Thunderbird Design

Everything was fine. They responded quickly. The man who came out was on time and professional.

Adam created a wonderful landscape design. My yard definitely has curb appeal with lots of plants of various colors. He listened to my ideas and needs and gave me a beautiful yard. The workers were all courteous and answered all my questions. They were promote and cleaned up any mess that they made. The plants all came in good shape as did the sod. I would definitely recommend Thunderbird Design to anyone who wants a beautiful landscape.

We purchased a big deal for the services. The service was good, probably not as good as I expected, I am glad that I didn't spend the full price on it. They were very nice, wonderful people, and maybe I was just over expecting, there wasn't a lot of detail in the plan. It was a drawing of our front and back yard, and he just took the ideas that we gave him, and stuck them in there. I guess I was expecting a professional to come back with more. I was expecting a little more input from him, he has a big area drawn around our front, and it says clean up existing bed and put flowering plan. I would like to know what the plan would be. We told him that we didn't have money at the moment, and we wanted a plan to work with over the years. He was super nice, and I am sure it took a lot of time on his part. They were A worthy, but I was just expecting a little more. They were originally charging 400 Dollars for it, and so the 100 Dollars was worth it. I would have been very upset, if I had to pay 400 Dollars for it.

They did a fabulous job. It doesn't sound like much, but it was a big task. They had to rip out existing plants and sinder blocks to create a beautiful complete look. Dustin did a great job on the design and helped keep the cost down. And their crew, they were polite, helpful, friendly, and worked hard. They worked really well with any changes that I would make last minute. Jose, Daniel and Darwin did such a wonderful job. They were a great crew. Devon, the project manager, did a great job. I had ideas and he would make them happen. I would definitely use them again. They were reasonable and were able to work around my schedule.

Still not finalized because of difficulties with neighbor (whose property is involved) Also need some recalibration of design and cost because of this. No problems with Thunderbird.Very responsive and professional.

Set an appointment with John to look at our front yard to have some work done. Met with John and he looked at whet needed to be done. He did not take any measurements, photos or anything. All he really talked about was how happy that I was able to move my appointment time for him since he was going to see his wife come in town that weekend. John then said thanks for moving your appointment, I will get the quote back to you in a couple days. John then even called and left a message a coup,e days later saying that he hasn't forgotten about us just running a little behind. Well here it has been weeks and no call or quote from John. What a waste of time.

It took approximately 3 weeks for them to get out to look at our space to give us a plan and potential quote for the work. After they finally showed up, we waited another 2 weeks with no response. It was at that time I called to find out where the plan was but found out the person that came to our house was no longer with the company. The owner then promised to send a person the next day out to look at the space and get a plan down. I agreed but after they came out the second time, he came back with a quote, no plan. It was at that time I asked for (and received) a refund. Although I paid by credit card, they had to issue me a check and I waited until it arrived and cashed it quickly. Do not recommend.

Wasted 2 hours of my life on July 8 and never heard from them again. Should have been suspicious when on a Monday, John - the person who came out to give an estimate - could not commit to when he would be able to provide the written estimate. He could not even give a ballpark figure of costs. He gave a range of by the end of the week thru Wednesday of the following week for the estimate. Called the office last week and spoke to Amber. Her response was call John directly. Really? Who am I contracting with? Asked her to pass a message on to John and have not heard from either the company or John. These folks are a joke. Feel I dodged a bullet here.

Dustin at Thunderbird Design gave the initial bid and provided the ideas and plans for our fire pit. He was very patient, and always upbeat no matter how many questions or changes we had. I liked how Dustin continued to be part of the project-he didn't just turn it over to someone else. He made changes in his schedule so he could meet with us when we had concerns. His crew was very professional as well, and I have never seen harder workers who took such pride in their work. They were always punctual, neat, and took care to make as little mess as possible. Jim, one of the project managers, was also very professional and patient with us. Both guys had great ideas and never tired of our constant questions or requests. The patio turned out beautiful. The fire pit is almost done. We are waiting for some final install from our plumber, but I know it will be perfect. My husband, who is very detailed and has no patience for sloppy or imperfect work, said, "I wish all contractors were like them". I have to agree. They were a pleasure to work with and finished the work promptly even though we kept making changes. I would highly recommend them for any landscaping needs.

I could not be happier with the work done. It took us some time to get our calendars coordinated, but once we did all work was done over the course of two days. Dustin was a pleasure to work with - responsive and very professional. I appreciated him coming out for an additional consult as I had a change in vision with part of the plan. Dustin was able to use some metal panels I had bought and turned them into something really cool. The panels turned out better than I imagined they would - give just enough cover from the street and side and are visually interesting. I highly recommend Dustin and his team.

Generally this project went very well. The original response was very quick and the visit was arranged fairly quickly. It did take some time to get the estimate, but I know it was a very busy time for landscape projects. Once we settled on the work to be done, it was quick and well executed. I am crossing my fingers that the plants all survive this very hot summer - I am watering them religiously per Deb's instructions.

It went great. I had used somebody else, they're really expensive. I like everything about them. He bid me a $20,000 job on like a $7,000 budget, I took his plan and then I hired some cheap labor to do it for me. He overbudget it all but he gave me like a beautiful plan, he put a lot of thought into it.

Adam and his team are outstanding!! We first just wanted a landscape design for a very large grassy area on our 1-acre property. We loved the design he came up with and he worked with us to get it into our price range. The guys arrived on time every day, worked full days and finished the job as planned. Adam took the time twice every single day to come over to check on the progress and to touch base with me to let me know the status and answer any questions. They took out the sod, laid landscape fabric, added rock and cascade mulch, planted 7 trees, added a multitude of berms with perennial flowers, bushes and tall grasses. They also laid down a rock path through the entire area, which when finished didn't stand out color-wise as much as Adam liked, so he returned to add a wet-look sealant that made the path "pop". We changed part of the order (added more mulch and flowers), which he accommodated with no change to the schedule. On the final walk-through he went over every detail with us on maintenance, watering schedule for the drip lines (which they also added to our existing evergreens, shrubs and bushes in that area), and the perennials that they planted. We are already planning Phase 2 with Adam. He will be my go-to guy from now on for any landscaping I need. GREAT JOB! Love these guys!

I recently moved into a new home that required a lot of work in the backyard. I contacted three companies for estimates and ideas. I do not believe my project was the most exciting from a design or budget point of view, but Thunderbird still made me feel I would be their number one priority. Construction started on the day as planned, The workers arrived early and work efficiently. From how fast they work, I assumed some quality may be lost but this was not the case. They exceeded my expectations for the two new landscaping beds. A lot of plants had to be dug up and moved and all of them have survived. On the day of construction I also threw a lot of miscellaneous yard projects at them that we had not previously discussed. They gladly performed each. Aside from the smaller additions, I also decided to expand the flagstone patio. With trying to incorporate big impromptu changes on the day of construction, unfortunately the patio did not turn out how I had hoped. When Dustin, the projects designer, stopped by to view the finished project, he stated the patio did not meet his standards before I could say anything. For the new phase of construction, both Dustin and the president, Adam, closely monitored to make sure I received my desired appearance. I am very please with the final product. I believe I made this project more difficult than it should have been, but Dustin and Adam took all my requests and suggestions in stride. For a smaller sized project, they made me feel like their most important client. I cannot recommend this company enough. Best of the best on Angie's List.

My husband and I were both very impressed with Adam. He definitely has a deep knowledge of landscaping and plants that work well in Colorado. He actually gave us a second design because we ended up changing the location of a retaining wall in our yard and his second design was even more beautiful than the first. He is definitely in the business of designing top end landscapes! He was a pleasure to work with. He definitely listened to our desires and incorporated them all into his design. He was excellent about returning phone calls and emails. We would definitely recommend him to any and all who ask!

The man who headed the crew was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He and the two workers were very industrious and got through a lot of work.

They did a great job. They were amazing.

They were fine, a little slow with the responsive but happy with what they were able to accomplish in the 6 hours. Part of the lack of communication was not having a specific time when they would be out there.

We selected Thunderbird Design based on the strength of their design work - Karson (our designer) was the only person that we got a design from that met our requirements with the artistic flair of a true designer. He also took personal ownership of our experience, which was great, until he wasn't with the company any more (not sure what happened). I get the impression that the folks at Thunderbird really try to do a good job, but just have some growing to do... our project was delayed a couple of times (by weeks), and the stone work is of average quality at best. To be clear, it's a significant improvement over what was there, and looks good, but not as good as could be expected for the cost - there are places where the stones aren't well cemented to each other, and other places where small scraps of stone seem to be haphazardly stuck into gaps, particularly right in the front of the retaining wall. On the plus side, the folks that we worked with were friendly, courteous, and professional. Some of our neighbors were a little bit difficult to work with, and were handled very equitably (the folks at thunderbird purchased them a voucher for a carwash, for example). If we had to do it over again, we'd probably have Thunderbird do the design work, and have someone else do the installation for us.

Terrific, Deb worked us into their schedule promptly, even theough they were behnd in spring clean up with other clients due to the large amount of spring snowfall in Colorado. Within two weeks, their crew came over and weeded- (a BIG job) , trimmed, etc. Today theyu just put in the perrinneals, and my pots with hibiscus flowers, etc. Excellent service , prompt and they work hard! But with a smile.

Deb was very professional and, despite all the times that had to be rescheduled due to weather, seemed genuinely interested in getting the work done in a timely manner. After the work was "done", I called Deb and asked who had come and how long they were there, as the work was done during the day while my husband and I were at our jobs. I told her that there were several parts of the back yard that looked untouched and that the workers didn't do some of the things she indicated that they would be doing. She said she would send someone back out and, to date, we have seen no more work done. Then when John came to do the landscape consultation, he saw that some of the cleanup was not done and said he would mention to Deb that the work was incomplete. He called several days later to ask if we were interested in spendning the $500 for a landscape design. Needless to say, our confidence in Thunderbird's work and follow through led us to decide not use their services again. They seem like very nice people....however, the quality of their work for simple lawn maintenance of a very small yard was inadequate.

Dustin came to the property and we reviewed the landscape changes we wanted to make. A few weeks later, he provided a lovely detailed design that we can use in the next year or so to make the desired improvements, doing some of the work ourselves and hiring out other pieces. Dustin listened to my comments on the design and updated it based on my feedback. I thought he did a great job. I will say though, that the bids he provided for some of the work elements were quite high. It's doubtful we'll be hiring them to do any of the landscape work.

The estimator was prompt and addressed all my questions. After an initial glitch, which appeared to be a miscommunication within the company, everything was completed better than expected. I received a follow up email to ensure my satisfaction. Great job!

He emailed us a proposal in a timely manner. The proposal is very detailed and takes into account our specific wishes. He clearly listened to what we are looking for.
