Little Guys Movers

On May 15th and 16th. Little Guys movers of Fort Collins, 807 Mulberry Street, moved my home to another home four miles away. I had gotten a quote from them for the move including ?replacement cost protection?. I was to buy packing materials from a third source and Little Guys was to provide one large wardrobe. The moving estimate made in Writing as a binding contract after an on-site visit on May 3rd, was $898.50. I also signed a written Addendum for an additional $330.00 on May 14th to pack the kitchen for 2.5-3 hours on that day. For a total written contract amount of $1228.50. When they delivered the furniture on Friday, May 16th, they proffered an invoice for $2108.04 for immediate payment. I was very unhappy with this because I had never approved the additional costs. However, pursuant to the contact terms I felt obligated to pay the invoice and wrote a check for that amount planning to submit a request for an adjustment which the contract allowed for, within 90 days. (The field movers, who were - in spite of their management, absolutely terrific young men, did a great job. BUT, immediately upon delivery of my furniture, and my giving them a check, a call from their office told them they "had to leave immediately to help another crew move a piano? before I could even hurriedly review any damages or question the basis for the extra costs). I immediately transferred funds electronically to cover the increased charges through my Comcast internet web banking service which, together with my phone service was cut-off for the move that day. [1] Suddenly, on May 29th, I received an email from Tim Massa, Manager of operations at Little Guys, Fort Collins accusing me of ?THEFT OF SERVICE?. I then also realized my phone service was still not properly accepting calls or messages and the internet service was intermittent.. I could not understand why Little Guys did not even try to reach me in other ways. They had (1) my other cell phone number and (2) my email contact information. This was the first I had heard about any funds shortages. Mortified, the next day, I went to the bank and determined the electronic transfer indeed hadn?t occurred and so I transferred the funds and immediately handed Little Guys a check in person. On that occasion, (May 30th) my opening conversation was met with verbal threats relating to ?federal offenses? from Tom Massa. In reviewing complaints on the web about the biggest scams committed by movers, this one ? to under-bid, over pack and charge for materials and then present a greatly inflated invoice in a hurry is common practice for scammers. I immediately emailed a written and documented request to Little Guys Fort Collins for an adjustment of the overcharges per the written contract amounting to $879.50. Again, they had never requested - and I never provided - written permission to pack the drawers, to to pay any added unknown costs, or to use Little Guys? materials. I had already bought my own and advised Little Guys. On checking their invoice, it appeared they had spent several hours packing clothing and items on the 15th that were in drawers and by agreement were not supposed to be packed. They charged me for the time and materials. In reviewing moving issues on the web, I found that what happened to me is the most often-perpetrated scam in the moving industry. Further, I now know that any additional costs, >10% of the quoted amount under federal law ? even if agreed to in writing - do not have to be paid immediately but rather within 30 days of delivery. I only got back a clear refusal to pay and specious ?arguments? that did not address the legitimate issues I raised with them and cite here. I sent another request to their headquarters at 308 N. Carroll Blvd. in Denton, TX 76201 on June 12, 2014. I then received an email from Little Guys Fort Collins refusing again to repay the overages and including statements using their indeciferable "furniture points" code system. I was only later able to get copies of the two phone and other email messages dated May 28th and 29th. Of course I have all other communications. Little Guys? ?inability? to contact me via email and my cell phone is NOT understandable in spite of the uncompleted internet and phone services by Comcast.. Other ways to contact me were always available. Their written and verbal threats about theft of service and federal offenses are inexcusable. They have not even apologized for this. I believe Little Guys owes me $879.50 in excess charges levied beyond the written, binding contract where the agreed to costs were $1228.50. I believe they also owe me an apology. [1] Indeed, unbeknownst to me at the time, the phone service never was properly re-installed and still works only poorly and variably to this day. My cell service and email service have been continually available.

They charge by the box they use rather that by the hour. I believe that help them to work faster. They have a group of young and clean gentlemen that are very professional. I had nothing broken and they gave me a quote immediately. They showed up on time.

I was very impressed with the response time to our first inquiry. We talked over the phone and they came out to look over the apartment to make sure the price they'd quoted us was solid. They gave us a reminder call before the move and arrived on time the day of the move. The four young men who moved us were very polite and personable. They worked non-stop with a good attitude even up and down many steps. We had one old piece that had been in our family for generations. They took extra time and care taking it apart, moving it and setting it back up for us. Alex asked us a couple of times before they left if there was anything else they could do, boxes they could move to different rooms, etc. I will definitely use them again any time we need to move anything! I was very impressed!

We hired the mover to move us twice, and during the move we let them know we had several old family pieces of furniture we wanted taken care of. It was a raging snowstorm, and two of these pieces were severely damaged, they were not covered with furniture blankets despite us requesting AND paying for blankets, both the finish was damaged in many places, and there were new gouges and nicks. We also had one box of family heirloom antiques that were tossed in a large box, not wrapped, not carefully placed, and we didn't discover that until many months later when we opened the box and were aghast. These were obviously very good pieces, and they were treated like junk. This move cost well over twice what they estimated, in fact to the point we were not only surprised, but when we found all of the damage, and the large box of antiques that were tossed in a box, we're so mad we decided to write this review. If you care about your possessions, don't use them.

It went really well, the guys were courteous and helpful. Couldn't ask for better.

They did a really good job and I would definitely call them again. One of the two fellows called Goodwill for me and found out if they would take my furniture. Also, when they were in my house, they moved around some furniture and were very mindful of doing the work right.

I waited until fifteen minutes before the end of their two hour deadline to call. I was told they were not at the deadline yet. I asked the person to check and call me back. After 20 minutes he called and said the crew had run into problems at another move and he was sending me a alternate crew. They arrived within half an hour and accomplished the move. Because of time constraints for my closing this delay was a major inconvenience.

The company and guys were awesome with very reasonable rates. They called ahead of time to confirm, they called before they left to come to the apartment. They did not mess around and were very pleasant to work with. They even helped me put together a Rubick's cube of a Scandinavian bed frame. I would absolutely use Little Guys again. I found them on Angie's List and was glad I did.

After dealing with a big trucking company (:ALLIED) for our move to Cheyenne, I was skeptical and went entirely off an Angie's list referral. These guys were wonderful. My biggest concern was our Baby Grand Piano. They brought three men just for that purpose. They were extremely careful and always knew what they were doing. They were always in control of whatever they moved and knew how to pack the heavy things without bumping into door jams or walls. And they moved steady until they were done. We highly recommend them.

They were upfront about all costs and came in at estimate.

Guys were great, did exactly what they said the would in the time they said they would. They did not try and hide any additional fees or charges. They arrived on time and called in extra help to meet the schedule.

Professional, quick, friendly.

This was the second time we used this company. Approximately 2 weeks to one month earlier they moved our daughter from Greeley to North Glen, Colorado. Her move was two bedrooms from our five bedroom house. Our move was the rest of the furniture from our five bed house to a house we bought. There were absolutely no damages to either house or any of our belongings. The team arrived exactly on time for both moves. It took approximately 5 hours for each move. The team was very professional and polite.

It went well but they were late arriving as they had a mix up of where to go.

Overall, they did a very good job. Their task was very difficult as they were unloading large heavy furniture items into a quad-level home. Some of the heavy/awkward items had to go into the basement and it was not easy to maneuver the items down the stairs due to the layout of the doors and entry. As I understand it, at one point a fourth young man came to assist the other three. The truck had a lift-gate instead of a ramp which did add considerable time to the unloading which wasn't their fault. For some reason, these men did impress me a bit as being more likely college students with a summer job instead of men who do this year round. However, they did do a very good job and worked very, very hard. My only complaint was that one of the men started smoking in the driveway and I had to ask him to stop as the smoke was coming into the house through the open garage and open door to the house and I am allergic to cigarette smoke.

The guys arrived when they said they would and were very professional. Although it took longer than anticipated and therefore cost more we were very happy with the service.

I am from a military family and I have extensive experience in moving. Lil Guys met my expectations. The team arrived on time. The three young men were efficient and courteous. Because I have moved so much, it is not easy to satisfy my expectations.

We used Little Guys for a move from Frederick to Windsor based on the reviews we saw on Angies list. We called and got a quote right over the phone and set up the move for the morning of the 24th. They showed up and got right to work, they took great care of our stuff and the home we were moving out of and our new home we were moving into. All staff members that we encountered we very friendly and ready to work. The move was completed without a hitch and came in exactly as we were quoted over the phone and we even got the discount for being a Angies list member. Do not hesitate to use these guys as they are moving pros and will make the dreaded task of moving as easy as picking up the phone and giving Little Guys Movers a call.

Overall, they really were great and I highly recommend them to others. The 10% coupon for Angie's list members didn't hurt, either!

Perfectly. The guys were prompt, courteous, and took care of our possessions like they were their own. They offered to do extra things, and received a large tip, due to the quality of their work.

Excellent experience. First contact on the phone was handled quickly and professionally. Easily found a time that was good for both of us. Three guys arrived exactly on time and moved about 100 boxes and various pieces of furniture from my garage into the basement. They were very careful with my walls and floors and did not leave a mark on either. All three were willing to do anything I asked and it was a pleasure working with them. Will definitely call Small Guys again.

For local moves they charge by the hour (time they leave the shop to the time they get back). I had them help me move my larger furniture from my 3 floor apartment to a new house. They worked quickly and took care of all my items. The only mishap occurred with a scratch on my couch but I account that to a very tight fit through the door of my apartment. Overall I was satisfied with them.
