We were updating our house and Ben and helper, Oliver, tore out polished travertine and retiled the entry in slate, took carpet out of a powder room and retiled in porcelain, removed really solid, block Mexican tiles from an interior walkway in the basement going from garage door to stairway and retiled in porcelain plank tiles, removed old tile and retiled hall bath floor as well as completely re-tiled the tub surround all the way to ceiling, tore out shower in master bath and retiled to ceiling, tore out floor in master and retiled, including tile baseboards. Ben also did decorative tile borders around the new counter tops in the powder room and master bath. Ben worked hard to give me the look I wanted, placing each slate tile in the entry in the pattern that I wanted. He also did some very nice decorative touches in the tub surround, with a resin soap shelf and two recessed shelf areas. We used very small travertine tiles along the edge of each side of the tub surround. Looks very nice. He also did a recessed shelf in the master shower. Ben was always on time and just a generally very nice guy. He never deviated from his quoted price and has been very easy to work with on a couple of minor problems with cracked grout after the job was completed. He came back right away to fix the problems, which I have found to sometimes be a difficulty with even the most professional contractors. He was very easy to work with as far as coordinating scheduling with the other contractors we used for plumbing, cabinetry, etc. Ben was also helpful to me in suggesting ways to have a visual impact to the renovation, while keeping the budget in control. His work only included the labor, as I selected and paid for all the tile separately. However, two of the tiles that I used came from his supplier and he passed his discount on to me. Although it wasn't necessary, he also offered to pick up any of my tile purchases for me in his truck. I rounded up his invoices and he seemed really appreciative, unlike some of the contractors I used who seemed to expect a gratuity even when the work was not totally satisfactory. Ben is totally trustworthy; many times I left him here working while I ran errands, etc. and I never worried about a thing. I wouldn't hesitate to use Ben again.

He removed the existing base and about two levels of tile above the base. Then he rebuilt the base and installed a decorative rock floor instead of tile. He replaced the tiles on the side walls with tile that matched the existing. A glass shower enclosure had to be removed to do the work. A good job was done reinstalling the enclosure. We were very pleased with the results. And the price was reasonable compared to other estimates we received.
Description of Work: Greentree repaired the base of our master shower (that was poorly done by an earlier remodeling contractor) that didn't drain well and was leaking.
