Metro Camera Service Inc

Metro Camera stated that for $35 they would assess and give a repair estimate within 24-48 hours of receiving an item. We took a Canon lens to them for repair. After waiting one week for a phone call, we started calling them back, with no response from them. After multiple unanswered voice mails, we finally reached them and were told that they (a woman) would have to call us back after she talked with her tech person. Again, we waited for a call back which did not come. We initiated another series of unreturned calls. We reached them after several days of calling and were told that they had to send the lens directly to Canon because of the extent of damage. We agreed to this and were told that they would call us with the repair estimate and time frame. Well by now you get the picture ... no return phone calls ... another round of unanswered voice mails to them .... etc. Finally, she told us that Canon could not repair the lens because they no longer supported that model so we picked up the unrepaired lens from Metro (after paying our $35 assessment fee). After the seemingly unprofessional, disorganized response from Metro, we were not comfortable believing her statement that Canon would not repair the lens because it was an older model. We called Canon direct for confirmation of this policy. Metro Camera's assertion that Canon would not repair the lens was completely inaccurate. There was no problem getting the lens repaired with Canon at all nor was there any issue with discontinued support or model. We had the lens back in a week. After this disappointing and frustrating experience, I would never patronize Metro Camera again.

My overall experience with them was average. They were not responsive or punctual. I would use this company in the future.

It is a full-blown warranty system so sometimes it is free. The price is competitive. It depends on what you break. They are very good in their responsiveness.
