This Efficient House

Description of Work: This efficient house was contacted by me for the installation of a whole house fan. It was scheduled and the night before they called to reschedule, due to a double booking. I was frustrated because I really wanted the install done, but went ahead and rescheduled for the following week. The night before that scheduled installation, they called AGAIN to reschedule. This time, I was super frustrated and told them to forget it. The owner of the company profusely apologized and said offered a 5% discount on the install, if I would go ahead with it. I really wanted the fan, so I agreed. | |The next week, they showed up and installed the fan. They were professional and "efficient"! I was EXTREMELY happy with the service provided, once they actually showed up. I love my new fan and I feel certain it will save me hundreds of dollars during the summer months for many years to come! | |They also did a efficiency evaluation which I found very informative and helpful! Overall, I highly recommend them! I understand that conflicts happen and I appreciate the job they did and the discount the owner gave me to compensate my troubles.

Description of Work: I wanted to talk to them about doing an estimate for some work. I called and left voice mail and also e-mailed them. I have never heard from them.

Description of Work: No work performed because they avoided our calls and emails.

Description of Work: I had an appointment with Mike to meet me at two of my rental properties and provide a bid for insulation.

Description of Work: Reed Davidson, project mgr for This Efficient House, is very knowledgable and helpful. We wanted additional blown in attic insulation and he suggested that his team seal penetrations in the attic first in order to reduce air infiltration. In addition, we decided to replace 2 bath fans and have Reed install venting through the roof for these. This venting did not exsist prior. Finally, we needed to have a drop down attic access ladder installed in the garage area and a large ceiling drywall opening sheetrocked. They could do all these various tasks although their business is more about increasing the energy efficiency of your house. In fact, these inprovements have made our house more energy efficient. The job took only 2 days with sealing the attic penetrations, installing Bath fans, vent pipe and roof vents, and insulating a large skylight that penetrated up through the attic on the first day. The 2nd day, they blew in attic insulation, did sheetrock and installed the drop down attic stairway. They were on time, did what they said they would and got it done. The whole team were pleasant, worked VERY hard and cleaned up after themselves.

Description of Work: Air sealed attic penetrations, air sealed recessed can lights, air sealed top plates, vented two bathroom fans, increased attic insulation from R-17 to F-42 with blown cellulose, air sealed and insulated attic hatch, sealed plumbing access door and door into garage against air leakage. Mike's employees also discovered an unsafe electrical situation in my attic and called in an electrician to repair the problem before they covered it up with insulation, preventing a potential fire hazard.

Description of Work: This Efficient House replaced 7 of the original windows in my house.

Description of Work: My husband and I bought a new house in November, but the furnace was original from 1983 and was on its last legs, as was the water heater. We contacted Mike at This Efficient House the first week of December to replace our furnace and water heater.
