Job was coordinated by Sarah Imhoff of Hixon Interiors. We scheduled the job to coincide with my being away from the house since the kitchen would be out of commission during that time. As a result the work went as scheduled. All of the subs showed up and did their work in a timely manner. I was very satisfied with the quality of the work. There was a flaw in one of the counters, but they came back and made it right. I am extremely pleased with the job that they did. I would definitely hire Hixon Interiors again.

Working with Sarah Imhoff at Hixon Interiors was a great choice for me. Background: Well into the design of a long awaited bathroom remodel, I realized some professional advice was necessary. I reached out to Sarah at the eleventh hour for help with some details and to provide general design feedback. My house features a number of custom built-ins that were used as inspiration for the remodel. Two of the house's built-ins take up a small L-shaped section of the bathroom, near the entrance. I wanted to incorporate the new bathroom vanity into that space so it worked as part of the house's original design. I needed help with some specifics of that problem, and a few other decisions like lighting and color. I also wanted to make sure the new bathroom had enough storage. Sarah came to my house for a consultation where she looked at the space, and we talked about my ideas and concerns. She agreed to provide a design that addressed my concerns. About ten days later I visited her office to go over the design. Sarah Delivers: I was so interested in her ideas, that I hadn't really considered how Sarah would communicate them to me. We first looked at an elevation showing her layout of the problematic wall. It included a new interpretation of the vanity that really opened up the space. Her design was much more detailed than I expected. We viewed a 3-D rendering of the design on a large screen. She could rotate the view, providing any vantage. I could stand up and talk about specific items in her design, pointing to them if necessary. Viewing the layout in 3-D at that scale brought out the details in her design, and gave a great overall view. Sarah gave me a copy of the elevation along with a general layout drawing and electrical plan. She emailed me static images of the rendering at about 0°, 45°, and 90°. They were very helpful. And More: Sarah did more than deliver, she saw past my 'problem' and turned it into an ingenious part of her design. I cannot wait to work with her on my kitchen. About my grading: Sarah is busy. It took 2 weeks to meet with her and another 10 days for her to deliver a design. But, she is completely up front about her schedule, and has actually been very responsive in our communications, including replies to a number of follow-up emails from me. Note: Her hourly rate may be high for some folks, but it was worth it for me. TL;DR: Sarah kicked butt. I will not hesitate to work with her in the future.

Sarah did an excellent job of providing samples of the stone, design of the fireplace wall and mantle, and coordination of the installation of the stonework. Without a lot of trial and error, she got what I wanted in the style and colors of the facade and mantle. She coordinated well with the fireplace installers and the media installers. When the time came for the installation of the stonework and mantle piece, she had her contractors at the house on time and ready to go. The work went smoothly and the finished wall and mantle looked wonderful. I recommend her highly and am using her services for other improvements at the house.
