Don't EVER use Bishop Plumbing. We had them come clear a backup issue a few weeks ago and haven't used the plumbing since (we haven't been here). We paid over $500 for this and our plumbing just backed up on us. They then declined coming out for service when I expressed frustration that the issue wasn't fixed after paying $588 to fix the issue. I never once said I wasn't going to pay, I just didn't think we should have to pay full freight when we just paid for the issue to be fixed and it wasn't. I merely said, let's figure out the issue and go from there, we will pay to figure out the issue. Clearly, they don't stand behind their work or are competent enough to fix any issues beyond a clogged toilet. A total scam - I have never experienced something like this ever.

I told the guy there was a 4" pvc pipe coming out the door of our crawl space which ran back under the house to the base of the water heater. I guess to get fresh air for the water heater. The Bishop guy said that may be the problem and any way there is no 'code' or reason to have it so he unscrewed a couple hose clamps and unhooked the pvc pipe. Then he said if that doesn't fix it that particular manufacturer has had defective igniter modules and they should give me a replacement for free and that he could install it. He said he would put in this call as an estimate only and there would be no charge. Then I got a bill for 112.00. The pilot still blows out. They gave me a "break" on the bill after many phone calls, lower the bill to "only" $89.00

Floundering, unnecessary work, uncertainty about job. Some plumbers were very good and some were just incompetent.

Bishop advertises their plumbing technicians as "rock stars". The kid showed up and tried,talked to his supervisor 2 or 3 times, when asked by me or my wife, he said he would get it fixed. I spoke to DAVE at the office, and negotiated the price down to about one half, but was still excessive as I later found out. They did a bad job and their office manager also did a bad job. I will never use them again.

I used this company's online form to request an in-home quote. I received a call-back promptly to setup a date and time. The person at the office was easy to work with over the phone and we scheduled an in-home visit by a guy in the field so that the company could work up the quote. I scheduled the visit for a 90-minute window after I got off work. On the day of the visit the guy arrived at least 30 minutes early while I was on my way home from work; he called me at work after I had left and left a message indicating that he was ready for the home visit. I arrived in time for the 90-minute window to begin but the guy had long since left. Half-way through that period I called into work to check voice messages and I got his message. I called him back straight away and he told me that his appointment was for 4pm and I corrected him that it was for 430 and I had been waiting for him-his response was that he was already too far away to come back. When I asked him if I could reschedule the appointment with him he didn't really seem all that interested. He said that he didn't know if he would be the person to come back. We concluded the day with no inspection, no estimate, and no future appointment. Judging by the field guy's presentation on the phone I sensed that he had completed his previous assignment early and wanted speed up his visit with me as it was his last of the day so that he could get home early. He lived at least 45 minutes away from my home and at least another 15 minutes from the company office; I get the sense that this company is larger than just a few guys and contracts with at least one out-of-town guy to do their work rather than recruiting local help. Because this guy didn't follow the direction I provided to his main office and he didn't seem interested or capable of rescheduling the appointment that he missed, I am guessing that he is disconnected from what goes on at the main office and likely doesn't really care too much about the company he works for. When paying for service on my own home I am looking for a provider who cares enough about his work to show up on time and to be willing to leave his name on the work he completes. In my experience with this company they dispatched a guy who didn't present himself as being capapble of satisfying this standard. Consequently I am not doing business with this company.
