CARPET MILL OUTLET

Description of Work: They replaced all the carpet in our house (1410 square feet). We signed the carpet contract in late Aug. 2014. The first installers came without all the carpet on Sept. 22, 2014 (over four hours late with no courtesy call). Also, the name on the carpet did not match what we bought. We were told by two Carpet Mill employees that the mills and different retail stores use different carpet names ("private labeling") for the same carpet to "make it difficult to price compare their carpets". The first installation was on Sept. 25-27, 2014. Installers did good job upstairs in master bedroom, but poor job on patterned carpet in downstairs family room and two bedrooms. Two very bad seams, two miss-cut outside corners and several other issues. Carpet Mill went ahead and charged our credit card for the second half of the agreed amount without our acceptance of the work. Workmanship was bad enough that all downstairs carpet had to be taken up to match the die-lot and new carpet was installed on Dec. 16, 2014. We also had $201.69 in damages done to wall and trim paint, one broken picture frame and two sprung cabinet hinges. Carpet Mill agreed to credit us for the $201.69 in damages, but as of Feb. 3, 2015 this credit has not been applied to our credit card. It took about three months to finally get the installation done correctly (Sept. 22 to Dec. 16). Local customer service was very poor. Many phone calls were not returned even after being promised a return call. Many run-arounds. Several commitments were not kept. In a final act of desperation, I called the district manager in Denver on Nov. 21, 2014 and complained about the poor customer service and was able to get a re-installation scheduled for Dec. 16, 2014. This was almost four months after we signed the original contract with Carpet Mill. My wife and I were badly inconvenienced and stressed throughout this ordeal. Never again will we do business with this company!

Description of Work: REPLACED OLD CARPET IN THE BASEMENT OF A HOUSE. THEY REMOVED THE OLD CARPET AND THEN PUT THE NEW CARPET IN. THEY SEEMED TO BE VERY WELL TRAINED IN THEIR PROFESSION.
