I tried everything to recharge my kindle, then my wife suggested I take it to Jim. Jim took it apart very carefully, tested the voltage on the charging circuit, and discovered that I needed to replace a piece for $10.00 inside the Kindle to charge it successfull in the future. The real cool thing is that Jim discovered if I hold the charging device, the point at which it connects to the Kindle to the right and up, it would show it charging. I could charge the kindle to %100 after this advice. He ordered the part, I am going back to him to install it. It is really great that in this throw away society I don't have to just throw the Kindle away, and buy another one priced at $429.00 at Amazon for the Kindle XDX- almost as much as an Ipad Mini! Jim is great to work with, very careful with all of the devices he works on. He will be my Kindle go to guy for sure. In addition, Amazon said they could not repair it, and Jim offered a solution where I could charge it while on my vacation and when I return, get the Kindle fixed. I recommend Jim for fixing laptops, computers and now Kindles! He is awesome.

Came to my home and watched the problems I was experiencing. Took the laptop back to his shop where he performed the hard drive testing, rebuild profile and backup. Works much better and he restored all my operating services. He promised to come help me install a new modem so I can get away from using Comcast rental units.

I have used them in the past and their fees are very reasonable. I think they're the best in the area. I had a problem with my computer during the holidays so I left a message on his machine. He was back in Illinois and within 10 minutes, he called me from Illinois and try to resolve the problem over the phone. This is while he was on vacation so I can't say enough good things about him. His name is Jim Williamson. He's outstanding.

Jim, is essentially the best person to work on your laptop/pc. I am a software engineer with loads of software experience, but little hardware experience, and after several frustrating attempts to reload my OS after a Windows 7 update killed it using a Cloud-based backup system, I gave up. I found Jim's name here at Angie's List. It is the best thing that has happened for me, he is so professional and knows quite a bit about laptops and he has the utilities that can diagnose and fix problems. He will give you free advice on what utilities he uses and you can use in the future. Really, was getting tired of being charged a flat $100.00 fee by Best Buy and another local computer company for years. These companies essentially gouged me for as much as they could, without a care regarding the outcome. Jim stays with you through the entire experience, he tells it like it is, giving you information and updates along the way. I appreciate his honesty and diligence frankly and wonder whether this is the way of computer repair-a single person to communicate with that is going to address your problems, communicate live with you, and be very thorough and honest. What a concept! He restored as many pictures as he could from my crashed system. Note to people here, don't reformat, or do a factory install of a system that has crashed-Jim will be able to perhaps save and reinstall your system.

After a very frustrating experience with one of the highly-advertised online and quot;faster PCand quot; companies, I found Jim; what a difference! Jim was very knowledegable, but also trustworthy and honest. His price was less than 1/3 of the previously referenced online option mentioned above. Jim explained everything to me in detail, saved me over $200 and accurately diagnosed my PC issue. Love this guy!

First, attempted a walk through over the phone - cheerfully and professionally. When that did not work, arranged a meeting that afternoon to work on the problem. Spent over an hour trying various recovery procedures. Worked out a process for recovering the last known instances of the registry.

Went perfectly smooth.

I was very pleased with the work. I had lingering issues afterwards but that was not due to the work already done, just the age of my computer. He explained things very well and was extremely knowledgable. I had a coupon for an extra hour of service included and he even spent more time than I paid for.

His name is Jim Williamson. He was just amazingly helpful and very, very reasonable. We couldn't say enough about him. He was terrific. He was a tremendous help. I was on AOL for email for my computer and he let us know that we could get the email for free. Ultimately he will pay for himself because of getting us off the monthly fee for AOL. He was a lot cheaper than we expected him to be. He came out right away.

He was thorough, professional, and patient. In addition, he explained everything he was doing in language that I could understand. I highly recommend him.
