Exodus Moving & Storage

So far terrible. Our pick up price doubled and we are still waiting for our stuff. And because their contract suits only them my family will most likely wait till next mont for our belongings as we sit in an empty home. Jim is very unprofessional. He will offer no solution, he will just yell about how it’s all in the contract as you sit in your home with nothing. We will be relocating another home in the family next month and not using Cali exodus…it can’t get any worse Update 6/25: so I lied, it can get worse!!! Much worse…They arrived with our belongings today and our most expensive possessions were destroyed!!! Our 3k fridge has dents and scratches all over it, they stored it somewhere that somehow got water into the fridge and caused rancid molding, my 75 inch Sony tv that costed nearly 4K absolutely destroyed. My water dispenser destroyed, my $500 dining table bench destroyed, my 2k king bed set destroyed. What is the purpose of this horrible service? Solely rip people off. I spent $8000 for them to move these items and now I will have to spend another eight to $10,000 to replace them never trust them Cali exodus are scam artist. Pics below.. We haven’t even began to unpack our boxes yet and I am afraid of what I’ll find since a good portion of them look crushed on the outside. ***ALSO don’t be fooled by the merchants response here. We haven’t agreed to remove anything. Cali exodus is harassing us and basically trying to blackmail us into removing this completely accurate review. I was told by Kate that if we don’t remove this review they will not address any of the issues. Which is coming down to about $4K in damages and loss. We will be filing a separate complaint with department of transportation the better business bureau and any other entity we can find. Until I get a check or deposit reversal for at least 3K I won’t be removing any reviews. My family and I moved across state and are now 4K in the hole. Thanks to Cali exodus… Julia Morreale is not the same person, she is my wife and her review is also 100% honest…Cali Exodus is THE WORST….

Terrible. Arrived late with time unaccounted for at both locations. They were rude, did not follow directions. Furniture was scratched, gouged and broken. Dishes and glassware broken. they did not put furniture and boxes where they were told. I had to have friends help me put things right. Did not set up beds as agreed. Filing a complaint was pointless. I want to keep my name and address confidential as was threatened by them when I did not want to pay until I had assessed damages. They refused to leave until I paid so I did.

He did some of the packing of stuff that I didn't get done and did a great job. I'd recommend him to anybody.

Exodus quoted us a max price of $5500 after looking through our entire house. We then rented our own 16 ft. truck and filled it completely with our heaviest belongings (granite counters, appliances, solid wood furniture, etc.) We used Exodus to move the rest, which was not very much, thinking that this would save us a lot of money. After all our own work and money renting an extra truck and loading it, it ended up only shaving $500 off the total cost! We were very confused as to how the price was still so high after we moved all our heaviest belongings ourselves.

They picked up our stuff from a storage place. They delivered it to us at our new home. They were on time and professional.

Would not recommend. Their initial quote was WAY off. In fact, we paid almost double the quote on both ends of the move. They took much longer moving us out and in that was necessary. This included multiple breaks throughout the day. The cost of the hourly moving rate was much higher than we expected because they took so long. When they moved us into our house last May, the guys would complain every time I told them a piece of furniture was to go upstairs or to the basement,. Finally, I said to them, "You are movers aren't you?" By no means were we rude. We provided coffee and lunch to the guys. We were just not impressed with the quality of service. There are definitely better options out there. I would not use Exodus ever again.

The initial bid process was great. We felt comfortable with the Fort Collins manager, Jake, who came to our home and gave us a quote. He made us feel like we were making a great choice and was cheaper than the other companies we had contacted. He told us our things would be the only items in our truck. On the packing day - the truck showed up with additional items from another families move - the movers broke several items including a glass door and had no way of cleaning up the glass. Thankfully, they had forgotten to pack the vacuum (which I discovered after they left) so I was able to vacuum it up - the night that they were supposed to drop off our items they were supposed to call and confirm. They never did and did not answer the phone. When we contacted the emergency contact (Jake in fort collins) he also did not answer so we had no idea if our items had actually made it - we were promised that only trained moving crews would unload our items. It was quite obvious when our items were being unpacked that the individuals assisting the driver were hired day laborers from town - they placed all of the items in one room despite the boxes being labeled and doors being labeled for unpacking - the driver tried to leave and "get his truck fixed" and left a disassembled elliptical in the lawn. It was obvious he was not planning to come back (his day laborers had already been paid and left) but thankfully we picked up on it and he did come back - multiple items were broken in the move: butcher block, elliptical, an antique china cabinet, lawn mower and many others. -Also, multiple scuffs were made in paint througout the entire house. I could go on for hours about how terrible this experience was. They hire smooth talkers to give estimates and make people feel comfortable but they quality of their work and customer service is as sub par as you can possibly get. Do yourselves a favor and avoid this company at all costs. -

This team: Shawn,Autum,Juan,Donnie, Mike and Scott, came to both homes on time. They toured the home near Wellington to plan their work and began working like a well trained military unit. Protecting the carpet with runners and cardboard. They wrapped in plastic and blankets all of the furniture. This was a bigger than average move about 17000 lbs I believe.They finished this part of the move in about 6 hours.Four days later(one day following the closing on the new home) they unloaded all of these items at the home in west Greeley with the same precision and care. Not one item was scratched or broken. My wife and I are both retired federal Managers and have moved for promotions several times in the past, so we have a pretty good frame of reference and experience in this. This was by far our best move in our thirty six working years.We were very impressed. Because we packed earlier about 130 boxes we saved (as Jason the Exodus Estimator predicted) about 2500.0 and because that very professional team performed their tasks so quickly, less time than estimated was taken to complete the job, saving even more money. Everyone we encountered in this event, from the Estimator (Jason) to the Exodus office personnel Kelly and others, were very professional,and honest, their work lived up to and surpassed their promises of cost, performance and quality. This team worked so well together that we laughed, joked and in general had a good time moving out of one home and moving into the next. My wife and I talked about it for days after. We are pretty sure that these employees really like what they do and they like the company they work for.Our hats off to Exodus moving and storage and their great staff. If you are planning a move locally or anywhere in this country, I highly recommend that you pick Exodus Moving and Storage for the job.

The two men who moved me, "Mike and Jarvis" were simply AWFUL! They argued with each other the entire day, which made the entire process very unpleasant in having to hear their bickering all day long. When they first arrived at the house, it took them 10 minutes to park the truck, arguing the entire time! So it started out and unpleasant and got worse tolerating that all day long. I am a gray-haired 70-year-old lady all by myself and they definitely took advantage of me by dragging their feet, doing everything VERY slowly, and taking extra time to argue with each other about everything all day long! They spent 20 minutes arguing about how to load the truck, of all things. (And even though they argued about it, they still did not get everything into the truck. I had to come back to the house and move several items MYSELF that they had to leave behind!) I was beside myself that they were so unskilled as not be able to load things from a two-bedroom house, and leave items behind that I had to come back to the house and move myself! Also, during the day, they made no effort to hide their discontent with working for Exodus! They both stated that they did not make enough money at the job, and were very unhappy with their lots as movers for Exodus. This was very disconcerting for me and extremely inappropriate. I have move at least 11 times, and have never had such a stressful experience with a moving company! I would caution anyone from using this company. They may have crews who are better at their jobs, and not so blatant about taking advantage of an older lady, but any company who would have such a crew as Mike and Jarvis on their payroll should not be considered! They also broke a piece of glass from my TV stand, but I was so upset with the entire experience that I could not make myself approach the company to file a claim with them - I simply wanted nothing more to do with them! If they would allow a crew to take advantage of an older lady by adding hours to the job and be very unpleasant all day; they would probably also argue with me about the broken glass. It just was not worth it. They also put nicks in my good dining room table, but I again, did not have the fortitude to face them about it, I just wanted to get the horrible experience as far behind me as possible!

They were good. They will go anywhere, pick up your stuff and bring it back or even take it wherever else you want it.

We used Exodus to relocate from Greeley, CO to Windsor, CO. This mover used the classic bid low and charge high. They came out to our house and gave us an estimate of $2,700.00 with a total labor time of 9.5 hours. The loading portion of the move took 10.5 hours alone and cost $3,400.00, then for them to come a deliver our items took an additional 8.5 hours and $1500.00. Twice the estimated time and twice the cost. Either their estimator did not know what he was doing or he purposely estimated low to get the work. Either way it is unethical, unprofessional and they should be embarrassed ripping people off. On top of the price issue, they broke at least 10 items and damaged our walls moving the furniture in all of which was noted on the final paperwork. No calls or follow up on how to get the walls fixed and items replaced even though we had the insurance. Update: Exodus estimator did call after initial review and we did get a small refund for a portion of the moving costs.

The appointment went fine, and the estimator went through our house and promised to email an estimate. The problem was, it took a week to get the estimate. The estimate was a bit higher than the other companies, but the delay cost us five days in our moving schedule because when we called the company we selected, they were booked.

The estimate was done on site in our home and in our storage unit and was only slightly over the actual cost. The estimator was professional, curtious and helpful and made suggestions on where we could save money by doing all or some of our own packing, eliminating unnecessary weight like weight sets and other items we could donate/sell or replace at our destination cheaper than moving them, and using our home owners insurance to cover the move rather than buying 3rd party insurance. We were able to purchase used boxes from Exodus for dish packs, mirrors, framed art pictures and wardrobe for $1 each ($7.50 for used wardrobe boxes). These boxes were heavy duty and stronger than most used boxes you get from stores and friends, etc. They gave us all the used packing paper we needed and explained how to pack our dishes and other breakables. We saved quite a bit by packing a lot of our belongings and with their instructions and You Tube videos on how to do your own packing, we were very successful and did not have any breakage or damage. We packed antique dishes, table lamps, computer and stereo equipment, art pictures, collectables and so on. Watching them pack other of our belongings, I believe they were fully capable of doing the job without loss or breakage. I was able to drop in to the Exodus office in Fort Collins anytime I needed more boxes and paper and to ask questions about the move. They were very curtious and helpful and were never bothered by my questions and phone calls. We gave Exodus only about two weeks notice of our move date and they scheduled it without any problem (we moved on December 4th). They gave us the exact time the movers would arrive and how many there would be (there were 6). Due to a snow storm and sub-freezing weather, they were an hour late, but when they arrived, they went right to work and told us what and how they would proceed. One of their crew took inventory and stickered every item for identification. The inventory showed which items we had packed and which they had packed. Including the items they packed, it took them about 5 hours to complete our house and another hour to empty our 10x25 storage and load our Jeep, minus a couple of 10 minute breaks, a quick lunch and travel time from our house to our storage. The snow and freezing weather did not slow them much, but was very uncomfortable for them at times, but I did not hear any complaints. The moving van left on time after presented me with the bill of lading, which the driver reviewed with me before I approved and signed, and paying him one half of the extimated cost before the 2nd weighing of the van. He planed on making as many miles as possible that night and told me he would keep me informed of the road conditions by cel phone. Due to the weather and the need for us to load our van, a small car and a small uhaul with items the movers could not take (all explained beforehand) and some other stuff we over-estimated would fit the two cars we were driving, we did not leave until the next day. The driver kept his word and informed us that the roads were clear from Fort Collins to Colorado Springs and to come ahead as soon as we could. Later that night as we were stopped at a filling station, he called to inform us that he was turned back on the pass between Las Vegas, NM and Santa Fe due to the storm, and he would be staying in Las Vegas and suggested we do the same. Next morning he called and then stopped by our hotel to talk about getting over the pass and letting us know how it was before we started. Long story short, all went well and the van was only a few hours late getting to Las Cruces (arrive at 1PM to start unloading). We arrived an hour after the van and they were already taking things off the van and ready to move into our new home as soon as we opened the door. I enjoyed working with Exodus from start to finish. They are fully registered and licensed and have an excellent driving record. They do their own moving and do not contract to 3rd party movers, which is more accountable and I think more reliable. They provided us with a folder full of information about the company, info required by professional movers organization, fees, available packing materials, a sample contract, tips for organizing your move and tasks to be completed beforehand and web sites to look up for checking up on their licensing and registration and safety record. They did not hide anything. We had not moved for 34 years and did our own moving back then. This was a new experience in our retirement years and I was not about to do an interstate move on our own. We are glad we chose Exodus and would use them again.

Worst experience, some of our belongings got wet, had to be thrown away. 200 yr old antique cupboard smashed in the back. Dresser ruined, We lost so many items due to their negligence. I would caution everyone never to use them for a move. Several items were lost, haven't even found them yet. This was a very expensive, large move, and we should have had the care and concern for our belongings. We took pictures of damage, etc. but not much recourse, only .60 cents per pound. they have a good initial contact person, he makes you feel like it is worth it and that they are professional, but the move experience it self was the worst nightmare we have ever delt with.

Would highly recommend. Beat the competitors price by 4K and gave me a NTE contract. Couldn't ask for a better deal- Great Company!

The original quote was for "about $500." When it was all said and done, the move cost us about $1000. They charge for their labor rate for the travel time to and from their location. On one side, they charge 30 minutes travel for a 5 minute return trip to their facility. One other note, their didn't do an accurate inventory of the items when loaded and I had to do the checking when they were unloaded. It will make me sure to get a solid quote in writing on any future moves and make sure I have a full inventory of what is being loaded before they show up.

Excellent driver got into impossible driveway without crushing landscaping or irrigation. Packers were quick. At end of day of packing, I discovered a drawer in the kitchen which had been entirely skipped as well as a closet in the bathroom that had been skipped. They packed them without objection, but their supervisor should have done a walkthru to prevent oversights like this. Noticed at unpack that many boxes were entirely mislabeled. Move went well and they were responsive on placing items in the new place. Almost no damage. Three glass items broken and one fragile antique table suffered support crack along back side .. had been overloaded. Given damage on any move, this was all within my expectations. They managed to come in under budget and had been less expensive than their competitors on estimate, so it was a bargain. I was surprised that they never followed up with me about 'how it went'.

We were very happy with the move. We were told the truck would be at our house at eight in the morning and it was. The workers were hard working and courteous. They made sure they cleaned up after themselves. We were given two different quotes after we had an in house estimate done. One quote was if we wanted the truck to deliver our things on a specific date. The other quote was for a flexible delivery date. The discount for a flexible delivery date was substantial and we opted to let the deliver the things when they could since we were in no hurry to put it into a storage unit. The truck delivered out items two weeks after loading it up. I was called two days before delivery and told what day delivery would be and I was given a one hour window when it should get to the storage unit. The day before delivery, the driver of the truck called to verify delivery and gave me an exact time to meet him at the storage unit. He was waiting for me when I got there. Very precise, no waiting around for them. There was a local crew hired to unload the truck and it was done very quickly. The made sure everything was packed into the unit for me so everything would fit and even left room for a washer and dryer we had to add later. Our items came in the same condition they left in. When they did see a ding they asked to make sure it was already there and they had not done the damage. They were a pleasure to work with.

There were several issues with this move. Two items were damaged (a dining table and the front glass on the washer). I have not reported to them the washer since it is just a cosmetic issue. The crew dropped the table and damaged the mechanism that allows it to be extended. They tried to cover this and fix it themselves but ended up drilling through the table. It took about 3 weeks to get it fixed. The repair work was somewhat acceptable (the sheen of the surface is different now). They have not apologized nor made sure that I am satisfied with this repair. They did not ask me to sign the paperwork when they delivered the table. There were some issues with logistics as well. The crew showed up at 8 am to unload instead at 1pm. They had to send them back home and bring them later (after my closing). The gentlemen from Exodus that handled this move was not very friendly. I have saved the email communication and one of his responses was totally unprofessional. The most of the crew members were polite. However, one of them asked my wife if he can have the bar stools since they will not fit our new kitchen. This is just totally unprofessional. I have used some smaller moving companies in the past. I wanted to try Exodus even they were more expensive. I just wanted a worry free move. My experience is that they are not better than those small companies (definitely not a better value).

The move went as smoothly as one could hope. Exodus provided us free used boxes beforehand, which we used to pack our home up. The movers arrived about five minutes early, they worked hard, and the entire move went quickly and trouble free.

It was great. They were on time and they were very efficient.

Went well with no surprizes.

people were professional, polite, no complaints. i am sure they would take good care of my belongings. but they never called back after estimate and their pricing is absolutely astronomical.

Do clear out unwanted items before the packers come; box, remove all liquids and flammables. Planning ahead is is good idea. Placing all the things together for each person is very helpful, especially for unpacking.
