Stellar Painting & Remodeling

I am unable to reach this contractor in order to get an estimate.

Stellar is *stellar*! It started out (back in May) with my requesting an estimate for the partial bathroom remodel (remove existing tile around tub, replace tub spigot and shower handle, new tile over larger area, install safety bars, curtain rod, and caddies) and painting. During Jack's estimate visit, I discovered that the painting was done by a different division of Stellar and that I would need a different estimate for that. About a week later, when I was searching Angie's List for a handyman, I discovered that Stellar also did that type of work, so I also requested an estimate for garage shelves and drywall. Note that remodeling and garage estimates were for labor only; materials were extra. Painting estimate included the paint. Bertin came to estimate the garage work on a Friday morning. I signed the proposal while he was here, and his crew started that very afternoon. They finished the following day (Saturday) about 1:00. I was amazed and very pleased. Note that I requested that the shelves and drywall be unfinished (i.e., no painting). Remodeling took about two weeks in July. It was a bit on and off, based on workers' availability. But the quality of the work and the cleanliness was superb. In addition, Blake noticed that my tub squeaked horribly when you stepped in it, so asked me if he should remedy that -- which he did. Painting took exactly one day (crew of three), even though I had three colors in each room. They did a beautiful job! I *highly* recommend Stellar! These folks listen to what you want, make thoughtful suggestions, prepare the space prior to work so that your house will remain clean, do high-quality work, and clean up well.

They completed the estimation and painting in a quick and timely manner! We were able to have everything painted and dried before our move in day! The estimator, Jared, manager, Nick, and painting crew, run by Carlos, were all extremely nice and helpful!

The provider was super professional and hard working. Whenever I needed something they were available to talk with my husband and I and explain to us everything that was going to happen in our bathroom. W e couldn't be more pleased with the quality of work that this company provided. This company is passionate about what they do and it truly shows in their work, they always put the customers needs first. They do the job to perfection not just to finish it. We couldn't be more happy with the beautiful bathroom we now have due to the remodeling and painting. Thank you so much Stellar Custom Painting and Remodeling!

Stellar charged me $959.00 to stain my small deck. Less than a year later, the stain they recommended was coming off in large sheets from all parts of the deck and railing. I called, and Devon, their field representative, said they don't warranty decks and would not offer any remedy other than to suggest that they come out to redo the deck at $45.00 per hour per man under the maintenance program. I declined since their initial work was totally unsatisfactory. I would not recommend Stellar Painting to anyone.

Our experience with Stellar did not match up with the glowing reviews other customers have given them. Specifically, we experienced the following: 1.) The painting crew did not arrive when we were told they would (between 8-8:30am). Instead, they arrived (following calls to their office) at 3:00pm that afternoon. This was a big inconvenience for us. 2.) We were told that Greg would come back for the walk through but he never did. One of the crew members asked my husband to sign off on the job even though Greg had said he was coming back. 3.) The crew left trash every day on the job site. 4.) The crew broke our garden hose. They stretched it too far causing a break/hole to occur. 5.) The crew asked us to pay for the job but could not tell us how much we owed (total amount was unknown because re-staining our porch was priced at $35/MHR and we were not told how many hours the job took). 6.) The crew dripped paint on our house which required my husband to do 'touch ups' the following weekend. We shared these concerns with Stellar and did hear back from Greg. He offered to come back to our house but we had already fixed the painting mistakes his crew had made so returning to the job site was useless. I think Stellar handled things professionally (they paid for our busted garden hose, for example) but we were disappointed in the quality of their service. I would not recommend them.

Guy (owner of Stellar) came out and took a look at the job (paint entire interior and some of exterior) and gave me a good price within two days. His crew showed up on time, did a great job, and were very patient with us as we changed some of the paint colors in the middle of the project. His crew was very polite and professional, they worked fast, and the job turned out excellent.

Stellar was one of 3 contractors I picked from Angie's List to get bids to build me a retirement apartment in a house I bought with my son. I met with Jack Wilson in early 2014 to get an estimate for the job. He emailed the estimate within a couple of weeks. I chose Stellar because their estimate was low and I felt I could work with Jack. Over the next few months we refined the plans ( I delayed until I could move from California). In mid -January 2015 they started. First, Stellar removed all workbenches and cabinets from the garage and took down 10 feet of wall between garage and family room. Next they laid new drain lines for new bath and kitchen, framed new walls and knocked down old ones. They ran new plumbing and electrical then drywalled and painted. They also replaced french doors and a window. Finally they installed the cabinets; and after the granite counters were installed by the granite co., and the tile floors and bath done by Stellar tile crew, they installed the appliances and did touch up. Let me says the Stellar remodeling team of Cal and his son Toby were extremely prompt and professional. They arrived every day at 8:00 AM unless they were stopping to pick up materials for the day. They worked all day and cleaned up at the end of each day. I have already asked Stellar to give me an estimate for a sun room addition. I highly recommend this company for any work large or small you may need doing. See before and after pics below.

On August 8, 2014, I hired Stellar to paint the fascia, soffits, shutters and three new doors at my house. Guy did let me know that my job was small and therefore not a priority at the time. I finally made it onto their schedule for October 9. I had to call them, to find that out and I am not sure they would have ever called me. Then again without any communication from the office, the workers showed up a day early while I was at work. Instead of the work specified in the contract, they primered/painted the entire vinyl siding exterior of my house and an adjacent outbuilding. This is going to be a $14,000 repair. It took 7 1/2 months to deal with the tangled insurance mess created by Stellar's lack of communication and supervision and as I have subsequently learned, by them hiring a subcontractor who then hired a subcontractor who was not insured. I do understand that accidents happen, and in spite of the insurance mess their business practices have created, I offered them the opportunity to come back and finish the job they had been hired to in the first place. The workmen who showed up to finish the job still clearly didn't understand the scope of the work to be performed. Fortunately I was home this time to clarify for them. The job they did was not Stellar and they had to come back to redo or repair their work. It is still not a fabulous or complete job but I am sure if I had insisted, Stellar would have sent them back out to try again, but I chose to pay a slightly discounted amount and sign off on the job just to be done with the headache In the intervening months,the paint has peeled from the vinyl trim I told them not to paint in the first place, and a curious 2 year old I was babysitting managed to peel a large chunk of the paint right off of the front door. Based on my experience, I could not ever recommend that anyone hire Stellar.

First visit from Jack was ok, my husband wasn't too excited with him because he got a little rude with my husband. We decided to go ahead and use the company to remodel our bathrooms. We were supposed to meet with Jack and second time to finalize and my husband had an emergency at work. I called Jack an hour and a half before our meeting time and he was so rude and told me I'd have to wait 2 weeks before he could, maybe, meet with us again. Due to his unprofessionalism I decided to not use this company and they, therefore, lost our business.

When Mr. Wilson came to our home for the initial estimate, we immediately felt at ease and I had decided after 5 minutes I would not need to seek another bid. All went well, a few glitches with the ordering of the cabinets which was a misunderstanding on our and the Cabinet Companies part. We were kept informed regularly as to when the work would begin. In the process of choosing our Granite, I had to call Mr.Wilson several times with questions that were always answered. Mr. Wilson sent Mike and Travis out to begin the work and I just fell in love with them! They were awesome and treated my home with respect and did a fantastic job on everything. I had a few concerns regarding the tile work and Mr. Wilson made sure everything possible was done to make me satisfied. Mr. Wilson made several stops by my home to check the progress. We highly recommend Stellar Painting and Remodeling. I know I will be using them in future remodeling for my home. Happy Customers Karl and Cathy Morrison

It all went wonderfully. Took about 3 months for all of it. Jack was a pleasure to work with, very organized and had a lot of good ideas to help with the initial design. Painting was superfast, took about a week to remove popcorn, texture, and paint whole house inside and out. The painting is of really good quality. The designer that they worked with (Connie) was amazing with not only colors but tile layouts for the remodel phase of the project. The tile work is really good. The person doing the tile had never worked with epoxy-grout before, so there is a little hazing on a couple of the first small tiles he did, but otherwise it's all pretty impeccable. Otherwise no complaints on any of of the other work, especially the tile work in general (he was a master at that). Good drywall work and repair as well. I also liked the week-to-week billing as every week I was presented with a very detailed itemization bill. It also means I could cancel the work at anytime, though I didn't have to. The only complaint was that there was the main builder and his assitant, yet they billed me the same for both of them (each paid the same hourly on the weekly bill). I did have an issue a few years after the work was done though. A pipe in the new shower started leaking. I called Jack and he sent out a crew to repair it and any associated drywall at no cost. Now that's standing behind your work and why I will use them again should I need those services, and also why I personally recommend them to my friends and family (and now Angie's list).

The crew was here on time and set to work doing the repairs that I needed. They then sealed off all the furniture and woodwork. They did a great job because I had to stay in the house while they painted and they worked around me. I was very please with the crew and the job they did. Everything came out beautiful.

Stellar was great. We had some tile come loose in the shower. We put a plan together to get the work done in our budget. Jack came out and gave us an estimate and discussed things that we could do to do the job right and still stay within our budget. Dan and Blake were on time and courteous in our home. The project took about 2 weeks. They stayed in our budget and were done on time. The new shower pan and tile work in the bathroom look great. They installed a new counter top to replace an old stained one. I have other home projects coming up that I plan on using Stellar for. Very satisfied with my experience.

We initially met with Jack Wilson, who clearly has been in the business for a while and had some great ideas to assist us with our planning, while respecting our budget. We found him down to earth and considerate. Cal and John were our contractors who did a great job. Cal was the lead on the job, while John was the apprentice. Cal is very detailed oriented and creative. He didn't seem to miss a beat and had great ideas for fixing anything unexpected. While John was apprenticing, he seemed to come with a lot of his own experiences and was very amenable to new ideas that Cal taught him.I have only one remark. We had to have our ceiling re-textured with knockdown, and the man who came to do that, sprayed texture in to the adjacent rooms, and left this for me to clean up. Our follow up with Jack revealed there was intention of the person who did the work to clean it up, but that was not communicated to me...as I understood he was done and not returning. I am happy with the results however.

I cannot BEGIN TO DESCRIBE the outstanding level of service we received on our painting job recently from Stellar Painting and Remodeling. Every single person was absolutely EXCEPTIONAL from the first phone call into their receptionist to Guy Miller coming himself SO MANY TIMES to the jobsite, to Patricia and Adolfo and Jimmy and Sal and the whole crew- everyone was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! Never once did I see a person sit down, take a drink, stop for even a split second in 3 weeks!! The follow-up, attention to detail and pride they take is like nothing you have ever seen! You won't be sorry!! Guy Miller sincerely cares about your home and treated the whole job like it was HIS HOME he was doing!! Thank you Stellar and Guy for an absolutely BEAUTIFUL job!! I have already referred them to so many friends, each of whom are as happy with them as I was!

We were able to schedule and get an estimate within a week. The provided an interior designer to help us make our final color choices and she was invaluable. The job was scheduled for about two weeks after the acceptance of our proposal. The crew of four showed up on time. they were courteous and professional. They cleaned up at the end of each day so our house was livable while the work was getting done. The entire house was completed in three and a half days. The lines are crisp along the edges and the trim was painted leaving no marks on the hardwood floors or carpet. Really nice job. Stellar followed up to make sure we were happy with the work. Great experience from beginning to end.

From beginning to end - this company is incredible! So professional, courteous, considerate and the work was completed with the utmost attention to detail: Expertly trimmed and finished in record speed. Every contact with this company was an absolute pleasure. To all at Stellar - Thank you so much ! (Jared, Nick, Hugo, Brian, Henry, Ashley). My mistake: I picked out and purchased the paint color (oops!) I wanted on the house. Once the house was done, I hated it. Ran out the next morning and picked up another color. They came right back and painted it again. The painting crew was amazing - they did a wonderful job!

It went great. I didn't have any problems with them. They were in and out. I didn't have to worry about them at all.

The entire experience with Stellar Painting and Remodeling was fantastic. The owner Jack came to do the initial estimate. We checked out five contractors, Jack was the only contractor that brought a book of before and after pictures with him. Their focus is on kitchens and bathrooms, exactly what we needed. Stellar wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive bid but the pricing was fair and accurate without going over budget. Blake was always on time and cleaned up after himself each day. I was impressed that he himself did the entirety of the work, looks great! I will be using them again when we are ready to remodel the kitchen!

After some negative experiences trying to find someone who could re-do our master shower. Bob Wilson with Stellar renewed our faith in people. He came out when he said he would, he was very professional. We did not end up going with him for service simply because we had not anticipated how much it was going to cost to re-do the shower. We are going to wait until we have all the money saved, or see if one of our family members who lives out of state can come help us. However, if we had the money I would not hesitate to have Stellar to the project. Excellent customer service!

These guys were great. A little particular at times about exactly what was included in the scope of the work (not uncommon with a job this size), but overall I would recommend and work with them again.
