Rock Heating & Air Conditioning

Called in the morning and they gave me an appointment range for the afternoon. They called about a half hour before they came to give me an accurate arrival time. The diagnostics took under 20 minutes. They had the part on the truck, replaced it and then made sure that the air filter was good, no gas leaks and no CO in the furnace room. I used an Angie's List Deal and was able to buy the $78 diagnostic fee for $30. The repair men (2) were punctual, courteous and thorough. They got the furnace working within 45 minutes. Update: I was curious about the part price. It is a very common, easily obtained and utilized part. It sells for around $20-$25 everywhere. I'm not sure if it is customary to be charged about 10 times the price for the part and installation (cost charged for the part was $215). Diagnostic fee - $30 from an Angie's List Deal (normal cost $78); Part replacement - Ignitor - $215. Total cost - $245. I gave price a "B" rating since I got a bargain on the diagnostic but feel that $190 for a half hour (at most) installation fee or $380/hour is excessive.

Flame on my gas fireplace was not working properly. Appointment was quick and easy to schedule. The owner, Chris, called 30 minutes before arrival time to let me know he was on his way. Chris was polite and knowledgable and he made sure to spread a tarp on floor where he was working so nothing would get soiled during repair process. Appointment went smooth and he was quick. He also checked again before leaving to make sure everything was in working order. I will definitely use Chris again when needed.

I called them at 8a.m. at the beginning of the work day. The woman who answered the phone was very nice and said they could get to us between 10:30a.m. and 12:30pm TODAY! I got a phone call from the technician at 11am. saying they would be there closer to 11:30a.m and THEY WERE! Ernie introduced himself and his assistant, put shoe covers on, and asked to be directed to the thermostat, and then to the furnace. Within 30 minutes, they had the problem diagnosed and had the necessary replacement part with them on the truck. They were able to change out the broken piece quickly. The bill for the replacement part/install was $75 and I saved $48 dollars with the $30 service call coupon(from Angies List). Total bill was $105! I was very pleased! I will definitely call them again!

Chris cleaned out my gas fireplace, showed us how to light the pilot, and tuned it up explaining what it needed.

Called to see if they could arrive early. Which I liked. Half hour job. Papper work detailing everything they checked. No repaires necessary. Proffessional and effecient.

Chris, the owner of Rock Heating and Air Conditioning, was prompt, professional and pleasant. He performed an all point check on our furnace and cleaned it. He was helpful by answering my questions on filter types recommended. My husbands cat was even nice to Chris, which is a good sign. Usually he is irritated with strangers. Chris also checked and cleaned our gas fireplace, which sparkles now. Having both services completed in one call was very convenient. The cost was reasonable. We are looking at getting a humidifier installed in our unit, once we go over the model and cost. The call went well and Chris finished in a timely fashion. He did not try to sell me any more than I needed. It was a pleasant experience and we will be calling this company again. I would recommend Rock Heating and Air Conditioning for repair and service of your furnace, air conditioner, and gas fireplace.

Chris was exactly on time, quickly diagnosed the problem which he explained to me with an estimate. He had the problem solved in less than 30 minutes.

It turned out fine. They came probably within a week of me purchasing the deal. I was very satisfied with that service because he explained to me what all the extraneous little switches and things on our wall were for and he also was very helpful in that I asked him about connecting a fan to blow the heat throughout the room and he encouraged me that that would be ineffective because we had vaulted ceilings. So I was very thankful that he wasn't trying to gauge money from me.

I called Rock on a Sunday, not expecting an answer until Monday, but Chris called me back the same day and arranged to come over on Monday to check out my AC unit. He called me exactly at the time he promised on Monday and arrived promptly. He informed me the capacitor needed to be replaced and when I agreed he got to work on it and was finished within 10 minutes. My AC was up and running immediately. I would definitely use Rock again for any heating or cooling issue.

They did both services in about an hour and found no problems. I was expecting the worse since both units were over 15 years old. They were in an out fast.

Chris (owner/operator) arrived on-time and went right to work. He inspected the interior air handler and then worked on the outside unit. Our 15 yr old unit had been increasingly sounding louder this summer. Asked Chris to check and see if a bigger problem was developing. Chris performed his inspection and determined the noise to be excessive vibration from a loose a/c cabinet. He tightened everything down, cleaned out the elements and the unit sounds quiter than it has in the past. No extra services, parts, etc., were recommended or better yet, pushed. We're very satisfied and will now bring him back in the fall to conduct a heater inspection.

Ernie and Chris are always prompt and professional and they provide detailed sheets demonstrating the testing and cleaning functions they perform. They are also able to explain what other services may be necessary and why, and give thorough estimates for that as well. I highly recommend them!

I didn't think my AC was working like it should at the end of last summer, so I thought I would get a jump on the season and have it inspected now when theoretically the HVAC people are less busy. Chris came out and tested the pressures and inspected the system. Everything was within spec. He said a problem might not surface since being cold out, there was no load inside or outside on the system. I bet he had at least 1 hour of his time invested in me, but there was no charge. I will have him out when it warms up if the AC still isn't performing like I want.

I had Rock Heating come out and give me an estimate for both heating furnace and air conditioning. Chris was very professional and polite. He did give the impression that customers are number one priority. I did mark Rock Heating down to a 'B' on punctuality as he was 30 minutes late outside his window. If he would have called and stated he would be late, I would have gave him an 'A'. He did a walk through of my house to gauge my heating and air conditioning. He ran me through the heating and air conditioning process making it easier for me to understand. The company only installs one brand of heating/air conditioning. So if you are looking for a particular type, this company only has one (American Standard). I received the estimate that night. It wasn't broken down by parts and labor which I found it weird. But it seems all other companies are like that. His pricing was very competitive and I was about to go with this company as he gave me a military discount in addition to his internet special. The reason why I didn't go with his company was due to he was not able to install for another 2 weeks. He did offer for one of his workers to come out and replace the motor in my current furnace until he was able to install the new one. I did take him up on his offer, but decided to go with another company as they could install the next day. The other company had the product I really wanted at a good price. Rock Heating was still a lesser price (not by much).

Good. Chris of Rock Heating contacted me by email very soon after I purchased a deal here on Angie's List. We arranged everything by email, which was really convenient. He called when he was on his way, in the early part of the time window he'd given me for our appointment. He was thorough and efficient. He put down a cloth in front of the fireplace before working on it and made sure none of the soot got on the carpet. Chris also tested the fireplace exhaust carefully after he finishing cleaning it, which I appreciated because it had set off the CO alarms when it was inspected before I bought the place. It is now safe to use. He took the time to show me how to relight the fireplace pilot myself and told me about the furnace when he was working on it. I immediately noticed a huge reduction in how often my furnace runs after the cleaning. I was happy with the service, and called him back soon after when my water heater started dripping. He was helpful with that situation as well, identifying the problem which thankfully only needed a quick, easy fix.

The technican was great. He arrived promptly, identified the problem, then went out of his way to find the correct replacement part. He made an additional trip to source the correct part, then came back the same day to complete the project. He was very professional, and took the time to explain the problem, his repairs, and provide advice on our other HVAC needs.

Came on time, called to let me know how soon he would be at my house. Diagnosed the problem quickly, had to go pick up an expensive part and then returned that day and replaced the inducer motor.

Chris and Curtis came out and got it all done in 1 day. They are efficient, professional and courteous. You couldn't ask for any better service. As for the price I feel that it was well worth every penny. I didn't have any other bids to compare it to because of the 3 companies I had show up for estimates Rock was the only one to actually give me a price. Great company. I really like their work. I am a Master Electrician and have been around the trades for 19 years.
