Originally told 2-3 months for repairs, 8 months later work done. We were told to discard items that were not damaged by the fire because "you never know how the electronics, etc will function after smoke damage..." So, even with a large amount of belongings already destroyed, we were directed to get rid of tvs, food items in cans/jars, other electronics, etc. as well. We felt very rushed and pressured while we tried to collect and move our belongings out. Some of the work done was unnecessary, which we found out later such as electrical wiring replaced even though the electrician approved it as sound. Overcharges, charges for cleaning of items not present in the home....Absolutely horrible experience after already losing so much...

Description of Work: My basement flooded from toilet that was installed improperly. They came with my insurance adjuster and had me pay $500 copay and set up some large loud machines. The machines caused overheating (temp was over 145 degrees 3 hours after I turned them off) cleaning materials boiled over out of bottles and combined, candles melted all over, A/C thermostat and condenser broke from overload, way over $40,000 in additional damages were done. They showed up 2hours late to appointment to get there machines and said they would clean up and make things right. they then missed following 3 appointments, so I sent them a fax firing them. They then proceeded to place a lien on my home for services they NEVER did just estimated and they certainly didn't pay for the damages they caused.

Description of Work: Servicemaster begun their service to our household by mitigating a water-pipe burst which flooded our finished basement and severely damaged an upstairs bathroom. After drying out the flood damage, we hired Servicemaster as our general contractor for a major renovation of master bath, guest bath, guest room and family room, as well as partial work on an already-underway kitchen renovation. We are happy with the finished results. Because the major September 2013 Colorado flood spread the Servicemaster team a bit thin, the timeline was affected, but typically renovation work and construction always takes longer than estimated anyway. My only wish would be that Hank would have been more involved and on-site more to oversee the work and do more of the coordination (that fell on us in his absence), but overall we are pleased. We also had Servicemaster clean the carpets after job completion, for which we are also very pleased with the result.

There was apparently a communication problem that prevented us from getting the work done that we had contracted for. That part (all the cleaning) didn't go well. We were not happy with the product (carpet cleaning/ housecleaning) cuz for the most part, it simply wasn't done, however, what I did want to report on was 'Hank's (owner? manager?) responsiveness. Once he learned that the services were really sub-par he really made an effort to make things right, including giving us a partial refund. He claims that he has remedied the problem with his staff and that what he termed 'misunderstandings' should no longer occur. I would recommend that if you do hire this company, that you work directly with Hank if you can. He really did seem to feel badly that our experience was negative and I appreciated that he cared. A lot of places/ owner/managers, just wouldn't. When I rate 'Bs' on responsiveness and professionalism, that relates to Hank's interest in trying to mitigate the damage, and not the work that was done (or really -- not done).

They stuck with it until they got the job done, and it took more than try. They cleaned the upholstery on an antique chair, and they were very careful and really worked on it, without causing additional damage. That chair came out very well. The other two chairs had some problems with the fabric, because it bled and shrunk, but they were very with the antique.
Description of Work: A squirrel had come down our chimney and made a mess in our home while we were on vacation. We called them to clean the furniture.

It went as good as could be expected. Have fans available to speed drying process. Good weather that allows windows to be opened would help.
Description of Work: My request for an estimate was promptly answered. When I called for an appointment I was able to book at my desired time. Randy called prior to the appointment and arrived on time. He was thoroughly professional; pretreated several pet stains and a couple of unknown spots. The carpets both upstairs and downstairs cleaned up beautifully. I would use this service again without hesitation! M
