We were faced with an unusual appraisal situation that required removal of stones from a ring and an independent gem evaluation. We looked over several jewelers and shops in the area before choosing Garwood’s. Garwood’s was very professional and understanding of our situation, and provided expert gemologist handling of metal and stones with an appraisal at very fair terms (the stone removal was $50 and the appraisal of the now loose diamonds was $60). The staff was always quite courteous and accommodating, and we were treated as if we had been long-standing clients. They seem to enjoy a very excellent (and well deserved) reputation in the community. We would definitely do business with them again if the opportunity arose.

Was fitted for correct size and was shown one stone was loose in setting. Took a detailed inventory of the pieces that I left for repair and gave me a copy. Upon receipt, I signed a copy showing that I had received same pieces.

I had had the ring resized almost 20 years ago and, after wearing the ring nearly every day for those past years, the joint finally broke. They were extremely understanding of the sentimental value attached to the ring. The repair is flawless! The earrings were reset in white gold and they are beautiful. One of the most important things to me is that they keep all items in-house, so there is no chance of something being lost in the mail, and, had my ring gotten lost, I would have truly been heart-broken as it cannot be replaced (it was acquired on another continent). Having said all that, they are a bit on the expensive side, but as far as I am concerned, the cost was well worth it, given the peace of mind and quality of the work.

The sales associate installed a watch battery and offered to polish my wife's wedding ring. The ring polish was a complimentary service. Once the ring was polished, the ring was examined for "wear/tear" issues. There were no issues. Overall, the experience was great. The associate was very friendly and professional. In the future, we may consider purchasing jewelry from this outfit.
