Golden Solar proved to be an excellent company. Before, during and after our project Golden Solar went the extra mile to complete the project on time and on budget. I would happily recommend Golden Solar!

These guys do efficient, quality work. They care about what they sell you and how it is installed. They are a local home town vendor that will support you over the life of your solar. Their service has been great post installation too. I've recommended Golden Solar to numerous others over the years. My install is almost 3 years old and still awesome. I haven't had an electric bill yet and that has also been great.

Can't say enough good about Golden Solar. Their service is very personal and professional. Each team member is a true expert in their respective area. We shopped around and the prices are excellent. One of our panels had a problem and they replaced it quickly and without hassle. Many solar installers are like hard-sell used car salesmen, Golden Solar is not - they are honest and trustworthy.

Asked for and got a refund for the money I paid

I have a solar panel on my roof. He came and repaired the siding around my solar panel that was loose. He didn’t charge me anything in hopes I would hire him for a replacement solar system. He was really good and on top of it.

As part of the system I was supposed to get a monitoring system. After over a year and half, I have not received the system despite contacting and calling them several times.

DO NOT USE GOLDEN SOLAR!! After looking for over 2 months I came across Golden Solar. At first I was impressed with the communication, happy with the reviews and the agreed price till I sign in a contract then all communication stopped. The second day they came out and surveyed the property and I thought that this is going to move quickly and I’ll be generating my own power soon. Well this was the end. 1 month later no call or no updates and no return calls. I called and talked to Don Parker(owner) and ask what is going on!!! He didn’t have a clue. After 2 months again no calls no updates and no return calls. I called and talked to Nathan Grant (Sales person) and ask what is going on!!! He didn’t have a clue but said he was going to the office and have a meeting with the owner and on Monday will have a firm installation date. Monday came and again NO CALLS so on Tuesday I called and talked to the owner and he said that he could not do the job because of my Concrete Tile Roof (what!!!). If concrete tiles are a problem this should have been told to me when they came out and surveyed my property, the 2nd day. This company should have told me from day 1 that we cannot do this job Instead they wasted over 2 months of my time for nothing. Now I have to start over from square 1 looking for Solar. This is the worst customer service I have ever had dealing with any company. If they underbid the project. I wish they would just be honest and just tell me the truth. That is what an honorable company would do.

From my initial contact with Ernesto and Golden Solar, he and his co-workers were a pleasure to deal with. While designing and quoting my system, Ernesto patiently answered all of my questions and modified the quote to meet my needs. He and his team were prompt and responsive from start to finish, and it was clear that Ernesto loves his job and wants to ensure that his customers are completely satisfied.I requested bids from five solar installers, and Golden's won out due largely to Ernesto's professionalism and willingness to design the bid to closely match our ideal system. It didn't hurt that Golden's price was one of the best. Adding a solar system to a home is not a quick process due to all of the site visits, permitting and power company interaction required. Golden minimized the disruption by handling all of the paperwork, and worked their installation schedule around our needs.The system is now up and running, thus far producing more power than Golden promised. I could not be more happy with the level of service I received from Ernesto and his team (Sean, Luke and Chrissy in particular).

The entire process went extremely well. Don did an initial estimate based on Google Earth imagery but the total system size was smaller than I would have liked. Don then came out to our house to get much more precise measurements of the roof and found that they would be able to install a system that would meet our needs.The installation started about two months after we signed a contract with Golden Solar. This might have been slightly delayed due to weather and having to wait for the roof to be replaced but still fell within the estimate that we were provided initially. The entire installation took a little over two weeks.Golden Solar was very responsive throughout the entire process to any questions or concerns I had. They ensured that all necessary paperwork/forms were completed and submitted to the right people.

Terrific. I highly recommend Golden Solar. Don is an honest man with great integrity. He will never misrepresent or exaggerate. I was referred to him by someone I trust and respect. I look forward to a seamless installation and a great solar system.

It was great! They showed up on time, worked very professionally and completed within the time promised. I have recommended then to a number of people already.

We first contacted Golden Solar in September 2012. They did ALL the paperwork, inspections, approvals (except for our HOA), contacted Xcel and even did the Tax Forms. The entire staff at Golden Solar (from the office staff to the guys that came out to the house) were amazing, capable, friendly and very nice people. Billy, Austin, Shawn, Seth and Luke were a pleasure to have in and out of my home. They kept us informed of every step of the process and were always accessible. They needed to do work in the attic and were very careful of the insulation and cleaned up any mess. The panels went up in November and we went live on December 28, 2012. Although it has been winter and cloudy, we have already had great results! Xcel actually sent us a check. My husband and I have always been very interested in solar and it was kind of a dream of ours to go Solar. This wonderful company made that happen. The price of $33,456.00 is before the tax deduction we will recieve. With the cost of energy and what it may be in the future...we all should be producting our own. Go Solar!

They came out and installed the system (Shawn, Luke and Kaleb). Very thorough and professional. It took abut 4 days on-site to install the system (pretty good sized system for a residence) and do the electrical work requested. We did grill burgers for their lunch one day (you should always give a few perks to people that are on-site for multiple days). They kept the work areas clean and explained what they were doing (I ask a lot of questions). The system came with an Envoy monitoring system to allow the homeowner to access the Internet and monitor their system's production. If I had any suggestions for improvement is that it would have been really nice to get something that lays out everything about installation, equipment, monitoring, the stepwise process, etc. I like to learn about the system in as much detail as possible (maybe others do not). I was somewhat unclear about what the utility company (Xcel Energy) would be doing and how each of the new meters worked (one measure production for Xcel and the other is a net meter that registers energy use (as is used for an electric bill). I know that they probably rolled their eyes a few times as I emailed questions, but they always got back to me. I guess I was smart to grill burgers for them! Even in winter, the solar panels are producing better than I had expected this time of year. Before the installation, we had found hail damage on the roof, so we had impact resistant shingles installed. The insurance discount for these shingles offset much of the increase in homeowners insurance for the solar panels. I would recommend purchasing a system (30% direct tax credit) rather than leasing one (lots of downsides here). I would also recommend Golden Solar. I like using a smaller business where you get to know the people you are dealing with (as long as they have good reviews).

System install went as promised with respect to timing etc.

Provided 16-350-Watt panels with microinverters, installed and wired panels and inverters, added pigeon-proof wiring under panels as requested, notified local electric provider who installed metering as required. System was on-line about ten days after initial work completed. I have heard there can be delays in system start-up, so make sure all the necessary parts of the system are ready so it can be put on-line as soon as possible after install completion as electric provider can drag their feet.

Very good experience overall. They initially recommended 5,000 watts, quickly revised the design and estimate when we asked for 6,000 to meet our goals. Good explanation of costs including up front and credits. Neat workmanship, orderly progress, no mess. Shawn took care of all permits and paperwork for Excel credit, and provided paperwork needed for IRS tax credit as well.

He is honest, attentive, personable, upstanding and the type of businessmen you just don't see very often. Shawn was able to find an area on our roof for our service that other service providers couldn't. We worked together very well. He was very efficient in getting all the permits and other neccessary items for the project. He was very upfront with us about any difficulties.
