After operating a family roofing company in the state of Georgia for 15 years, Brent and his family decided to settle in beautiful Colorado. Now a licensed and insured contractor in Denver and surrounding areas, Brent awaits your phone call.
To start with they left a pile of shingles and associated roofing hardware stacked up next to our driveway for a week after the job was completed. We had to have the contractor correct numerous problems including having the shingles separating from the roof and the gutter downspout extensions leaking and then icing over the walkways. When asking the owner to rectify some of these issues the list of replies included: it's stupid, it's irrelevant, was minor, a waste of his time, everybody has these problems with their roof, and that we should look at the big picture. On a couple of occasions the workers just showed up at the house without our prior knowledge. One time the gutter team told me that they would be at the house at 8:00 am, they didn’t show up, then out of the blue they pull up to the house at 1:00 pm as I’m getting ready to leave. Inquired about having the shingles reattached to the roof….heard nothing, then one evening half a dozen men jump out of a van and descend on our house ….at 6:30 at night. Perhaps the biggest issue was a sizable indentation in the roof over the garage that was very noticeable as you walk out our front door. The owner refused to fix this claiming it was a structural/settling issue that a lot of houses experience. I haven’t noticed this on other houses in the neighborhood. A reputable roofing contractor who has completed over 25,000 jobs, assured me the indentation was fixable, and that it was very unlikely a structural/foundation issue, just warped/damaged decking. If a contractor roofs over a problem without giving the homeowner the opportunity to decide if he wants to fix it, then the contractor owns the problem. This is accepted as standard protocol in the roofing industry. After having the indentation fixed, and the shingles removed…yes, it was confirmed that the cause of the indentation was warped decking/plywood, not a settling/framing issue. We spent a fair amount of money on this project, so it was a little surprising that the company couldn’t just step up to the plate and rectify this warped decking issue. They wouldn’t correct the problem and then threatened to void our warranty if we went ahead and tried to fix the indentation ourselves. How is that for customer service? Telling a customer that they have framing/settling issues with their house, when in fact one of your employees just roofed over bad decking/warped plywood is fraudulent.
