Description of Work: Installed perimeter french drain in crawl space. |Connected french drain to sump and sealed sump with lexan cover. |Sealed crawl space dirt floor with radon membrane barrier. |Installed turbo vacuum radon fan and vent. | |I am pleased that this job took care of the annoying moisture problem that we had in the crawlspace. The crew worked efficiently and completed the job in a little under two days. The post job cleanup they performed was better than most.

When I had my roof inspected for possible replacement, the estimator noted that the vent pipe for the radon system was no longer sticking through its appointed space in our garage roof. The vent passes through the garage; I located the Drennen label and 1999 installation date right next to the manometer. I contacted them and they responded the next day. The contractor visited in the morning, diagnosed the problem and scheduled a return visit for later in the day. Two guys showed up at the appointed time, got into the crawl space above the garage, identified the problem (a broken plastic pipe hanger) and repaired it within 30 minutes. They observed that the system was working as intended and indicated that I would not receive a bill for what they had done. I was very pleased that they stood behind their work after 11 years. That act alone raised my estimation of their probity and increases the likelihood that I would use them in the future. Note to those installing radon remediation systems: The contractors may use flexible plastic pipe hangers because they speed installations up. While such hanger straps facilitate installation, in extreme temperatures, they may become either soft (if too hot) or embrittled (if too cold) and then break. Plastic hanger straps are an acceptable choice for places like insulated garages but aren't suitable for uninsulated, hard-to-get-to places like crawl spaces above garages.
