Description of Work: EXCELLENT. We've been using Hooley in Loveland / Fort Collins for 18 years between two homes. Always good work, and wonderful to work with. I'd recommend them to anyone needing HVAC work or maintenance.

+ -1 moreI called Gary Hooley because their name was on the furnace in the house we purchased recently so I thought I'd stick with the company that had worked on our furnace before. I'm so glad I did. First of all, they were able to fit me in the very next day, which was fantastic. Reuben, the technician, was punctual, professional, and extremely nice. He explained what he was doing and even offered me a discount by letting me know about the annual service plan the company offers. He was also very dog-friendly, which was nice. The entire appointment was a very easy and pleasant experience.

+ -1 moreThe technician came when he said he would and had the parts on the truck to fix the problem. The repair was pretty straight forward. The technician explained a couple of helpful items. The price included the emergency service call. Although we would have liked the cost to be lower, given the emergency nature of the call the price was appropriate and fair.
Description of Work: The furnace was out and we called for emergency weekend service.

+ -1 moreHe arrived on time. Checked the furnace filter. Removed all panels and condenser fan to wash coil. Checked a/c per his check list. Cleaned a/c of dirt, juniper branches and leaves. Replaced furnace filter with a higher quality one. Suggested I purchase a replacement filter with one from Hooley since they less expensive than Home Depot, etc. The entire work took approximately an hour.

+ -1 moreBefore we hired this company, we hired 2 other HVAC companies to troubleshoot what was wrong with our split unit air conditioner. Both had different answers as to why it wasn't working, but both told us we'd need a new unit ranging from $3,500 to $5,500. At that point we obtained bids from a few HVAC companies to replace our unit. When Gary Hooley Heating and A/C came to our house to provide an estimate for the new unit, they suggested that our old unit might actually only need a minor repair. We agreed to pay for their technician to come out and troubleshoot. He identified and fixed 2 minor repairs for a little over $100 and the A/C unit worked great all summer. We appreciated their honesty in identifying potential repairs when we were asking for quote to replace the whole unit. But we were also very appreciative of their technical skills - they were able to troubleshoot the problem and fix it when 2 other companies that we paid to work on the unit were unable to do so.

+ -1 moreThe technician was very prompt for our inital visit, but then I spent a couple of weeks trying to get a bid for the job before I gave up in frustration at the total lack of return emails and phone calls. Maybe my job is too small, but jeez, just tell me so I can move on. Also, this technician was personally recommended by my electrician, so he kind of screwed him over too.
Description of Work: I had them come to my house with the idea of giving me an estimate for installing the ductwork for a kitchen hood.

+ -1 moreI have had a good experience so far....all the professional aspects (Professionalism, punctuality, office manager/scheduler keeping me informed, etc) have all been excellent...the price seems in line with that type of work.....I am putting a price of 0.00 because each situation has varied in price, but all seems in line with HVAC maintainance companies. I have felt that they have completed jobs fine.....I must say that so far they have not had to face many serious breakage situations....mainly just minor routine maint on startup....so I cannot fairly say how they would do on major repair jobs yet. However, they would be the people I call if I did have a problem....I have always felt they were responsive and timely...they seem to be staffed so I never have to wait long when I request an appointment. So for now, I can only give them excellent rating. At least to-date, there is nothing for me to complain about.. [By the way, for all plumbing matters, I use the Fort Collins office of Benjamin Franklin....so Hooley is not a one-stop servicing
Description of Work: I have used Hooley for a few years for anything to do with Heating and Cooling (HVAC). I only marked 6/2/2011 because they happen to be doing a routine air conditioning startup for this summer. But I have used them for heating routine maint and cooling routine maint for a few years, after finally being unhappy with the service from another vendor. I rain into the company because when I became unhappy with the other vendor, I just looked in the phonebook for companies that service Rheem units and this company was prominently listed. ]

+ 0 moreJust OK. The issue I had was that I never received a written estimate of the services they priced, my fault, I guess. I should have insisted on a written estimate because things that were discussed such as duct sealing were not included in the price. Most of the other contractors I have been dealing with have provided me with prompt and detailed estimates by e-mail. I got the impression they weren't that thrilled to be working on my small project and I should have found someone else.
Description of Work: They air sealed the rim joists of my house. They did an OK job. The techs were on time and professional.

+ -1 moreI got him from the phone book. He came out in the fall to do a standard check-up on my air conditioning. Again, he came out during last month when my heating fan went out. It cost me around $350. The price seemed reasonable to me. However, I didn’t compare the prices with that of other companies. He and his crew came out within a couple of hours on a freezing cold day, when my heating fan wasn’t working. They came out on time. I liked them a lot. The fan works fine currently. I will use them again in the future.
