Once we put down deposit, provider was rude to the point of abusive, gave conflicting information on when the flooring would be available, said would 'never work with insurance co' after we had specifically said this was an insurance situation (and they had talked to the company representatives) and charged final payment on our credit card without our permission. (Thanks to Chase we did get it back.) The good things I can say are that we do love the wood on our new floor and the installer was very good.
Description of Work: New flooring for kitchen.

Initially contacted vendor to have carpet padding installed and existing carpet re-stretched in part A of the house as well as measure to create an estimate for insurance purposes for remaining damages, Part B resulting from a flood. Vendor did not show up for the first two days that were suggested by the vendor (I believe it was a Thursday the owner said "I can have my husband there by Tuesday next week". I get a call the following Thursday from the vendor's install person (owner's husband) to set up appointment. The appointment happens and i decide to stop into their shop to get bill and estimate, as i had not heard from them. After receiving the paperwork I discussed bill and estimate with my insurance and they would like to see the carpet re-stretched and cleaned in Part B before approving the install of new carpet. Within 2 days I called vendor to set this appointment up, and after informing me they have never heard of insurance company asking for such a thing they also tell they will not schedule another appointment until i pay $425 bill i came in and got from them just that week. I deliver check personally, within 24 hours, that Friday, so that Tuesday’s appointment to re-stretch can happen, and subsequent cleaning appointments etc can follow. I go to home to prepare Tuesday AM and leave to run errands. Upon my return i realize the vendors are a no show. When i call to see what has happened they tell me they are afraid i will not pay the bill, and since i didn't return a fax (that i did not receive nor did i need for Part A's work to commence and finish) they decided not to show up. THEN the phone disconnected. Was i hung up on? I will never know for sure but no one called me back. What I do know is this left me with a week of useless appointments that were dependent upon this appointment, a renter without a place to move into, and scrambling to find PROFESSIONAL carpet installers and retailers.
Description of Work: After pipe freeze and flood i contacted vendor to have carpet padding installed and carpet restretched in a portion of the house and measure to create an estimate for insurance for remaining damages to another part of the houe. Second part of job would be to replace padding as well as potential new carpet re-install in this more heavily damaged area.

Response from Discount Flooring LLC
On The first Tuesday in question the owner was supposed to meet a representative of Discount Flooring there at 8 am our employee stayed there until about 830 and left as owner was not present. The first portion of work was completed and paid by [member name removed]. The second portion of work to be completed was unable to be paid by home owner and Discount flooring was told she would be when she received insurance funds, however [member name removed] would not sign and return a contract stating she would be responsible to pay for work if insurance did not allow for replacement costs. Further more the owners of Discount Flooring found out that [member name removed] property was in foreclosure as a notice of election and demand was filed on the property for foreclosure proceedings. At this time it was deemed by the owners of Discount Flooring [member name removed] ability to pay for the remaining work to be completed was unlikely and the unsigned contract was terminated and the second portion of work was never performed.
