Columbia Sanitary Service

First, let me say that we have been using Columbia Sanitary for months with no issue. Recently, however, the normal technician that services our RV was injured and so instead they sent an inexperienced technician who had no clue what he was doing and spoke no English to service my $120,000 RV. I attempted to contact them multiple times when the tech showed up unannounced (we always request and receive a call in advance) and was unable to locate the tank release latches, a very basic thing. I attempted to talk the tech through the location over the phone, as I was not on site (hence the request for a call), and he was unable to understand what I was saying when I explained that the latches were located inside of the basement door, directly under the driver side slide. He had no clue what I was saying. I tried many times to contact Columbia Sanitary to no avail. I finally get a call back a few hours later from the manager, long after the tech has left, who was not only incredibly nasty and disrespectful, but actually had to nerve to falsely accuse me of being rude to the technician for attempting to give him instructions. No apology for the lack of advance notice or assurance of the tech's qualifications, just excuses and false accusations. She literally called me to argue, tell me they no longer wanted my business, and hang up on me like a petulant teenager. I was floored by the immaturity and incredibly irresponsible nature of their treatment of a customer. How on earth can a company with such unprofessional and disrespectful management possibly stay in business?

Had them scheduled once. No call no show. So we rescheduled for 2 weeks later. No call no show. Big waste of time. I do not recommend this company

On 9-15-15 Fred arrived and pumped out one of our tanks and cleaned our filter. When the filter was being removed, it was brought to my attention that the float ha been altered and fastened with duct tape. I asked if he knew anyone who could repair it and he hadn’t a clue. Well he taped it back in and not at the correct level and the alarm sounded. This was less than a week after pumping. I tried to contact your company for answers> No response for several hours. We were able to find help with John Todd company. Not only did they repair the float system but found that Fred only pumped the gray water holding tank and not the solids. I asked at the pumping time why there were 2 more tank openings. They did have some grass growing on the top of those tanks but were easily accessible. My questions were ignored. He did state that we needed new concrete lids and an address: Lid Flixx on Highway 93. was given. I explained from the beginning that we were not the original owners and never had septic before. Now when we did hear back from Fred, he stated it was the riser pump, which it is not, as the alarm was for the float mechanism. After looking closer at your web site, covers and risers are available. So what was the deal? So what if he needed to make a call and have someone else to fix the system? I waited almost a month for this kind of service?

I contacted Columbia Sanitary Services first thing in the morning to get pricing on new risers and covers for our septic tank. The woman who took my call was very professional and was happy to add me to their list of jobs. To my pleasent surprise, the Technician arrived later that afternoon. Not only was he prepared to provide an estimate, but he was ready to do the work right then. I had already researched the materials for the job so I had a rough idea of the parts cost. Columbia's prices were spot on and I could not have been happier that the job was done so quickly.

They did not bring enough hoses to reach the septic tank so they had to drive over the yard. I needed a lid replaced but it has been a month since they said they would do it with no appointment yet.

It went very well. They were professional and very responsive.

THIS COMPANY DID A GREAT JOB IN CLEANING OUT OUR SEPTIC SYSTEM AND MAINTAINING IT. WE CALL THEM ON A REGULAR BASIS AND THEY ALWAYS DO A GREAT JOB. THEY ALSO DID GOOD WORK WHEN WE NEEDED TO HAVE A NEW SYSTEM PUT IN. THEY TOLD US WHAT TO DO AND WHO TO CALL.
