Brock of All Trades

Due to a leak in the shower tile, we decided to have a mini-remodel done of our master bathroom, that included removing a separate jetted tub and shower, and placing a new tub/shower combo. We also had a new tile floor installed, with radiant heating. We encountered a magnitude of problems along the way with this company, including taking twice as long, difficult to get a hold of, didn't communicate well, etc. The biggest problem, however, was due to the tile floor (specifically, the radiant heating). Upon completing the project, we were told that we could use the heating system (it had only been 2 weeks since the flooring was installed). About a month later, my husband noticed the grout was cracking. Contractor came back and replaced some grout. A month later, same thing, with same solution from Brock. Then a third round of cracked grout. This time, upon our insistence, the tile company came out and diagnosed that the thin set was "cooked" due to the heating system being turned on too soon. Some tiles were demo'd and most re-set...even though they were damaged during the demo process. Still, if the problem was fixed, we were going to live with the chipped tiles. However, about a month later, more cracked grout ( and this was now summer, when no heating had been turned on). The contractor's answer was to come out and do the same thing again...which as we already saw didn't fix the problem. When we presented our solution to the contractor of having a tiling expert investigate, salvage if possible, and have the original guy pay (since we are still in warranty), not only did he say no, he lied to the tiling expert about us wanting to have him come out. Further he accused us of damaging the floor tiles that he had installed prior. We ended up having the floor replaced by the tiling expert, who upon removing tiles noted that there was approximately half the prescribed amount of thin set used, and that the tiles would have failed to hold no matter if the heating system was turned on early or not. We would NEVER use this contractor again as he is unprofessional and unethical. DO NOT USE THIS GUY!! He is unprofessional and unethical. Brock runs one company into the ground and starts up a new one. The above work was done under the name Just Remodeling and Design. We sued Brock, got a judgement and he has spent the past two years opening and closing accounts to hide from his financial obligations. Eventually, he closed Just Remodeling and Design and now operates under the name Brock of All Trades (master of nothing!!).
