A designer worked with me, made some suggestionsand sold me some til and a sink and fixtures. Also suggested a counter top which looks really god. The original designer left and the ones left over were not as responsive. Ivesince hired a new designer who is good and charges half the price. I aslo ended up buying 1000.00 wrth of tile becuase I changed my mind on the backsplash and they would not tak the old tile back as a return. This cost me 450.00. Through the process I also foud the same sink and faucette fixtures on amazon for less than half the price.
Description of Work: They had a designer work with mae and consult for 150.00 per hour.

carpet installation

Eheart Solutions was the installer of the carpet in my home although I am the second owner. I purchased the home from the original owner 2 months after they purchased it new from the developer. They had to move to the west coast due to a work transfer. The upper level corridor started to develop wrinkles in the carpet after about 12 months. The wrinkles continued to get worse over the next 12 months. I called Eheart Solutions, since they were the original installation contractor, and made an appointment for them to review the installation and recommend a solution. At the first meeting their representative stated that the original installation was defective and was the result of the carpet not being stretched adequately. He said it was a warranty issue and that although I was not the original owner of the property they could probably honor the warranty in this instance. They sent over a labor crew to attempt removal of the wrinkles. After about 1-1/2 hours, the workmen had accomplished minimal correction of the problem and in general just transfered the wrinkling from one area to another. The lead installer stated that it would just be easier to order new carpet for the corridor and start from scratch on the installation. He returned to the Eheart Shop and relayed his findings to my contact there. In my next phone coversation with them they stated that the carpet was still available and they would pull the file to determine how much carpet was required to replace the corridor. In addition they stated that they would have a sample sent direct from the manufacturer to determine if the available material would be an adequate match (which they did). About a week later I got a call from them stating that although it was a defective installation, the warranty was not transferable from the original owner to me but they would be happy to give me an estimate to purchase the new carpet and install it correctly. I received an estimate of $1,580 about a week later. To summarize my concern and complaint - which I stated to them: While I understand that the warranty was non-transferable, I felt that the estimate was extremely high for the material and labor proposed to correct their own defective installation. They were reluctant to give any further reasoning or logic for the pricing other than there were 24 square yards of material required and it was being priced by the yard. Upon subsequent inquiries with two other carpeting contractors I was given estimates of a maximum of 12 square yards of material required at an installed cost of about 60% less. I had one of the two contractors come to the house to review the work required and confirm the estimate. Upon review he determined that no new material was required and it would only be several hours to correct the problem. He then proceeded to stretch and reseam the existing carpet in about 3 hours and I paid a total final cost of $180 for the service.
Description of Work: 1- 1/2 hours of labor for a two person crew to attempt restretching corridor carpet. They left without fixing the defective areas. No charge for the work.
