouldn't be able to move my belongings on the December 6, 2012. They told me that they already scheduled someone else. When I was talking to them back in October they already confrimed they would me move on December 6, 2012.

The owner was great ( he was one of the movers). We could not have been happier. They were 1000% better than Bekins which we used to move across the country- they dinged up our brand new furniture and they didn't seem to care. We would definitely recommend My Personal Movers and use them again. It's a great local business.

 + -1 moreUnfortunately, I have had the opportunity to use many different movers in the Denver area. The movers I normally use were unable to fit me into their schedule for this recent move so I used Angie's List to find someone else and I am really glad I did. YPM showed up on time and even started moving small items as one of the gentlemen finished paperwork...I know this isn't a big deal but the fact that they took the "waste no time" mentality from the moment they stepped into my apartment was appreciated. From that point on they continued to work quickly but without breaking any items. After have to make two additional stops, the cost to move was WELL under what my sister had recently paid for an almost identical move. I have already recommended them to another friend that recently moved and will continue to do so. Great work for a great price!!

 + -1 moreBrian arrived right on time & immediately told me all about his company, employees, insurance & moving philosophies. We walked the house together & then he wrote up an estimate on the spot & left me with references & a brochure. He was also willing to work with us to tailor the move to our budget by offering less man power & only one truck if we decided to do a partial move with them. Brian had my full attention & best interests in mind. He made suggestions on packing & how we could help to shave off a couple of hours during the loading of the trucks. Their pricing was very competitive with the others I spoke with & the estimate was free. Although I was unable to convince my husband that this would be a much easier way to move all of our belongings, in the end we have decided to rent trucks & use our own family & friends for labor! Oh boy! BUT, I would totally recommend this company to anyone considering a move! I had a good feeling about him, his policies with his employees & knew they wouldn't break anything, would be fast & courteous as well. I WISH they were moving our stuff instead of us!! :) (The other people I spoke with were rather rude on the phone, late for our estimates & didn't even bother to discuss their company history or provide much information about themselves. The one company that was over an hour late, answered his phone 5x during our walk-through & didn't bother to tell the person on the other end that he was in the middle of something - just kept on talking!)

 + -1 moreBrian and Josh were a bit later than expected, but called to explain the (minor) delay. They examined the rooms and began moving with dispatch. They got everything properly loaded, made a stop nearby to drop a few of the items, and got to my house to unload just as quickly and efficiently. The entire project, for which they charge portal to portal, was 3 hours. The men (Tim joined them to unload) were friendly, efficient, and professional. What a relief for someone who dreads a move of any kind!

The guys were punctual, courteous, funny, and took extra care with our items, making sure that everything was moved and placed exactly where we needed it to be in the new house.  + 0 moreFirst of all, this company did everything they could to get us moved within the same week we called them (I spoke with Annette on Monday, and we were able to move on Thursday that same week) - no other moving company was able to arrange their schedules to fit us in with so little notice (especially during such a busy season). So from the very start they went above & beyond our expectations. The movers showed up at 8:45 instead of 8:00am, which was actually a good thing for us as we were running late too (imagine that on moving day!), so we didn't mind. They were very professional, and worked very hard - 3 guys: Zack, John, and Kyle. They never hesitated to ask questions about everything to make sure they got it right, they moved quickly and efficiently, and yet none of our furniture had a single scratch after the move (including my piano which has a very easily scratched finish). They handled all of our belongings with care, and were careful not to mark the freshly painted walls in our new house. They did everything right, and with great attitudes. At the end of the move they walked through our new house with us and offered to help move or adjust the placement of our furniture & other heavy objects, and to ensure we were satisfied. Lastly, the owner Brian called us a few days later to follow up and make sure everything had gone to our satisfaction, which of course it had. This is a small company that obviously cares very much about customer service and the customer's experience. They made what could have been a very stressful day one of the most relaxed moves my husband and I have ever experienced. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a moving company, or a piano mover. Thanks again Annette, Brian, Zack, John, and Kyle!

 + -1 moreWe hired Your Personal Mover, Inc. to move us from a 2200 SF town home to a 2700 SF house about 9 miles away. After having read reviews on Angie's List and checking out their A+ rating on the BBB website, then meeting Brian Nelson (the proprietor) who wrote us an estimate far lower than what we had expected to spend, we took a chance and hired them without getting any additional estimates. The crew arrived on time, and finished packing our house in 6.5 hours. They were courteous, personable, and professional without exception. The next day, they arrived on time again and managed to load everything from our four-level town home without incident and with amazing speed. They then transported and unloaded the shipment, and placed all the furniture in 7.5 hours. The original worst-case estimate was a little more than $3000.00. The final total was nearly $600.00 less, and we are amazed and delighted with the quality and the level of service. We have already made our first recommendation to a friend and we will continue to recommend Your Personal Mover, Inc. This company is a pleasure to do business with.

 + -1 moreI hired Your Personal Mover INC to move furniture and general household items from a storage unit in Centennial to a condo in Heather Garden's. I spoke with Annette and she gave me the price and suggested 4 men and two trucks due to the logistics of moving to the 4th floor with one elevator that is also used by residents as there is no separate freight elevator. The four men and two trucks showed up within 15 minutes of the scheduled time; very good considering they came from Golden during rush hour. The crew worked very efficiently and did not break or scratch a thing. One thing I noticed about this mover is that they use their own people instead of sub-contractors which gives them better quality control. Plus, they are insured and bonded which gave me piece of mind. As stressful as moving is, the men who worked on this move were awesome and so helpful, it was as stress-free as a move could be.

 + -1 moreWe recently drove a Penske truck from NC to CO, and needed a moving company to unload it. We looked at Angie's List and called a few companies. Your Personal Mover was responsive, we set up the unload date on the phone, called to confirm the Friday before, and everything was just as they promised. The two movers arrived a little early, and started moving immediately. They were fast, efficient, and professional. Even though we knew we would pay for the commute time from Golden to Broomfield, it was well worth the extra money to have this mover. Call them - you won't be disappointed.
Description of Work: We needed someone to unload a 26 foot Penske truck which we drove from NC to CO.

 + -1 moreOverall, what should have been a simple, straight forward negotiation turned out to be a dressing down that left a truly unpleasant taste. How they got such a high rating I don't know. Perhaps those reviewers were new to the process, not military personnel accustomed to the disasters and mishaps inherent in any move and the difference between curtesy and a curt "I'm doing you a favor" attitude. Do make sure you understand the veiled charges and limited workers. Do insist on a direct, honest response to your questions. Don't hire this lady and her 2 workers (or three if you can afford it).
Description of Work: My phone call was answered by someone with an argumentative nature and poor communication skills. I am rearranging furniture in an older home. I know that the furniture will fit in the site designated but I also know that it took more than this company's allotted 2 people to negotiate the 90 degree turns in small quarters of the stairwells in old houses like this. I was told that they would "let you know if the move cannot be made without damaging something and if you say go ahead they will no longer be responsible for damage" to goods or structure. I asked if there were more employees who could work on the job. (The last time the Air Force moved us the low bid company they hired had several people, at least three of them, each time a large piece of furniture went down those steps. The move out was a similar situation, someone watched the duct work, pipelines etc, directing navigation and believe me it took more than 2 guys.) The answer I got was really a challenge- "why do you suppose it will take more than 2 people? My guys are familiar with moving furniture in small spaces?" The answer I held back was "because I've moved all over the country and it always takes more than 2 people to do steps with Amish furniture." When she finally considered that it might indeed take more than 2 she immediately got down to business- The cost would be $120.00 rather than $90.00 if 3 were required and there is a two hour commitment. You got it - I asked what would happen when they got the furniture out the front door, around to the back entrance then discovered they didn't have enough people? Her answer was well then we wouldn't charge you for the move just the minimum 2 hours for coming out? WHAT? I'm thinking , just what pray tell, do they intend to do with the furniture? leave it on the patio, collect their $360.00 and leave? Bottom line - I know my possessions better than she and it should be assumed I can better estimate the requirements for this rearrangement. This company intends to make $180.00 x 2 or 3 to $240 x 2 or 3 no matter what they do. AND no one should have to grit their teeth just to refrain from responding to the condescension, dismissive attitude and down right snottiness. I gave her a pleasant "good afternoon " when she said she was booked out for weeks anyway. That should have come first don't you think?

They were on time every day and worked harder than any group of movers I have ever used. The crew was fantastic!
