DO NOT HIRE I hired Tim from a strong referral. They painted the entire interior and missed some areas and did zero cleanup when they were complete When they finally came back after a month Tim refused to do a lot of touch up and lied about certain areas we agreed he would paint a certain color that he never did. He refused to do it and when I expressed concerns and requests to do certain things and got upset he literally ran out of the house and kept threatening to leave as he could not handle the slightest bit of confrontation. He in no way was there to make the customer happy but to find a way to get more money out of me of which I refused. He told me he would do some drywall repair to help me save time and it would be a couple hours and then charged me for 35 hours of which I stupidly paid. Tim is not in integrity and left me with areas incomplete, and zero touch ups unless. I paid him An additional $1500 charge to touch up. He did the bare minimum begrudgingly on his revisit to complete and still left things not done. His behavior was incredibly unprofessional and I am left with days of work to feel my house is complete. I called and emailed several times after they left to express My concerns and areas Missed with zero response. No return calls or emails. The worst contractor I have hired in building a new house. Beware of this company

Response from Blue Parrot Painting
We have, literally, thousands of satisfied clients. Your review is not an accurate representation of the work performed at your property. We are sorry you had difficulties with your general contractor, many of your subcontractors, and that you ran out of money. However, we provided service over and above our contract requirements. Your review appears to be an orchestrated smear campaign by you, which fails to mention your actions and the work of other individuals associated with this job. We ask you to cease and desist your libelous, defamatory, and inaccurate portrayal of our work. Thank You.

Wonderful! I am simply amazed at how great the outside looks compared to my neighbor homes who were repainted by other companies but still show lines and contrast due poor painting techniques apparently. Tim and his crew are very personable and professional, taking time to prepare the areas so as to not damage wood floors. Tim, himself, is unlike any other painter I've met. He personally undertakes the most difficult jobs like drywall repair. One cannot even tell there was a hole in the wall before from the electrician's drywall punch outs. What's also great is that he easily matches paint to what was previously used. The interior was well done as well and is now cheery and bright. Tim also provides advice on what colors are popular, what sheens are best to use, etc. He certainly takes great pride in his work and that is rare these days. I've used multiple other contractors in the past 2-3 years renovating our home and he and his crew are top notch compared to other providers. I highly recommend without hesitation.

Very well. The result is very good. I chose this company because they provide quality paint and quality work. They do not water down the paint. This is important to me because my house has a lot of exposure to the sun. They kept to their schedule, weather permitting, and finished the job in about a week. If there are problems, they can be reached very easily. This is a small business. The owner gave me the estimate, discussed the job with me, and was present for the job. He has his own crew of painters and they do not subcontract the job. The bid was higher than other companies I contacted, but they do a better job, provide better quality paint, and did a very professional job on all the quirky angles and surfaces on my house. The higher price was justified.
Description of Work: Paint exterior siding on house, including wood trim around windows, gutters, etc. Part of my house has brick veneer, which needed to be protected during painting.

Old saying: if it looks too good to be true it probably is. That applies here. It?s a deal alright, but not the one you think you are buying. My personal comment is that you should be extremely careful about engaging Blue Parrot. Be very careful indeed about buying any special deal from them. I bought an Amazon Local deal for Blue Parrot Painting to paint one 12' x 12' room for $85. I knew this was a very good price and expected that the terms and conditions of the deal would be tight, so I was not surprised to see that there were size and height limitations. When I phoned to arrange the date I asked some questions to make sure I understood what would be included in the deal price. My instincts told me that this would be a situation where any variation might be an excuse to charge extra above the prepaid deal price. But there was some discussion that once the painting team was in the house they would quote for any other jobs and there would be a "special price" or a better price for those jobs as the team was already in the house. This is all pretty standard stuff and did not surprise me. Obviously, the $80 deal price can be understood as a loss leader or opportunity cost for the team to get into the house and have the chance of getting more business. I don't have any problem with that. The team (Tim Zaer, his daughter, and one other man) were friendly, appeared professional and arrived exactly on time. First impressions were good. We went upstairs and the team started to set up. There was a bed in the room and a dresser. We took the dresser out and moved the bed to the middle of the room. I had made sure to have sliders available to make this an easy process and it was all done in less than 10 minutes, probably closer to five minutes. Tim then handed me a piece of paper to sign. He had written that there would be extra charges of $140 ($145?) because of the bed being in the room and because there was a "nook" as he called it. The "nook" is the doorway into the bedroom: it has a door to an adjoining bathroom and a diagonal wall leading into the bedroom. The diagonal wall is WITHIN the 12' x 12' measurement for the room - I know because I have just re-measured the room to check. So now within 10 minutes my special $85 deal to paint the bedroom was turning into a $245 price. The deal voucher proclaimed $85 ($300 value) - right, I could see how $85 was getting towards $300 - the only problem is that it was a $245 value for Blue Parrot, not for me. I expressed surprise: if the deal for painting a 12' x 12' room was $85 how could it be right to charge $145 for painting an extra 2-3' of wall? Tim's just repeated that the "nook" was extra and the deal terms required the room to be empty and the bed being in the room meant it could take much longer to paint. At this point I felt very uncomfortable about the honesty of the approach and was concerned what else he would find to justify further charges. I had the clearest feeling that this company doesn't really expect to honor the deal price. I made the decision that as I did not feel able to trust them it would be better to cut my losses and tell them to go. I also was not willing to accept what I felt was a dishonest attempt to extract an extra $145 for painting a 3' wall. If Tim had proposed a modest extra cost I would have agreed it. I would not have been happy about it, but as the team was there, set up and would probably have done an acceptable painting job I would have given in, for the sake of getting the room painted. But an extra that is nearly twice the original deal price is not a modest extra. I want to make two things clear: (a) the "nook" consisted of a 3' section of wall and a diagonal wall that is actually within the 12' x 12' measurement, and (b) although Tim insisted that the terms and conditions of the deal voucher stipulated that the room must be empty, in fact they don't say that. I have re-read the terms to check this. The terms do not even mention that the room must be empty - they talk about additional fees for larger rooms, for damaged walls, for using primer and other reasons. They do not even mention objects in the room. Maybe their terms and conditions for some other deals stipulate this, but not the Amazon Local voucher that I bought. So Tim's insistence on this was just wrong. Why does this matter? Because it says a lot about Tim's approach - he insists his proposed extra cost is justified because of a term that does not actually exist in his own carefully worded voucher, and he sees a 3' length of wall as a reason to jack up the price to three times the deal price. I believe that Blue Parrot is a small family business. I don?t like writing a negative review and wish I didn?t have to. I have several small businesses myself and I know hard it can be, so I truly don?t wish to harm them by being unfair. But what happened today was wrong and they deserve to be called on it. And other people deserve to know what they are getting into if they buy a deal from Blue Parrot. I?m sorry to say it, but you should know: it?s a deal alright, but not the one you think you are buying.
Description of Work: BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL ABOUT ENGAGING BLUE PARROT.It’s a deal alright, but not the one you think you are buying. For the reasons explained, we asked them to leave and did not proceed with the job.

Be VERY careful with this company as they aren't professional.
Description of Work: I purchased an $89 Amazon Local deal and was told that because we have used their services before and because the room was slightly out of their 12 x 12 range, they wanted to charge me $150 more. (The voucher never said anything about repeat customers or I never would have purchased the voucher.) When I called to discuss the matter, Sheree called me a and hung up on me.

I've tried discount painters in and around Boulder, CO, such as and quot;Impeccable Finishesand quot; and and quot;Boulder Discount Paintersand quot;. Terrible. You get what you pay for. Blue Parrot painters delivered high quality, speed, punctuality, and the quality of the work is outstanding. Will definitely use in the future. Worth every penny of the price tag.

I purchased an Angie's Deal and had a bedroom painted by Blue Parrot. There were 2 men that came out and painted the room and they were very prompt and professional. I was very happy with the way the room turned out. The only complaint I have is that the deal I purchased specified I needed to purchase 2 gallons of paint, and because of the small size of the room, I had 1 gallon left over.

I purchased one of their deals, thinking at the time that I would be charged more, since this is a very large master bath. We had several conversations via email and phone about the scope of this project. They showed up on time, and TIm took a look around and honored the exact price that I had paid. I was thrilled not to be spending any more money. They did great work, great cleanup - and I am very happy. I have more painting projects in the spring (a big deck that needs staining), and I will definitely be calling on them. Thanks Tim and company!

Description of Work: I purchased the big deal, one room of painting for $150. Two painters arrived promptly and we're fairly friendly. They said they could nit paint the whole rom because it was bigger than the specified deal. I asked them to paint what they could. They painted two rooms of an approximately 9x12 room. It took the roughly four hours. Job was impeccable. I might hire the again, though the price was high. $45 per painter, two painters, I provide paint, that's maybe too high for something I can do myself. But it was done better and neater than I could have.

It went great. They were punctual and professional.I was very pleased with the job. They had to move a very heavy oak roll top desk but I had already placed sliders under it because the tile people had to move it as well. The sliders worked great and they had no problems moving it.
Description of Work: The provider painted my den. I was anxious to get the job done because I had just had the floor tiled. Tim went out of his way to expedite the job which I greatly appreciated. I'm sure they have many other jobs lined up due to our horrific floods here in Colorado. This was the third time I hired this company and i was very satisfied.

Overall, our house looks wonderful in its new colors, and we are very pleased with the outcome. The workmanship and professionalism by the Blue Parrot Painting team was top notch, and the results have improved our home's appearance tremendously as well as updated the protective qualities of the home's exterior. Using high quality paint, they told us this job should last 10-15 years, which is longer than we expected. During a week of very high late summer temperatures, the painting team carried on without complaint and remained friendly during the entire process. We miscommunicated about the details of one color on the house, so extra time was needed and cost incurred to do what we wanted. I don't blame the painter, but I now realize how important it is to be very specific about where you want each color to appear. Write it out clearly and have both parties sign the description, and use a photo of the house to specify exactly where each color goes. Also, ask for a quote of any additional charges needed above the original quote. Best tip on choosing exterior house colors - narrow down your choices to a couple, then purchase the sample size in those colors and paint them on an inconspicuous part of the house. Do this with deck stain as well. Take a good amount of time to choose colors carefully as it is a huge decision, and mistakes are expensive.
Description of Work: Provided materials and labor to paint the exterior of our 1534 square foot home. He used 3 colors on the house and also stained the decks and painted inside the window wells.

I had purchased the $99 Living Social deal to have one room painted. I knew my room would be more expensive than that because I had drywall shelves in a couple of insets in the room and they are a lot of work. Tim came out ahead of time to give me the price for the room I wanted done as well as the adjoining kitchen. In the end, I felt the price was reasonable and I went ahead with the plan. Tim and his assistant were very punctual and hard-working. The paint job is lovely and I'm more than satisfied with the quality of their work. I wish I could have afforded to have the whole house done. Tim was not thrilled with the brand of paint I chose, but since I had to buy the paint, I had gotten a paint that reviewed very well on line and was quite reasonable. In the end, it was a beautiful paint job and I think it would have required 2 coats of paint no matter what brand of paint I had chosen. They did an excellent job and cleaned up completely when they were done. I was completely satisfied with the job.
Description of Work: Painting living room and adjoining kitchen. The same color in the kitchen but in eggshell instead of flat paint, and a light color covering 2 dark walls and a dark color covering a light wall in the living room.

Tim came out the same day I called to give the estimate. He was always on time and professional. The work is beautiful. I wish I could have him do every room in the house. They covered all furniture and floors. Cleaned up after themselves and even put the furniture back. I wasn't sure of the wall color I wanted. Tim offered to get a few samples for us to try out. He wound up driving all around the area to get me the paint samples I wanted to try. Certainly above and beyond what I expected.

Tim showed up on time, with his daughter to help, did a great job of prepping the room, and an absolutely PERFECT job of painting the room. The lines between paint colors from the adjoining rooms are straight as can be. They were very friendly, and did a great job of cleaning up. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to friends.
