Their prices keep increasing without any changes to service. It was $69 and it is now $73.50 for 3 months. I am trying to cancel service because I moved. You cannot do it through their site and have to call customer service. Had to hunt around to find what that number is. The number I found is 800 592 9995. I was on hold for over an hour before I had to drop because of work. Then called back again and still on hold and I'm now close to 2 hours waiting.

Terrible recycle trash service. The recycle truck comes by and won't get out of their truck to throw one folded box into there recycle truck. It is so disappointing to see how lazy the recycle trash truck drivers are. Paying $70/month for recycle trash service and the recycle truck drivers fail to complete their recycle pickups.

The good: trash and recycling always picked up on time. Recycling always happened pretty late in the day. They always emptied everything that was legitimate, even if we had an extra can for yard waste instead of the bags and if we put an extra bag or 2 out for pickup. The bad: We had alley pickup for trash (good) and every week, the can would be put back with the lid open and in a very poor manner. sometimes the neighbors would get mad because the can would block the alley while we were at work on trash day and would move the can to inside our fence line which I did not like. The price went from $75/quarter to $100/quarter. I called and asked about this and they said fuel charges - fuel is way cheaper than when I moved to the house. I spoke to someone I know who used to work at WM and they said I would have to leave the company to get a discount. WM confirmed that I would need a quote they could match before any changes would be made - I didn't have time to mess with it. I moved away so I just cancelled anyway, but I won't recommend for my renters because of the price.

WM has been my service provider for 2 years. My biggest complaint is that service has not changed but the price changed from $60 to $99 in those 2 years. The cost of my trash pickup went up $10 in my last billing period - not the surcharges - the cost of the service. I asked a question the last time I noticed a large price hike and when I asked why I wasn't notified I was told that I am notified on the bill. Initially took 6 months to get coordinated so that my trash/recycling would be picked up each week. Trash is picked up in the alley but recycling has to go to the street. I was putting trash in the street so no pickup. Finally worked that out but I recall that I was told someone was looking into the issue and was going to call back but I had to call myself because nobody contacted me in the time frame promised. In the alley, the trash receptacle is regularly put back so that it is blocking the alley. We've had neighbors roll the trash receptacle inside of the fence in our yard because they were so mad. The recycling is not picked up until almost 6pm some days which I normally would not know because I usually arrive home later. One day, I saw the truck leave the neighborhood at 5:30pm having left my recycling on the curb. I was leaving town so I put everything back by the garage and at 6pm they came back through and I missed the pickup. I suppose that's not WMs fault, but I think others would have thought nobody was coming back that late.

The garbage collection has never been a problem, but starting this summer the recycling pickup has been a big fail. The recycling driver began to miss or skip my pickup starting about 8 weeks ago. I have had to call multiple times about it and have sent emails as well. My most recent scheduled recycling pickup was July 17th. Today (July 28th) the recycling bin sits (still full) on the street where it has been since the 17th, despite 2 phone calls to WM to have it picked up. I am now moving my collection to another trash service.
Description of Work: My services were for weekly garbage collection plus biweekly recycling pickup. The price I provided was the monthly charge (it's higher than all other local companies).

First - if you call them for "customer service", expect to go through a maize of electronic phone transfers, only to end up talking to someone in the midwest who knows nothing about your service. 2nd - expect no service, and/or paying for services not provided. After failing to pickup my recycling on several occasions, and following an bill increase (for the privilege of inconsistent service) - I cancelled my acount/service in mid-January and went with a local provider. They told me that they would collect my garbage as schedule the following week, and would collect my recycling bin. The next week - they did neither, even though I was paid up through March. I set out the recycling bin the next week - again, they did not pick it up. They said that I will forfeit the balance of my payment - that it is Waste Management policy if you cancel your service. On March 4th, I received an $80 collection notice for "failure to return their property" - i.e., $80 for my beat up recycling bin that they failed to pickup. I finally reached a live body in Omaha, who said that when I cancelled my service - I should have called another division to schedule pickup of the recycling bin. He also let me know that Waste Management would begin collection action against me unless I paid the $80 for the plastic bin. Alternatively he would do me the favor of arranging a pickup - and that I will need to set out the bin every day next week, until it's picked up. But - if it's blown away, I'm back to having to pay the $80.

When Evergreen Disposal was sold to Waste Management, our account was transferred to WM. First thing WM did was to take my payment over the phone and fail to credit my account. They sent several threatening letters, and it took multiple calls to get this resolved. Then they dropped the "purple bag" program whereby seniors and other small households could prepay for bags and have their small trash loads removed bag by bag. When I ran out of prepaid bags, I called to set up scheduled trash removal. WM told me that trash day was the following day and I should put my trash out for removal. When they picked up my neighbor's trash but not mine, I called to say they had missed mine. They said to leave it out until 6pm, that their driver would come back for it. He didn't, so I dragged it back inside. The next business day I called and cancelled service, and WM assured me I didn't owe anything. A few days later I got a bill for $61.26, for activation fees (even tough I had been a current customer), cancellation fees (even though there was no service to cancel), trash pickup fees retroactive two months (even though the only trash they ever picked up was in prepaid bags) and environmental/fuel fees (even though there were no fuel or environmental costs involved in not picking up my trash)! WM had taken over our community recycling center behind King Soopers store. The employees were let go and the center was so neglected that it became a health hazard. I complained to a WM employee who happened to stop by, and he told me that if I didn't like it, I shouldn't use it. I told the grocery store manager that I would call the health department if conditions did not improve. After that, another company took over the recycling center and it is much improved. Waste Management has earned itself a terrible reputation in our community, and, luckily, is losing business regularly to a newer family owned and operated company.

I've been a customer 22 years. Over the years they've messed up my account several times, failed to collect the garbage several times, left the cans in the street frequently, increased their rates significantly, and otherwise been annoying. But the last 4 months have become unbearable. First they changed my account number, for no reason they could explain and without telling me. This contributed to messing up my autopay, which they also didn't tell me. Then they temporarily stopped my pick-up until we got the payment issues resolved - fair enough. All got settled and I was assured pickup would begin again 2 weeks ago. It didn't. They assured me my account was paid and it just sometimes takes a week to get it through the system. Today a subcontractor showed up and hauled away the can! Customer Service told me I hadn't paid until 3 days ago (despite the paperwork saying otherwise). After many minutes she figured out that I was not only properly paid up but that I actually have a substantial credit on my account. But all she could say about the can was that someone put in a ticket a few weeks ago and it just takes a long time to get those cancelled - and that the can will be returned sometime between tomorrow and the middle of next week (after the next scheduled pickup). I'm done. I've had it. 22 years of watching the prices go up, the service go down, and the administrative efficiency deteriorate have pushed me over the edge. I'm actively seeking another company.

Our trash was not picked up because "it was blocked." Apparently someone parked in front of my house on a public street and the trash collectors said they could not get to the trashcans. However, the mailman had no trouble getting to the mailbox which is right next to where the trashcans were left. They will not come back to pick up our trash until our next scheduled day the following week. This is not the first time this has happened. All other times, when the trash is collected, the collectors leave the cans in the street or in the middle of the sidewalk, blocking access. I find this extremely unprofessional and am tired of dealing with a company that does not care about customer service. We have paid through September. I do not care. I am canceling their shoddy service today.
Description of Work: Our cans are out the night before collection day every time. We place them on the sidewalk in front of our house. Without fail, when I arrive home from work, if the trash was picked up, the cans are in the street blocking parking access.
The weekly trash pick-up service was excellent. Pick-up was always on time. During holiday weeks, the company would send an email letting the customer known of any schedule variations. The service from the office was poor. When I first signed up, I inquired about different rates. I was quoted both a quarterly rate, and an annual rate. I took the annual rate, and paid for 1 year of service. I received no bills for about 7 months, after about 7 months I received a bill indicating I needed to make an additional payment. I sent an email back to the original Denver representative (including the initial email thread that contained the 1 year offer), and a different representative responded (I assume the 1st representative had moved on). The 2nd representative looked into the matter, and found my account had not be switched to annual billing. The representative said they needed to contact the billing department in Phoenix for a correction. In about 1 1/2 weeks, I received an bill for annual payments, but the payment schedule was back dated to a few weeks ago. I requested a breakdown in billing (to understand why my annual payment only lasted 7 months), but never received one. I sent another email asking for resolution, but never received any response. What I learned about Waste Management was the following; 1) When asking about billing rates, make sure to ask for the total cost. (The rates quoted to me did not include the "fuel /environmental charge", or any "Administrative fees". I may not have selected Waste Management if I had know about these extra fees. I suspect the payment I had initially sent in was consumed by these fees. 2) Even though I had the original email thread where the annual offer was made, Waste Management never stood by their offer.
Description of Work: Provided weekly residential trash pick-up at a price of $435.00/year.
Have used them for over 20 years. Everything usually goes quite well. They send out reminder calls of holiday delays if there is going to be one. My only concern is the cost. It seems to be escalating a lot and also includes a fuel surcharge as well as an administrative fee. Right now, all costs together, it is running about $30 a month.

I was on the phone with customer service for at least 30 minutes and they dropped my call when I asked to speak to a supervisor.

We were a customer of another company for 15 years when Waste Management bought out the other company. The other company was always prompt and efficient. I have been waiting for 3 days for Waste Management to pick up an overflowing dumpster. I also asked for a roll-off dumpster 3 days ago and have not been able to get that either. When they eventually get around to servicing the dumpster I will tell them to keep it!

The worst experience I have ever had with trash service. They missed my trash on several occasions, but nearly always missed my recycle container. I though that I may have had the wrong week, but after failure to pick up, three weeks in a row, I knew it was not me. I received my bill and they charged 65.00 on my first bill, plus the charges for substandard service. Oh, and a fuel surcharge and administrative fees, of course. They charged me 30.00 to deliver trash containers. They charged me 35.00 just set up my account! They charged me 24.00 for a fuel surcharge. They charged me 4.00 for adminstrative fees? When I called to complain, I was told that all the charges are what allow them to provide a quality product. I did not ask for a definition of quality, so maybe that is the problem. I asked why 35.00 just to set up my account to pay them more money. I did not really receive an explanation other than how long and arduous it is to set up my account and how thorough they are. Perhaps they should be more thorough about their trash collection rather than whatever it is that requires 35.00 to open an account. I asked about the fuel/environment charge, but the explanations were all the same. All the costs are what makes their company the best. I hate the fact that these companies tell you a price, then add delivery, account fees, fuel surcharge, administrative fees. Those fees should be the cost of doing business, not quoting a low fee, then adding all sorts of other fees to boost profit. I accumulated 230.00 in fees in four months, which equates to nearly 60.00 per month. Even at the 84.00 price which includes the administrative fee and the fuel surcharge, it is still nearly double for my four months of terrible service. I would never recommend Waste Management. They are deceptive in their pricing and gouge their customers with hidden fees. If they actually performed premium quality service, it may be a little easier to swallow, but combine the gouging with substandard performance, and you are sick. Not to mention that my trash cans were constantly overflowing from not being picked up. Terrible, Terrible, Experience!

Unfortunately, I've had service with this company twice - both experiences were highly frustrating. They were my service company about 4 years ago, and they missed my trash pickup almost weekly. I was constantly calling their customer service to see if something was wrong with my account, why weren't they picking up my trask, and could they PLEASE pick up my trash. Often I was told they would make sure it would be picked up the next day. I hated having trash sitting in front of my house for two days! I ultimately ended up cancelling their service and switching to EDS, whom I was very satisfied with. They provided flawless trash pickup, and their customer service was very professional. Unfortunately, EDS just sold to Waste Managerment so I'm now once again a Waste Managerment customer. NO TRASH PICK UP the first week. I called to see if anything was wrong with my account. No it was fine. NO TRASH PICK UP the 2nd week. I called again. The third week, I called twice to make sure they would pick it up. It finally got picked up around 6:30 pm NO TRASH PICK UP the fourth week. I've cancelled their service and will never recommend them to anyone. This company has wasted so much of my time and caused an enormous amount of frustration. I'm now using Pro Disposal and they're great. They even pull the empty trash cans back up to the house after they dump them. Don't use Waste Management. This company provides horrible service with no resolution.

The service began with a hefty fee and which began to climb as time went by. First it was a small increase for fuel charge. Then I was charged an adminstrative fee because I mailed my payment into them. Then the fuel charge got higher and higher. Then I said that's enough. I now pay some 30.00 dollars less for the same service through an alternate company and I am very happy with them. They come early everyday and I don't have to look out to see if myh trash man has arrived after dark as I did before I made the switch.
Description of Work: 1. Retrieve Prepaired and bundled to their specifications waste materials from curb every week. 2. Retrieve recycle materials every other week from curb. 3. Collect a quarterly fee for these services. 4. And sometimes they wouldn 't show up until the next day. I am not talking about the delay for a holiday.

We have been with Waste Management for 15 years; since we moved into our home. We are going to give them notice because their prices have gone up, for us, a retired couple. I have found a private, local company who will do it for a lot less. We were using them every week but switched to every other week because, with the two of us, we don't generate that much trash. They didn't lower their costs significantly, so I thought, "Why spend that much?"

It is paid through our homeowners association. They pick up our trash and recyclables. They are fine. It's not a fact of choosing them they are chosen for us, but I am sure if there was a problem with them our homeowners wouldn't use them.

I pay them monthly. They come every Thursday. They are pretty reliable. If they can’t come because of the either, they leave me an automated phone message and they come the next day. There is not a whole lot to say other than the fact that they leave the dumpster empty every time. Sometimes, they send new drivers that can’t find the place or that cant park the truck properly or have trouble backing out. The real problem is that the trucks are huge. Every once in a while they hit a mailbox but that is rare. I couldn't do any better, it is not really a criticism, but those are the reasons why they are not perfect. The price is competitive, considering the choice that there are only two dumpster service out here. I don’t have enough experience what the reasonable price should be. The people that they regularly send are good but when they send someone new, it is a problem.
