WARNING!!! I hired this company for a move on 8/31. The salesman, was professional and adamant about me paying a 200.00 deposit. That is something that I have never heard after moving many times in the Denver area, but they were available when I needed them, and they had good reviews. A long story shorter. I hired them, paid a lot of money to move my big home from Elizabeth to Highlands Ranch. Some of my things were scratched, but I was willing to let it go. The night of the move, as they did not arrive until nearly noon, I went to pull something out of my dressers in my master suite, and found that the clothing that I had painstakingly folded was all wadded up, and keeping the drawers from opening at all... I left town on business for a week, so when I got back, I started putting my house in order. It took a few days to get to my master suite. When I did, I found that I had to pull items of clothing out of each dresser drawer, through a small crack, until the drawer was 1/2 empty, then they would open. In one of my dressers, I had a small chest with an expensive auto-knife collection, and some of my watches, also packed tightly within the clothing. When I pulled the chest out of the dresser, I noticed that there were items missing. I surmised that the reason all of my folded clothing was now wadded up, and stuffed haphazardly into the dresser, keeping the drawers from opening, is that the crew went through my dressers looking for valuables to steal. I contacted the lead, of the crew at Road Scholars, as we had befriended each other during the move, and even sent him a sample picture of one my missing knifes, but not of all of them. Within an hour, the Road Scholars lead (I will withhold names here) Texted me back asking, "Is this your knife"? Along with a picture of my knife matching that picture. Since the crew shrink wrapped my dressers at the original house, and cut the plastic off, with me standing there at the new house, that picture of my knife, proved that the crew went through my drawers (And wadded up all my clothing therein) at the original house, prior to shrink-wrapping the dressers. It was at that point that I realized that the Road Scholars crew had robbed me, before shrink-wrapping my dressers. There is more to this story, as I have discovered thousands of dollars of "other" missing items, and have filed a police report for theft, with the Douglas and Elbert County Sheriff's Departments this morning, 9/13/2021. I also called the owner of Road Scholars, and left a message. She has not had the courtesy to contact me. And I called the GM, and while he was attentive, he made it sound like these thieves would A) Not lose their jobs, and B) Were out there right now, at someones house. When he told me that they were coming to my house on 8/31, he called them the "A team"... I just wanted to write a review immediately, because this, "crew of thieves", and their other crews are somewhere out there, right now, very likely stealing from one of you. It has been two days, and the owner, has not communicated with me. Disrespectful company, and owner, with thieves moving your things. Don't hire thieves. Update: 9/14/21, I finally heard from the owner. She was exceptionally rude and denied everything, basically, calling me a liar, until I indicated that her lead had texted me a picture of my knife on Saturday. She quoted the text chain, during our conversation, from her lead, so she knew her crew had stolen from me, before she even called... So she lied to me as well. She interrupted me 30 times in a ten minute conversation, each time with her trying to put words into my mouth. She continually called herself stupid, and ignorant, and I do not understand why she acted so bizarre. I am the victim of her company. I finally couldn't take any more, since it is her company that sent thieves into my house, and they stole nearly $20,000.00 worth of my things, but I would imagine that I will find missing things for years... Don't do business with this person.

I recently had the misfortune to bring Road Scholars into my home. I got all the promises and none of the service. They destroyed many of my possessions. My home is next to Denver Water property. The delicate movers required masks and hazmat suits to pack my home due to the dust. They destroyed my antique breakfront. My Teak dining room table now has three holes. Lamps fans beveled glass lamps. I had been ill prior to the packing. I told Zach, the office manager. He came to supervise the packing and to bring hazmat suits and masks. He gave me paperwork to sign and when I questioned what he was giving me to sign. Zach said no need to worry we will take good care of you. When I filled out the insurance form supplied by his office I was told that I did not have insurance. Zach called me and tried to intimidate me. He was telling me things that never happened he even raised his voice. He said that because of me he had to meet with the insurance company. I put a negative review on the web site. They took it down and I re-entered it. Now the web site no long accepts review. I have a coin collection. I thought every valuable had been brought to my friends house. While unpacking one of the boxes I found three coin boxes ripped open and the coins not there. When I mentioned the theft to Zach he very sarcastically told me to go to the police if I had any problems. When I have completed unpacking I will bring them to the police. None of the coins can be replaced. They were fine with short hauls. They moved me from one hotel to another and from the hotel back to the house. No valuables and no furniture were involved with the move. Only two men were doing the move. I pity anyone who uses this company.

I was highly impressed with Sally's comforting understanding of the past experience of another moving company before finding Road Scholars. She respected and listened to my needs and concerns. I was going thru a major life change and she and the professional, experienced movers she sent (Miguel & Imad) where AMAZING and truly helped a very difficult and emotional move a much easier transition for me. I'M SO GRATEFUL!!!!!

The guys who moved me and the support team were highly professional, courteous, and patient. They worked hard. Two guys packed all day during day 1 and 6 came for day 2 and packed/loaded/unloaded about 7 hours. It felt to me like the amount of stuff in the house/basement/garage was a bit taxing and there were some corners cut: packing of boxes was of fair quality, stuff shipped to CA suffered A LOT of crushing and some damage to stuff, and a good number of things were missed when rooms were packed (yes I did final inspection and said it was good but alternative was to get the guys back in the house at a $300/hr ($5/min) clip). Guys were given a very challenging task (described above), worked very hard, were professional and accommodating. I feel the packing and stacking/loading for transport and stuff left behind were of a "fair" level of quality. Everything else was good or excellent. They came right in on their estimate. They tried to estimate high and I, though not intentionally, gave them an estimate which understated the amount of stuff to be moved.
Response from Road Scholars Moving & Storage
"Hello and thank you for the very valuable feedback. I am so happy to hear that we packed/loaded more than you originally expected and still came in right on estimate! Also, so glad that you felt our crews were: "highly professional, courteous, and patient. They worked hard." I am sorry to hear that everything was not fully packed, since you had not expressed this, we were not given the opportunity to fix the issue. As you stated, we do charge hourly, so we do have to charge for any services provided, however. Again, thank you for the 'A' in Professionalism, Responsiveness and Punctuality. Regarding the 'C' in Quality and our Overall score, I am sorry that it sounds like we missed the mark in these areas. Please call us, if you would like to further discuss. Thank you."

This is perhaps the most friendly, professional moving service I have ever worked with (and I've moved a LOT). The were on time, did exactly what they said the would for the price they quoted me and were super professional. We didn't have a single damaged item at the other end of the move.

The three movers were great. Very professional and efficient. They were very polite and introduced themselves to each of us. They worked very hard without taking a break. Overall the experience was good. We were a bit disappointed at their inability to reset up our Sleep Number bed and refusal to set up our spare bedroom bed (since they didn't disassemble the bed originally, they wouldn't set it up).

The day was supposed to be in the 50's and sunny, but as we know in Colorado it can turn on a dime and we ended up with freezing rain the night before the move. Even with the icy roads they only managed to be 15 mins late from when they said they would be there. Our three guys were courteous and handled our belongings with care, even in the cold weather and icy driveway. We were billed a flat rate fee of $159 an hour for the 3 guys and a truck and the move took a little over 6 hours. We were very satisfied with their work, we even made them cookies to keep them warm and their energy up. Will defiantly recommend them to others.

It went great! I was greeted with friendly, helpful service from the get-go: from making the reservation, walking through everything on the phone, to scheduling, confirmation, etc. They were very accommodating. Each person was very attentive - all of my requests were met and they were very responsive. On the day of the move, everything went smoothly (except for the rain/downpour right in the middle of it!). But they deducted 30 minutes from the total time frame due to the rain. The entire move took about 4 hours, and I even added a last-minute stop to pick up a couple more items - which was no problem. The movers were very professional and had no trouble with any of the furniture, and even helped me with some of my stuff for my car. I would definitely recommend Road Scholars to anyone moving!

Forrest and Sean were absolutely fantastic moving our belongings! They were there early in the morning and had the apartment emptied within a few hours. They then went straight to our new home and unloaded everything, getting the entire job done in 6 hours from start to finish. The only issue that we had was that the original estimate had included 10 boxes for us to fill before everything was removed and apparently no one told Forrest and Sean about that part. Luckily, they had a few wardrobe boxes that they let us use instead. Great service and great people.

This was a big deal purchase of $350 for $400 worth of moving purchases. The guys did a really good job, but the misquoted me before they came out. They honored the price, but were not super-nice. I mean, I get it because the guys that came out were expecting to make a certain amount but it was not what I talked to their dispatcher about. They hustled though, and did a really good job. They were like they had no idea what the Angie's List deal was about. I told them I had already prepaid for some of it. When they came out they were expecting me to pay them the full amount when I had already paid Angie's List the $350. Basically I should have had a $400 credit with them. They were expecting me to pay them $500 total, so I should only have had to pay $100 and I did but it took several calls to their main office. The person I talked to said they did not have anything on Angie's List, then they went to ask and then said they did. Anyway they did not end up overcharging me, but they did not seem to know they had an ad open, except one person in their office. They did a great job. It was not the fault of the guys who showed up. They really hustled and did an awesome job. But it was just bad communication by the company on their part. They definitely did a good job and the price was reasonable once they got it figured out. I did have to go back and forth with them a few times to try to get what I needed taken care of. They showed up on time. They were super-good.

Road Scholars define the meaning of a White Glove move. We have hired many movers over the years and these people were hands down, the best ever! We booked two men for two hours for two moves,10 days apart to remove and then replace furniture from our first floor to enable hardwood floors to be installed. The experience was perfect beginning with reserving the moving dates. We received confirmation calls the day before each move.

Both times the men also called a half hour ahead and arrived spot on time and finished ahead of schedule. They initially surveyed the job and then planned how and where to move each piece. They were polite, professional and worked as a highly efficient team. These guys really moved. They wrapped several pieces of furniture in plastic wrap to protect it. We had a few valuable pieces including a grandfather clock, that required special handling, and they exceeded our expectations. On both moves, the fellows were not the typical stereotype of a bull in a china shop mover. They really cared what they were doing and actually enjoyed their job - and it showed.

Road Scholars was not the cheapest, but the quality of the experience and the move - start to finish was worth every penny. We would not even consider using anyone else next time we need a mover.

We had one 25' truck, a crew of 4 to pack and load and a crew of 5 to unload in the new house. We started at 9am and finished at 5:30. All the guys hustled and worked efficiently. Nothing was broken or lost. One leg was slightly bent on a desk, but my husband took care of that ourselves.

Fabulous. My movers, Smog and Angel, gave me a courtesy call before their arrival and made it to my home shortly thereafter. Smog introduced himself and we quickly went over the work to be done in the house. In the mean time, Angel brought in a roll of shrink wrap (at no charge!) and introduced himself. The shrink wrap was very helpful. The two of them went right to work, even though I was distracted by the coincidental arrival of some other servicemen. The movers were very careful with all of my items and with my walls, and even pointed out existing damage to walls and furniture so it would be clear that they were being very careful. Both young men were quite courteous and friendly, while also being very focused on completing the work as efficiently as possible. It was clear by the way they spoke to each other that they knew what they were doing. They worked extremely hard, and completed an hour's job in 23 minutes. Excellent. There were no hidden charges, and only a one-hour minimum plus the one-hour service fee. A very good deal - I will definitely use them again and ask for Smog and Angel. Thank you, Road Scholars!

We had a very good experience with Road Scholars. The initial work through their website was more detailed than other websites we visited so they were able to give us a good estimate of the number of hours and size of crew that would be needed.

The crew of Jeremy, Michael, and Mariano were very efficient and hard working. In addition, they were very courteous and professional. The only item I gave them less than an 'A' was punctuality because they where about 30 minutes late. However, once they got to our house, they did a quick walk through with us of what needed to be moved and then got right to work. I especially liked the way they wrapped moving blankets around the stair rails and doors to protect both the doors/stair rails and the furniture they were moving. Another thing I liked about Road Scholars is that they charge you from the time they get to your door to the time they complete the moved at the new location plus one hour to cover travel to and from their facility. Other companies said they would charge from the time they left their facility to the time they returned to their facility. I like knowing that the charge was known before hand.

Our furnishings are in storage while we wait for the completion of our new house that is being built. When we move the furnishings from storage to the new house, we hope that we can get Jeremy, Michael, and Mariano again.

I hired Road Scholars to move my belongings from a one bedroom apartment to a house 6 miles away. My friends and I moved all the boxes before the movers arrived so that there would only be the large items left for the movers to transport. When the movers arrived they did a quick walk through and said it would take 6 hours to complete the move - which made no sense with only a one bedroom of furniture only. I was told this was just a padded estimate. There was only about an hours worth of furniture and things to move left in the apartment. After 2.5 hours passed and only one mover was carrying one item down to the truck at a time, my friends and I started moving my things down to the truck ourselves. We moved more in 30 minutes that what was moved in the previous hour. The truck left my apt without checking with me. I was clear with the movers that I was concerned that they are moving intentionally slow and I was told - 'we said 6 hours'. My belongings arrived in good shape, but the attitude I received after stating my concern left an unpleasant experience upon arrival at my home. My things were not unwrapped and the furniture was placed haphazardly. I just wanted the experience to be over. The time clocked ended up at 4.5 hours, which was disappointing because if my friends and I had moved the rest of the items, this would have easily been an under 3 hour move.
Response from Road Scholars Moving & Storage
"Hello, I am very glad to hear that you were happy with the quality of our service. However, I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the 4.5 hour final charge. All one bedroom moves are different and many variables go into the length of your move, such as: access at all locations, the amount of items moved and level of preparation. Thank you for your feedback and concerns. Road Scholars Moving & Storage"

They were fast and they were friendly people. They were hardworking people and none of the frontier they moved had any damage. Overall we were happy with the performance. We were not charged extra. They charge was based on hours, there were no surprise charges. They came on time and they said that they would call us half an hour before they came and they did. The price was okay and we had a coupon from Angie's List. They were responsive because i got an email from them and a day before they called me to remind me and they came within the time frame they said they would come.
