Probably the worst business experience I have ever had with a company. We were promised the landscape design would be completed in 3 weeks. I took 3 and 1/2 months and I given every excuse except the truth. I was told the computer was broken then the plotter was not working - for 3 months, really??? I order the designs in May so I could work on the landscape over the summer but didn't receive the plan until August, the end of summer. Order grass sod the next day after I received the plan, so I would know how much to order. The sod was install 9/15, the last day of the year to install sod so it will have a chance to take root and survive the winter. The install was to include grading the surface and rolling a weight over the sod to remove air gap. None of this was included. I had to spend 2 hours tightening up the gaps between the grass sections and overlapping sections. I worked laying sod for a landscape company in college and ran the maintenance crew, so I know a good job from a lousy one. This one from Bath Nursery was the worst I had ever seen. To top it all off, when Bath sent me the bill they over charged $150. I left a half dozen voice mails because none of the mangers ever had the time to take my phone call and never bothered to return my calls. So, I sent what I owned with letter explaining the billing error. The manager wrote me a letter and said they were throwing my check in the trash and sent me to collections. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The BBB dinged Bath because they never bother to return their calls or letter either. I later got a summon to court, but produced the check documentation and the collection agency withdrew the court complaint. I paid the collection agency the amount of the check Bath through in the trash because they promised it would not be reported as a collection and not show up on credit reports. They lied too, just like the Bath manager and design staff. Stay away from BATH GARDEN CENTER AND NURSERY

It was an awful experience. First contracted with Bath to create a front and backyard landscape design in May. We were told it would take 3 – 4 weeks to complete so we could start working the plan at the start of summer. After 4 weeks I started calling every week for a status update. I got a different excuse each week like the computer was broken, next the plotter was broken, then the plotter was waiting on supplies. I work in the computer field and even offer to help look at the equipment but was turned down probably because none of it was true. I assume they just had quoted too many jobs for the summer and could not get them all done. Finally after 4 months and at the end of summer we were given the plan. Next, they offered a nice price to buy and install sod for about the same cost that I could purchase the sod a long. They said they could install in about a month. Turns out it was 2 and ½ month on the last day of the year to safely install sod so that it has a chance to grow and get thru the winter - September 15. The sod install was to include grading the ground and mashing the sod in place. They did neither. I work for a landscaper in college so I had some knowledge about quality installs. I had to spend a few hours fix the loose connections and air gaps left throughout the lawn. To make matters worse they over charged me $150 on top of the contracted prices. When I paid them the contracted prices. The manager wrote me a letter bragging about throwing my check in the trash can. I filed a complaint with the BBB and the BBB got no response and gave Bath a negative rating. Later Bath sent me to collections. The collection company ignored my sent check evidence and files a court case. Later they withdrew the case when they found out they would lose. I then paid the collection company the amount I paid Bath 2 years earlier because they promised to remove negative reports they had submitted to collection agencies. The collection company lied and I still has 2 negative reports filed with credit reporting agency. Conclusion: Don’t ever pay collection agency money. Pay the business directly. If the business throws your check in the trash just cancel the check.

I am impressed with the quality and honesty of the workers at Bath. I went in there needing to buy plants to do some landscaping. I was going to buy more plants then I needed to and the person working there asked me about the space I was using and told me not to buy the extra plants because they would spread on their own within a few years. It always impresses me when a sales person does something to not make a sale.
