We are very happy with Viking's service. We did a lot of research before signing with them. The first meeting was really impressive as they showed us how they manage the projects. We really like that they sent us a weekly update using MS project. This helps us to see the progress. We decided to go with a contractor to have less headaches. It was a great investment. They used a window to access the basement so we hardly knew that they were there. They provided a list with allowances and we purchased the titles, carpet, etc. The estimate in those allowances were perfect. During their work, they noticed a problem with our radon system so they also helped us to talk with that contractor and fix the problem. They finished the basement one week in advance and during that time we had a baby and they made our life really easy. Eric is really good at responding to our requests and it was a pleasure to work with him. We consider ourselves very demanding and always expecting the best. The team at Vikings really met our expectations.

The work was completely quickly, professionally and cleanly. We were staying in our house while the work was completed and the VCB team kept the house clean after each work day. Erik, the owner, stayed in touch with me regarding fixtures and choices throughout the process. Part of our remodel involved removing bamboo flooring and replacing it. VCB went out their way to pick up the flooring for us. We like using VCB because they provide design advice and are always as cost effective as possible. The team is friendly, responsible and efficient.

Viking brought in a port-a-let so that they would not need to utilize our restroom facilities. They always entered and exited through the basement directly so disruption to our daily routine was minimal. They submitted and stuck to a project schedule. Estimated project costs submitted at the beginning were precise. They cleaned up every day so that there was no huge mess when we needed to access the basement ourselves. They were very helpful in providing aesthetic recommendations for our material choices. The basement finish was not issue-free, but Viking dealt with each issue promptly and professionally. One of their subcontractors broke and failed to clean up or replace a CFL bulb in our mechanical room. These bulbs contain mercury which was of concern to me since I was pregnant at the time. Viking cleaned up the bulb themselves and apologized profusely. Viking also employed a subcontractor to install recessed glass shelving for the electronic components in our media room. As soon as we placed the components on the shelves, the shelves dislodged from the wall and fell. Erik and Viking made sure that their subcontractor returned promptly and secured the shelves properly. Since we have had the basement finished, several friends in the construction and remodeling industry have commented on the quality of the finish. We have not had any issues since the job was completed. We're very satisfied.

The time frame worked with our schedule. Erik used only top quality products. He was very receptive to our choices of color, tile, carpet and lighting fixtures. One of the most outstanding issues was the fact they cleaned every spec of dust and dirt. The basement was move in ready when they were finished. Erik also stands by his work. He went the extra mile and put in a sump pump alarm so the basement will not flood if the pump stops working.
