This guy is a con artist and a rip-off. He did not perform ANY actual labor. He told so many lies that he couldn't remember them all. He uses the following aliases on Craig's List: Discount Hard scape Design, Low Cost Hard scape, Discount Roofing, AAA Hauling and Landscape, AAA Property Services, Low Cost Roofing etcetera ad nausea. Of course, NONE of them are real, none are rigid with the Secertary of State Trade Name Verification Site online. He is currently using this Phone #(970) 430-1176. He is a medium build guy with short red hair, light blue eyes, wears Carhart brown Jeans and hiking boots and is driving a red F 350 with a dump box bed liner. If you encounter him, take down as much info. as possible and report it to the Ft. Collins Police Fraud Division immediately.
Description of Work: This guy runs about 30 ads daily on Craig's List, ranging from drywall to roofing to landscaping, but does none of the above; what he does is con you out of a deposit and disappear. Or, he hires subcontractors to do some of your work to string you along and ask for more advances and takes your money but does not pay them, then you have a lien on your house and have to pay twice. When we hunted him down to try to get our money back, we found rental companies, landlords, contractors, suppliers, and consumers that he had bilked. There are some 41 cases in Larimer County Public Records in his name.

Richard Winger gave us an estimate for some dirt work, and fence, then concrete, and then drywall. He SEEMED personable, friendly, professional. Here's the first red flag: an expert specializes in just one field and does it well. He asks for half up front. Here's your second red flag. A reputable contractor has enough reserves to get to the job. Why would you pay any down payment on labor, anyway? But, like total idiots, we gave him a down payment and scheduled the work on the first week of July. What followed was one elaborate excuse after another why nothing was ever started, and then came an odd request for another advance. At least we had the brains to refuse this. A month passed. He sent out a subcontractor who refused to do any work unless we paid him personally. Could any flag be redder than this? His own subcontractor doesn't trust him anymore. He offered us a discount if we would advance him more money for the still zero work done. Uh oh, there is a bigger red flag.......when you realize you have given your money to a professional con artist. For awhile he returned our calls and made more excuses and told so many lies he seemed to not be able to remember them all. Then, he basically just evaporated. He would sometimes return our calls, sometimes not, sometimes hang up. The drawings he showed us turned out to be someone else's work. The references he gave us were false. When we contacted the local people and businesses he mentioned they all said they had, or were seeking, judgements against him. He advertises on Craig's List, variously as,AAA Hauling & Landscape, Low Cost Roofing, Discount Rooofing, Discount Patio Design, Discount Hardscape Design, et al., all using (970) 430-1176. None of these are real entities. That is why he asks you to make the check out to him personally. But, like Dumb and Dumber, we had already given him money. And don't know where to find little red riding hood, who is actually a red wolf. We hunted him down using the internet and with tenacity and the help of many of his other victims we located him. Only when we said we were going to the police did he cough up our cash. Others we have met were not so lucky. Lots of Others.
Description of Work: Never give a down payment to a service contractor, ever. Give payment in the business name only, when all work is completed to your satisfaction. If subcontractors are going to work on your property, make them sign a waiver of lien, or you might end up paying twice. Never do business with a stranger. Only do business with reputable, local businesses personally recommended by someone you trust. Check the BBB. See if the business is registered with the Secretary of State. Check Angie's List.
