+ 1 moreWorking with this company from the techs to the owner was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any company.
Description of Work: DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!- I called their technicians out to my home in order to fix the auger on my pellet stove. After fixing the auger, their tech comes to me and says, "we fixed the auger, but now we cannot get the blower to work". This blower was working fine beforehand. I asked them if they would be fixing the part they broke and their response was that they could fix it for 250.00 on top of the 340 they charged me to fix the auger. So, now they not only broke a part that was working fine before, but they are trying to charge me around 500 in total. I escalated this to the owner of the company, who was extremely unresponsive (waited 2 weeks to hear back from him) and reluctant to even address the problem. He basically said I was wrong and it wasn't working before, which he would have no way of knowing as he never even examined the poor work performed by his team. In sum, I would never let these con artists in my home or touch anything as they will try to gouge you even on parts that they themselves have broken. I used another local competitor to correct the issues they caused and not only was it cheaper, they actually were pleasant to work with. Stay away from Mountain Man Fireplace!!!!

+ 0 moreThis company is always does excellent work. They work to accomadate special requests which is incredibly rare in this day and age. They are professionals in every sense of the word. We have used them for about 10 years and would highly recommend them to anyone.

+ -1 moreThey did a great job and were extremely and quot;neatand quot;--putting down towels so as not to track in soot, vacuuming up their and quot;messand quot;. Also, I asked (on the fly) about dryer vent cleaning, and they added that to the job on the spot and did a GREAT job.
Description of Work: Cleaned my WELL-creosoted chimney from a wood-burning stove, AND cleaned my matted-with-lint and dangerous dryer vent.

+ -1 moreOverall it worked out alright. I was quoted a price by a woman who I was told had since been fired for quoting too low and then was told that I had to pay extra. The did appear to do a good job but we had to pay more than we were told. I did call the owner and told him about the cost and he told me that if I didn't like that I had to pay extra he would just tell his men to leave the job right then. The gentlemen that came out was very polite.
Description of Work: I used a Big Deal for Mountain Man Fireplace & Chimney to clean the chimney and fireplace.

+ -1 moreI like their service. They are very professional and do a good job. Their price is average, I know there are some people that do it cheaper but I do not know if I trust them but these guys are trustworthy. The owner of the company Jake, has actually cleaned chimney in The White House. They let chimney sweeps that rank-high come do it for free, but he has been asked to clean different chimneys. He would not do just anybody's. He has also cleaned our chimney, I like him but now he has different people that work for him. In the old days I used to get Jake, now I get some of his workers. They tell me what is going on. Once they had come back to do work for free because we had a problem that was actually quite complicated but since I am a good customer of theirs they did not charge me. They have good quality service, they are honest and keep records on me. They do let me know when there is a problem.
Description of Work: I use Mountain Man Fireplace & Chimney. I use them every summer since 1996. They monitor have two different chimneys and a wood stove.

+ -1 moreWe have a large chimney arrangement that serves a wood burning stove and some natural path surfaces. The process of cleaning is a little more complicated than other system reviews; it’s hard for me to describe it. Mountain Man Fireplace and Chimney did what they committed to do; within, the time frame that they committed. The workers; the two gentlemen, who came here were very cordial and worked quickly and cleanly. The estimate they gave us was very close to the actual cost that turned out to be. They were very competitive with their prices.
Description of Work: Mountain Man Fireplace and Chimney inspected and cleaned the chimney for us sometime during the last quarter probably, in October of 2011.

+ -1 moreOustanding! Sherilyn was very customer service oriented was able to meet our timing, budget, and scope of work. We bought a house in Morrison and the fireplaces needed TLC. This company made all three look brand new! I couldn't believe the results. They were very courteous and completed the work on time as promised. They also provided a list of suggested improvements/safety hazards that we might want to consider doing.
Description of Work: Cleaned and maintenanced three very dirty fireplaces/pellet stoves in Morrrison.

+ -1 moreDuring the inspection Jake noticed a gap in the back of the firebox where two panels didn't meet and also that the cement crown was beginning to crumble. He recommended that both problems be fixed and what it would take. I hired this company based on their Better Business Bureau report and because they are a members of the National Chimney Sweep Guild.
Description of Work: Wood burning fireplace and flue swept. We have a masonry fireplace, cast panel firebox, and clay tiles in the flue. Work took approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
