I strongly suggest using Ron for any landscaping jobs.

At 8:11 Ron called and asked if he could come at 9 as he was messing around with the dogs and even forgot he had scheduled the appointment until he saw it on the kitchen table. I agreed to 9. At 9:24 I called him and advised him we needed to leave in 5 mins. He interrupted me and said he was right here, but the addresses didn't go up to mine (he was reading the addresses from the wrong side of the street). I told him they did and he interrupted me again and said very rudely "Hold on, hold on, don't get excited!!" At that point I informed him we would not be needing his services.

Work went quite well. My wife and I along with neighbors on both sides were pleased with the results. Ron coordinated his work with other contractors working in our back yard on a tight schedule despite heavy rains that week. I really felt that our job was a high priority for him. In order to make room for a bobcat to get in and out of the yard later, Bob set up a section of fence so that it could be removed easily. Not only did he show up and finish on time, but he saw that a hollow trunk of a crabapple tree was likely to fall in the near future and offered to cut it down and remove the logs at a price much lower than other tree services we had contacted.

Ron was here exactly when he said he would be. Worked hard and long until done. We are so happy we found Ron on your list.

Erecting a fence in my neighborhood isn't easy due to outdated fence codes, but Ron and Jason did a great job getting my fence put up quickly after several delays due to permitting issues (my issue, not theirs) The workmanship is great and the fence should last a long time. I appreciate them being flexible when I was having trouble with the city and had to reschedule twice. Very happy with the work and would recommend them.

Because the storm had damaged many fences in the western suburbs, getting estimates from repair companies was difficult. Several promised to come out but didn't, and another refused to even give a quote. Ron Bates, however, gave me an estimate and performed the work within a couple of weeks. He was no less busy than any of the other contractors, but he delivered. The fence looks great, and the new gate works fine. My only disappointment was with the cleanup after the project was completed; there were some small chunks of concrete left in the gravel and pieces of board from the old fence left in the grass.

We know situations arise and felt we were understanding but, at least with us, they lacked communication and follow thru. I would hope this is the exception to their business practices and not the norm.

The landscaping looks great. When a couple of the fence posts failed, Ron replacement them at no additional cost to me. Overall , these were good experiences.

Ron's fencing was on time and completed the requested work, but was not entirely professional. An initial estimate by a former employee was given. Apparently the former employee was an issue for the company. We ended up slightly changing what we wanted done, and there was some dispute about what the cost should be. They ended up agreeing to do the job for less than we even thought the cost should be, but we needed to pay in cash that day. Luckily we were able to do that. The finished fence is mostly done well, but in an areas where the fence met with an existing fence segment the work was pretty sloppy. They also didn't fully clean up when they were finished and they left some concrete blocks they had to dig up and some fence debris. Perhaps our service was linked to the issues with ex-employee, but overall the service was just not quite professional. We like our fence, and while the price was right, we would probably choose to work with someone a little more professional in the future.

Our entire experience with Ron's fencing was positive. When he came to do the bid he was quick and professional and left us with a written bid proposal. I had a couple of bids on the job but Ron was the most competitive, however, that was not the only reason I chose him. He was also friendly and professional and you could tell that he was confidant and skilled at his job. I had another guy come out to do a bid that gave me the opposite impression! He was pretty busy so we had to schedule the work for about four weeks out. The day before the work was to be done he called to confirm and I told him that we might not be able to be there when they came to do the work, so he offered to come a day early and get it done that day. That worked for us so he said he would be there in about 2 hours. He got to our house right when he said he would and got right to work. Ron and his helper were friendly, efficient, and professional. They got the work done quickly and done well, and we are very happy with the finished product. They cleaned up all of the scrap wood cuttings from the fence, and even hauled away the old fence. After the work was completed we wrote Ron a check for the agreed upon bid amount, and he and his helper hit the rode. The next time I need work done on my fence I will be calling Ron.

Ron missed follow up commitments again and again, missed two scheduled appointments. I had to chase him down for my project and then he missed showing up. When I called him again to find out, he said he forgot the appointment and now...two weeks later, he's running a few weeks behind. Poor service and follow up. Would have been nice to know all that up front in any case, that is understandable, but regardless of learning that upon last call to him after missed appointment, poor service.

Ron was super responsive and upfront. He was extremely quick and efficient, I cannot tell you how many neighbors came over to complement us not on just the beauty of the fence but the quickness of the install. would definitely recommend.

Got a quote within one day of my call, work was done the next day. Work was done quickly, and he cleaned up after himself. Would use again when we replace fence.

This contractor provided quotes for several jobs, including removing a tree. When he arrived, he performed some of the work, but did not remove the tree as agreed. He said it would be removed the following Monday or Tuesday. On Thursday I telephoned and asked about the tree. He said he would call his tree guy and have him call me. On Friday I called again and he got angry and told me to find someone else.
