J&K Roofing

I called them 4 times and I have given up and finally when someone picked the phone up, he said someone will call you in 24 hours, but I never heard from them. I am not going to use them because of the way I have been treated so far.

Professional. Worked with insurance agent so that my only out of pocket was the deductible. The work was done conveniently in one long day. Recommended.

They came and looked at the roof and determined it needed to be replaced. They had me contact my insurance company, because they said it was hail and wind damage to shingles that are no longer made. They gave a fair estimate of the total to replace the roof. My insurance company agreed with their assessment, and agreed to pay for it. Three weeks later, J&K came in one day (with 8 guys) and did the work from 7:00 am until 7:00 pm. It looks great. They cleaned up after themselves, and were great.

They took off the old roof and put a new one. They were very competent. The entire staff spoke French. They took 2 days. The house is old. It has a steep edge. They replaced the entire deck. They cleaned up after themselves. They cleaned up the neighbor?s yard too. They were thorough and conscientious. The job has a 5-year workmanship guarantee so if there is any problem, they will come back and address it.

We asked for an estimate, and instead were told that they would work with our insurance company to make their cost fit what the insurance company would pay us. Since the other 2 estimates we received were well under the amount the insurance company quoted, this is bilking the system. They also pressured us to sign a contract before they would give us a full estimate or talk to our insurance company.

The estimate was done at my convenience; the work was scheduled and completed while I was at work. I returned home one evening to find a brand new beautiful roof and not a trace of the day's work was left behind.

They were very professional from start to finish, especially Chris on the sales side. As a single female I hated the way I was treated by other roofing companies so I kept getting bids until I was comfortable - nine total. (One company actually came in $10k over all the other bids). Chris was respectful, educational, and communicated well throughout the process. Installation was timely, clean, and well done. Since my roof was replacedI have refered Chris and J&K to two other women who also used them.

The work ended up to my satisfaction. They did a clean job and they were very fast. There are no leaks. I called them back to remove some of their stuff and they did not complain about it.

From Randy coming out to quote the roof to completion it was very easy. He answered all the questions I had and helped me wade my way through the various shingles offered and what each portion of the re-roofing process was about. He was very nice, did not push me to do anything I didn't need, was very responsive to what I did need and found the best way to get it all done. The crew arrived early one morning and completed the whole roof in one day. They were also very nice, very professional and left everything clean when they left. They even hauled away my cut tree limbs. The roof looks great. It took a little more than a week from contract signing to completion due to the Memorial Day holiday and rainy weather which was to be expected.

I had wind damage to my roof. I had the old T-lock shingles. I called four different roofing companies to come assess the damage before I called my insurance company. I chose J&K roofing, not based on the estimate, because all of the roofing companies basically said they would do the work based on what the insurance adjuster estimated. J&K was the most honest and upfront of all of them. The J&K rep, Danny, that I worked with was great. He didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need either. In fact, he suggested some lower priced but better alternatives to things I had asked for. After choosing J&K, he went over the next steps in the process and said he would be here when the insurance adjuster came. Its a good thing too, because the insurance company tried to suggest a repair which would not have turned out very well, especially where I live. Danny from J&K spoke with the insurance adjuster and convinced him that the roof should be replaced and provided him with enough reasoning that they agreed. J&K did a great job and had the entire split-level roof complete in one day. They also re-roofed my two small sheds to match for no additional cost and added a powered roof vent. I was very pleased with their work. There were just a couple of things that I wanted to be changed or corrected. I called Danny and he came out and took care of them. Great experience with them. They also helped out with all the paperwork with the mortgage company. Very easy. Highly Recommended.

They did a great job. They were prompt and they did what they said they would do. They cleaned up well, and their pricing was reasonable. The roof has not leaked yet, and I was happy with their work.

The crew arrived on the day scheduled and quickly stripped many layers of shingles including an original layer of shakes. The naked framing was then covered in new plywood sheathing and the felt underlayment all in the first day. This is of note because of the 12/12 pitch of the roof that required rapelling gear on the workers. An addition on the rear of the house (where the leak was located) was also stripped of the old rolled roofing and new underlayment installed. The next day the shingles were added and the nearly flat addition had rubberized roofing installed with heat sealed seams. On the last day the final touches including painting all exposed venting, cleanup on the grounds and washing the siding where marks from the debris had marked the surfaces. A gutter crew completed the job a few days later. My expense included only the deductible on my homeowner's policy. You might check your policy, as many companies (including mine) have added a "special" deductible for Colorado homes that amounts to 1% of insured value to cover hail-related damages.

My roof was damaged by hail over the summer and my insurance covered the loss. I called J+K for an estimate and entered into a contract to have them perform the foregoing work. They negotiated with the insurance company to increase the amount for the shingles. I requested they put a beauty strip under the front windows and they did so without complaint. They did a good job overall and removed all debris. Simple and efficacious experience. I recommend them.

They were interested in doing roof repairs and I left them my name and number and they never called back.

It was fine. We were very satisfied. We were given a quote and that is what we paid. The staff was courteous, polite, and prompt. They cleaned up after themselves when they were finished with the job and we are pleased with the results.

I had a leak in my roof and I called to get an estimate. They said that they were busy right now and they said that they could call back a week later to give me that estimate. They never called to schedule the estimate; I called them a week later and did not hear back from them.

The job was supposed to start within two weeks of signing the contract but took two months to start. The job was supposed to take one to two days to complete but took two weeks and required additional work to correct problems. The contractor was supposed to order and install Velux flashing around the skylights but did not order the correct quantity of materials and did not install the desired flashing. Besides not using the specified flashing, the flashing and roofing around the stove chimney was not installed properly resulting in an out-of-plumb condition and original flashing around the skylights was distorted resulting in gaps around the windows. Both problems had to be corrected following numerous discussions with the roofing contractor and Velux window representative. The roofing contractor was not proactive in correcting the problems. Cleanup was poor with several nails and bits of sheet metal left in the gravel driveway approach to the garage. The job required much more homeowner oversight than anticipated, requiring two days off from work and part of a weekend to complete the job. The contractor agreed to extend the labor warrantee to mitigate risk of leakage around the skylights.

I thought they paid very close attention to detail. They did a very high quality job. They did the work very quickly. They were very professional and I would recommend them.

He did a very good job. Another company quoted that I needed a lot more work done. J&K just came in and saw what needed to be done. I feel like they were honest and respectable. The man who came out was very professional.

They were very good and were punctual. They were able to get the work done in one day. The quality of the work was also very good.

We are very pleased with our experience with J&K Roofing. Randy was very professional. He helped in communicating with the insurance adjuster and went to bat not once but several times with our insurance company to get the full amount needed to do the job. On the day of the job, he showed up with 2 crews who worked a 12 hour day and finished that day. He had them build a cricket where the chimney meets the roof to help with drainage of rainwater and snow, and created 4 new vents in the roof to help with reducing heat in the attic (2 things we hadn't thought of and are glad we have). He also pointed out a problem we have with the chimney which we couldn't see from the ground. He took pictures so we could see it. I appreciate knowing this so we can now get the chimney repaired.The crew picked up after themselves and the end result looks great. I would recommend this company to anyone needing a new roof.

The work was done on July 30, 2008 and took 2 days using a crew of 6 - 8 people to get the job done as quickly as possible. They hand-nailed vs air-stapled all the shingles, thoroughly cleaned up the yard debris and also coordinated the roof install with a separate skylight replacement contractor we hired. I can't say enough positives about the job they did - a first class operation.

We are soliciting roof repair bids from other contractors.

I called J&K Roofing and Chris was very personable and from the questions he asked it was apparent right away that he knew roofing inside and out. I immediately felt confident about his skills. Chris was able to get us an estimate the next day. He was thorough and made sure before going to the house that he would have access to the attic to check the roof from underneath. We appreciated that because it turned out that the deck needed replacing, too. Unfortunately we weren't able to hire J&K because the seller ended up using his own people but we would have gone with them if we had the choice.

They estimated it would take 2 days to complete. The crew arrived at 8am and was finished with the roof by 6:30pm that evening. While men were on the roof working, another was down below cleaning up. Except for a couple of nails and some grass damage you wouldn't know they were here. The men were all really friendly and hard working. Regarding the grass damage, it was minor and is already beginning to come back (after 2 weeks). Danny explained that this could be due to shingles on the lawn. Not a problem really and understandable. My husband noted 2 shingles that were damaged and they sent out a couple of guys in just a few days to make the repairs and a quality controller checked it. Overall an excellent experience and am recommending them to my neighbors.
