Services we offer

RHMM guaranties radon levels below the EPA guideline, low visibility, low noise, and lowest energy losses. They use advanced diagnostics to ensure optimal installation. They fully seal crawl space membranes and unfinished basement slabs in all systems. They can install Super Low Noise Exterior systems where needed, and test as well as mitigate radon-in-well water. They also specialize in homes that are difficult to mitigate and can install alternatives if needed.

Services we don't offer

RHMM can test for mold spores in the air or direct mold sample and moisture testing but they do not offer mold remediation service. They can refer to other companies they have worked with in the area for the latter.

Honest, straightforward, knows his stuff, and reasonably priced. I couldn't have asked for better professionalism or service from RHMM. The owner (Leo) does all his own work, from estimates, to administration, to the work itself. I got 3 estimates and Leo consulted with me for over an hour during his visit (since my house had an unusual situation) while the other companies blew off my questions and were in/out in 15 minutes. Leo's prices were only slightly higher than the other two but the workmanship and value is far and above what they would have provided. Since he has no office staff, you may need to be persistent with phone calls and emails but this is a minor inconvenience and well worth it! I wouldn't think of hiring anyone else if I need radon mitigation in a future home.

Based on previous reviews, I'm certain this particular vendor does good work, however they must be extremely busy. I will be looking elsewhere.
Description of Work: Sent out two email inquires via the Angie List Website for the purpose of simply trying schedule a estimate at my home. After nine days including an additional inquiry using the same Angie's list email portal, still no reply.

Description of Work: Leo was quick to respond and very professional. Came and looked at the house and arranged for the test. Upon completion of the test he came back and took the device for test results. Received results back in what seemed to be an appropriate time fram with explanation of what the process would be to install the system. Made appointment to install system. Arrived at the time he said he would be here and was done with the install in a reasonable time. Cleaned up and left the devices to do the after test with easy to understand instructions as far as process to follow. Would recommend to others.

Description of Work: Leo is very professional and extremely knowledgeable about radon mitigation. He takes a very applied science perspective to minimization of radon gasses and was clearly highly skilled and experienced in this area. The radon in our home went down from 7.5 to 1.5 after his installation in our basement. He was very punctual with a quote and the installation. I would definitely recommend his service to anyone needing to reduce radon in their home.

Awful, it started when they said they were qualified to go by EPA guidelines, they used charcoal instead, so still had amounts of radioactivity in the water. went to court.

It?s advantageous to have the expert in the field do your work! We bought a 40 year old ranch style house. During the negotiations we had it inspected and the radon tests were above the national limits, so we specified it be remedied. The selling realtor countered with something like ?here?s $1000 off the price; call our usual guy - he can fix it for that?. That guy didn?t reply to our voice mails. I looked at radon mitigation contractors in Angie?s List and discovered one of them, Dr. Leo Moorman, is the national expert who has done a lot of the academic research and published in the scientific literature on the topic. I read a couple of his studies and discovered he has not only developed the mathematical models for determining optimal mitigation configurations for a given building but he has combined that with at least 1.5 decades of actual installing experience on more than 1500 buildings (in addition to his regular job as an Assistant Professor of Physics). He?s the certified instructor who teaches other contractors how to do it right. Leo was great to work with. He inspected our home and explained his approach to the problem. There was uncertainty on whether the space under the basement concrete floor was one whole space of dirt and air that could be vented by one hole in the floor (the realtor?s assumption), or there could be foundation footings that divides that space into multiple spaces requiring multiple holes and pipes to vent each of those spaces. He drilled small holes in well-chosen places and made pressure and flow measurements and plans accordingly which he discussed with us. He and his helper worked diligently to drill holes and install PVC pipes carefully without splashing or affecting a basement full of yet-unpacked boxes of belongings. They filled cracks and their test holes in the concrete. We ended up with two vent holes in the basement and one in the garage floor slab each with appropriately-sized pipes integrated into a single exhaust pipe through the roof above the garage. He placed the venting fan and motor in the attic above the garage so that the sound is undetectable in the house and yard. The final radon measurements were drastically reduced and well below the acceptable thresholds. The total price was double what the realtor brashly predicted, but it was a reasonable price for what it took to get the job done right. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend this professional to others for domestic and commercial radon testing and mitigation work.

Leo came to our home and looked at what was needed. He is very knowledgeable and takes a scientific approach to his job. Dean came in once we agreed on a time. He is very thorough and does his job in a workmanlike manner. Everything was clean and picked up. No problems. I feel that the work was well done and the price was competitive and fair.
Description of Work: We tested our house and the radon level was 13.8. After The system was activated our radon level is 1.6. Huge improvement.

I chose RHMM after 3 other proposals. Leo's system was more comprehensive and scientifically grounded. He took a lot more time to assess my house, explaining the pro's and con's of the two options he recommended. The materials he used were much higher quality than the others', yet his price was comparable to theirs. His crew was on time and worked very hard. They came back the next day to finish the job right rather than rush through it. They cleaned everything up in the end and my crawl space looks great. Most importantly, my radon level went from 17.3 to 0.3 pCi/L within 24 hours! I have a digital radon detector that averages 0.7pCi/L. I couldn't be more satisfied or impressed. Leo is a smart, dedicated, reliable and trustworthy person. I recommend him to anyone who wants the best.
