Rick came recommended to us by a Loveland general contractor. His work was adequate, but his lack of communication skills soon lead to disputes, especially in the scope of his work. For example, he gave us a quote for "ALL" trim (casing, jamb extensions, baseboards) in the house. When I asked when we would complete the trim for an integrated workshop, he refused to do the work. His reason was that the workshop was not a part of the house and therefore not included in his bid. I inquired what part of "ALL" allowed him to refuse to install trim in the workshop. I have been remodeling homes for many years and expect some disputes as a part of the process. My husband and I met with Rick to discuss the trim issue at a local coffee shop. During the discussion, Rick became visibly angry. He finally stood up in the coffee shop and told me and my husband in a loud voice to "Go to H@ll" and "F@ck you!!" (More than once.) I have never been treated in this way in all of the years I have remodeled houses. He repeated this behavior at a local bank when being paid and notarizing a lien release. The bank employee was visibly shaken by Kenna's behavior. There are many competent carpenters in Northern Colorado. I HIGHLY suggest you bypass Rick Kenna and look for another carpenter without anger management and communication issues issues.

Response from The Remodeling Co
So a pretty bad review. First and only in 50 years of business. This is back in 2013 and I just saw this review last night. Here is my side. Individule was remodeling his house and he got my name. I went there, walked the house and wrote up a bid to trim the interior of his house. $11,000.00. He had no idea what he needed for my end of the project so I volunteered my time, without asking for pay, to walk the entire house and get a material list together. Cabinets however were in the garage that he ordered so I began setting them. His order that he made didn't fit the house dimensionally, so I reframed the house and cabinets to make them work, again without asking for additional pay. Three days to set cabs, on the second day I asked him when the doors were going to be delivered as that was next thing to do and his reply, "I haven't ordered them yet". He ordered the cheapest doors he could, I hung them with great difficulty as they were not hinged well and the jamb heads were all too small for the door. I was blamed by individule for the finish the painter put on the doors. Dark stain on cheap six panel veneered fir doors with the veneer so thin the glue came through the grain in manufacturing that the stain looked horrible. How is that my fault? This person made the job a nightmare from start to finish. He would not pay the final $1500 saying I didn't trim his garage (so full of funiture it would have been impossible to trim had it been in my bid) plus an outbuilding that was to be a shop. To get to that building it was out the back door, down stairs, across a lawn to a door that was deadbolted. That also was not in my bid. I bid the house only. We indeed did meet at a coffee shop where he informed me he would not pay the final amount after fifteen minutes of conversation. I indeed did get up from the table very angry and with a loud voice informed him I see him in court using unsavory language. He called me two hours later and asked me to meet him at his bank so he could pay what was owed.
