We actually talked with them about five years ago in order to determine the appropriateness of solar for our home, but at the time much of our southern exposure was blocked by a huge tree. While some solar companies would just try to fit the panels anywhere that they could and let us suffer the productivity shortfalls, they gave us an honest assessment and let us decide not to install the panels. When the tree blocking our south view came down, we revisited the solar option and had another contractor come out and give us an assessment. Buglet's price was just over half of the price quoted by the other company, so we went with them, and are quite glad for it.They were very friendly and professional, talked through all of the options, possibilities, and caveats. They weren't afraid to let us know, for instance, that the solar panels won't provide energy when the grid is down (this is a regulatory limitation, not something with the panels). They let us know what our choices were, and we wound up going with a slightly more expensive microinverter array. The panels we wanted were back ordered, so it took them a while to be delivered. Once Buglet had the panels, it took them about four days of work to install them on our roof. They were very considerate of our time, warned us when they were going to be up there, and didn't do anything to disrupt our household. In addition to all of this, they are a very nice couple, and it's refreshing to run into one of those small businesses that provide a service that exceeds the quality and professionalism I would expect from a large one. I would heartily recommend them for anyone who is considering a solar installation.
Description of Work: Provided full installation of a 6kwh solar panel array on our roof. Examined the roof, hired a structural engineer to certify the structure, handled all of the permits and inspections, and showed us everything we need to know about the process. They also walked us through the paperwork for getting credits from Xcel energy and provided us with the forms necessary to get our tax credit.

Working with Buglet was a 5-star, 2-thumbs up, high five experience!!! As the first unit in my complex to have PV solar installed, it was important that the installation be of top quality to assuage any concerns of the HOA. Bart and Whitney were professional, thorough, responsive, performed on schedule, and delivered my system on budget, despite a few unexpected challenges along the way. Moreover, Bart and Whitney are genuinely nice folks to know and work with. I don't anticipate problems with my system, but should something arise, I'm confident that Buglet would be there quickly to help me resolve the issue. Would I recommend Buglet Solar? I already have and based on my experience, two of my neighbors are having systems installed (as this review is being written). As an FYI - my system if relatively small, located on a 2-story townhome. Total installation took about 3 days. Full system activation/initialization occurred about 3 days later following inspection by the city and installation of new meters by XCEL.
Description of Work: Bart and Whitney, the husband and wife owners and operators of Buglet, provided system design services, system infrastructure details requested by my HOA, obtained the building permits through the City and County of Denver, filed and processed the application with XCEL energy, then completed the installation, connection to XCEL's system, and initialized the system. As part of the package, Buglet installed an inverter with internet connection that allows me to monitor the system in real time. The system has been operational for approximately 4 months and its performance has exceeded my expectations. In part that again reflects the positive experience I had working with Buglet.

“Buglet Solar” is a first class solar outfit that I employed to remove and replace 20 panels on my roof in conjunction with a roof replacement. The big companies don’t want to service anyone needing this kind of service unless they are previous customers. As a result, its not easy to find a reputable company that is willing to do the job in a timely manner. Buglet, on the other hand, is more than willing to address any job. Since city ordinances regarding panel placement had changed since my panels were originally placed on the roof, Buglet coordinated all changes and requirements with city authorities with ease and competence. In addition, they were cooperative and responsive to the necessary coordination required with the roofer in accomplishing their job. Although the work was delayed by a combination poor weather conditions and roofer delays, when the weather cleared they promptly completed their work. I received top quality work by a professional outfit that I would recommend to anyone seeking solar service or installation.

Buglet was probably the easiest contractor I have ever worked with. They showed up on time, over delivered on what they promised and left everything in wonderful shape. They even made good on an issue which wasn't really their fault. I would highly recommend Buglet for anyone who is considering a solar panel project in Colorado.
