The remodel started as scheduled, the HR team cleared out the old master bath in one day and started prepping the other projects as well. The flow of work was quick and each day significant progress was made. There were only 2 snafus I recall, a cut to the shower water pipe and a reworking of the frame for the shower seat but they were quickly resolved and the work moved at a good pace. We had HR create a new shower with a corner seat and shampoo niche using glass tile and pebble for the shower base which they did fantastically. For the kitchen, HR removed the old mess of mixed counters we had and installed oak butcher block on all counters as well as a new sink and new cooktop/hood system. The team worked very h****** the counters to get it right and installed all of the appliances perfectly. We chose slate for the floor and glass/travertine tile for the backsplash and the HR team all of it perfectly. They measured and tested all installation before completing the final work to ensure it was perfect. Cyndi the owner does all of the time and she is fantastic at it and completed the work in a timely manner. For the backporch, HR removed a wood and galvanized lean-to the previous owner had built and was attached to the house, No damage was caused to the house and all of the debris was cleaned up properly. HR had a subcontractor build a wall to close off an enclosed area of the porch we had already and that is great too. The stucco work matches the house perfectly and looks original. Overall, HR and their subs did great work and at a great price! They were always friendly and communicated all aspects of the job so we knew what was happening. Our dogs really miss them too, so that shows you how nice they are. We want to wish them all the best and we will definitely be calling them for other renovations we have.
Description of Work: I contacted Homework Remodeling to renovate our master bath, replace our kitchen counters/sink/cooktop/floors. And also to remove a backpatio cover the previous owner had built. I called a couple of other remodelers for estimates but I instantly liked Cyndi when she came out for the estimate. She and her team were professional, open-minded, and very friendly plus they love animals which is a plus in our house.

lThey replied promptly after my initial inquiry (within the day) and were able to provide me a quote and an outline of what they needed to do. They showed up on time and were very professional. It wasn't easy (it took the about 3 hours) but it was well worth it. All communication was very easy and always had a quick quick reply and answered all my questions. Top notch and wonderful to work with. My daughter loves her new doors. Happy daughter=satisfied customer!

When he initially contacted us, he was very concerned about what it would take to install a door on this space. We were very pleased to be able to provide a custom door at a reasonable price. When we got there, the opening was taller and thicker than we had anticipated, but we framed and sheetrocked the top, put a jamb extension on and got the job done. Happy customer=happy remodeler.
My experience with Cyndi Krieger of Homework Remodeling was great. She stayed with the job until it was complete in spite of all the obstacles she found in the job. I have all dos and no don'ts for Cyndi. She is very capable of planning and executing any repair I asked for. Her experience and knowledge are fantastic. She is great to work with and keeps a clean work area. A big bonus is that she likes animals, is very easy to work with, and has a very positive attitude.
Description of Work: Cyndi Krieger owner of Homework Remodeling built a cat house with cat door access from my garage. It is a very substantial addition and done professionally. She and her employees Seth and Kyle performed so many repairs on my house, they are hard to remember. She repaired my deck and stairs by leveling and replacing the rotten wood. She installed flagstone steps going to the outside door of cat house and also some down to storage building. She moved a cabinet in my kitchen to accomadate a larger fridge. Besides the big cat house project, she installed a heated porclean tile floor in my basement den, utility room and bathroom. About 430 sq ft.

We were very glad that we caught several safety issues missed by her inspector and she now she doesn't have to lean while she walks down her deck stairs or worry about it falling down. Taking apart the stairway and adjusting for the sinking (and someone else's failed coverup) was a real challenge. We were very happy that we could enact the repairs without the expense to her of rebuilding an elaborate deck. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the mountains with this wonderful woman and her pets and I consider her a friend as well.

We purchased a Big Deal over a year ago. We had some challenges choosing the right project and matching our needs up with Homework Remodeling's expertise. In addition, there were often long delays as we tried to coordinate our schedules and the work. But, in the end, we had the perfect project for them! It was past the expiration date for the Big Deal, but Homework Remodeling honored the coupon nonetheless. Two painters arrived on time and immediately began masking everything off. My husband and I were amazed with how thorough the guys were, to ensure that not a drop of ceiling paint touched any furniture or walls. They were very polite and conscientious, and even worked around my old dogs! After the guys left, there was no evidence (other than a slight new paint smell) that anyone had been in the house! It was a small job, but such a good experience. Hubby has announced that he's hanging up his handyman belt and will be calling Homework Remodeling for more projects! :)

As my employees were masking and covering all surfaces, they were very surprised to be told that this was much more extensive than a well-known painting company did when they painted their home. Protecting people's homes and belongings from damage is a vital part of the job. Thanks to Seth and Kyle and their dedication to quality and customer service. Big Deals are not hard to schedule provided you are fine with limiting yourself to the 12 hours or just adding an hour or two on to finish a project. We did more than 30 of these, just showing up and handling a list of projects until the time was up. They initially wanted an estimate to fur out walls in the basement, but decided against the project. However, when they reconnected and asked for the painting, we only needed some information on the scope and paint color and we showed up and completed the project in the same day. We look forward to the future projects he outlined to my crew.
Cyndi and Seth are great. I used them for several jobs over a five month period. They do really good work, they do what they say they are going to do and at the price they say it's going to be. And, Cyndi's pricing is exceedingly fair. Cyndi is one of the most reliable and ethical contractors I've ever worked with and would not hesitate to recommend her or use her again. Great experience!

It was quite a challenge to figure out how to support 2 load bearing walls on a 100 year old house so we could remove a freestanding corner, but we succeeded and opened up the area tremendously and were quite pleased with the results. We also enjoyed the challenge of creating a usable covered parking, lawn and deck space from a postage size yard. The results were well worth the effort, however.

We did this job as part of a 12 hour big deal. When we came back to do more work, we actually worked more on her gutters without charge because we felt that the work should have been right. Unfortunately, the drip cap allows water behind the gutters and in spite of all our efforts, apparently there are new drips in different locations now.

Mother has Alzheimers, so doing this project in a quick, organized manner took a ton of organization, speed, and talent. Cyndi and staff were more than accomodating and did a great job. Beautiful tile work. New extra large shower all framed in glass. We also had some beams holding up the roof that rotted with age and they checked for sturctural damage and repaired both. Could not be happier.

Cindy is a delight to work with. We hired her as a general contractor at first to manage our remodel project in our newly purchased home. We needed someone to facilitate everything since we were still out of state. We completely gutted and remodeled our kitchen, put hard wood floors in and gutted and remodeled the basement. Cindy was always the person we were in contact with. She worked really well with our floor contractor and electrician. She sent us pictures and updates daily so we could see the progress they were making. She was very easy to get a hold of via phone or email and always had a very positive attitude. She listens well for what you want from her and her team and does a great job at making sure we knew what we were getting. She provided suggestions if we asked for them, which is very helpful when we were not there to see, feel and touch with our eyes. We trust Cyndi, and felt very comfortable that she was not only looking out for us inthe projects being done to the house, but also looking out for the house while we were not there. I would highly reccommend Homework remodeling for any of your household remodeling needs.
Description of Work: Homework Remodeling gutted, drywalled and painted our kitchen. They also raised the ceiling of the kitchen, installed the cabinets, and hooked up most of the appliances. They gutted the basement, raised the ceiling, installed batting in the celing, reframed parts of it and painted it. They also reframed and put new doors on our entry way closet and put new doors on an upstairs closet. One of my favorite things they did was widen the door way to the basement bedroom and put french doors in. This took a lot of searching for the right doors and trimming them once they arrived. Homework also fixed a section of siding on the house with no problem.

I could not be more pleased. They emailed me pictures of the shelf as they finished it off site so that I could approve the color. I though pride in workmanship was a thing of the past, but Cyndi and Seth are perfectionists and their creation makes me smile every time I look at it. They were exactly on time, brought everything needed and set up a workshop in my front yard. They cleaned everything up after the project was completed, which happened quickly, despite their insistence on the work being perfect. I have engaged Homework in another project and feel confident I will be delighted with the work once again
Description of Work: Having previously been very pleased with the work of Homework Remodeling in aligning and rehabing my old wooden windows, I called them again to create a custom shelf for my bedroom. I requested that the finishing of the shelf be done off site because I am likely to get migraines, if I have to smell strong odors like urethane. They were to match the finish of other items in the room.

We originally purchased a Big Deal from this provider for a day's worth of Contractor Service,. What I thought was going to take all day...drywall and window hardware repair only took about an hour and a half. Cyndi and Seth came back 2 more times to give us our full amount of time. The second time was for dismantling, removing and replacing the lighting fixtures in our kitchen and then painting the entire kitchen ceiling because the old fixture left a big yellow square right in the middle of our beautiful new track lighting.. VERY efficient! It would have taken my husband and I at least 2 hours just to do the taping around all the cabinets and the track lighting for the painting! They masked or covered everything in the kitchen. Cyndi and Seth were a pleasure to work with and we will definitely be calling them again for other upgrades we have in mind. The do a LOT of different things.

They were very responsive, both via phone and email, before and during the project. I had purchased 6 hours of work through a BIg Deal on Angie's List. They had a high number of responses, yet kept in touch with me via email and phone calls. I originally planned to have the ceiling in my kitchen and living room insulated with sheetrock installed over the foam insulation. After moving all of the furniture and free-standing cabinets out of the living room and kitchen, I decided to have laminate flooring installed, too. They were able to fit this into their schedule the following week. They worked well with a homeowner who had not hired contractors before. I have shown pictures of my living room and kitchen to friends and family and they have been impressed with the work. I am very happy with the work and the price and would use the company again.

We hired Cyndi with Homework Remodeling to retile our shower/bath and she did an excellent job. Two years ago we had our bathroom remodeled and we were very displeased with the tile work. This is an older home (1944) and walls are slightly uneven. The shower area has a large window with window sill. At the time we purchased enough tile to redo the job, but did not buy the bullnose end pieces to make finish the edges. We searched for matching tile but the new pieces were darker.Cyndi suggested we could create a pattern with the new and old tile pieces so that it would appear as if we had planned the color differences. The effect was unique and her work was outstanding. As with most remodeling jobs, there are some setbacks. The bathtub was cracked during the removal of the old wall tile, but Cyndi purchased a new tub and installed it at no cost to us. The job took a lot longer due to the extra work to cut each tile to fit the new pattern and uneven edges of our bath. She literally had to cut each tile piece. Not one piece could be installed as a complete square piece. I would definitely hire Cyndi and her company again.

They did an extremely good job at everything they did and therefore the quality of their work was good. Their price was very reasonable. The reason I gave them a "C" for overall quality is because they said they had a roller to roll the asphalt but when they showed up, it was broken. I had to spend another $70.00 to rent a roller on top of their regular charge. I didn't find this professional.

As part of our Big Deal coupon, we show up and do our best to complete whatever is on the customer’s wish list in the 6 hours we have allotted. She mentioned that she wanted some asphalt patched, but when we got there we found a 10'x10' area of driveway that needed to be filled in with patch bags. Our 30 lb roller was not broken, it was just not the right tool to compact such a large space, and we suggested that we rent an actual compactor which I feel was the professional thing to do, and created a much better outcome than we would have had any other way.

While it did take a while to get the appointment set up, due to some health issues of one of the company owners, When they did come out, they worked very hard, and did a wonderful job doing the work that I wanted. I had some OBS board that I had hired someone else to build me a bookshelf at the top of my stair, instead of putting up a railing. I did not have a pattern, just an Idea of what I wanted. I spoke to Cyndi about my idea, she built the book case exactly how I envisioned it to be. She made some suggestions that would make it work better. I had not purchased enough 2x4's to complete the job, so I ran back to the hardware store so they could complete both big jobs. While cutting the shelves for the bookcase, they accidentally cut one of the board wrong, they replaced the board with their own stock. They had all the equipment that they needed to complete the job, and asked me my opinion along the way to make sure we were all on the same page of what I wanted. They were able to build the 8' long book case and the knee wall. They didn't have enough time to tape and mud the knee wall. But I was okay with that, since I have additional drywall work I need to have done. I may be hiring them to come back out to do the drywall work. After hiring another drywall company to do some patches, they left the drywall finish in a state that I will need to sand down the drywall patches before I will be able to paint. (I expect a drywall patch to be primer/paint ready when I hire a drywall company, I have found many contractors do not have the same theory as I do).
Description of Work: I purchased an Angie's deal for this company to do some carpentry jobs around the house. I had a list of projects that I wanted to have completed, not knowing how long the large projects would take. They were able to complete the two biggest projects in the 6 hours of labor that the Angie's deal covered. I had them build a built-in bookshelf in my great room and replace an iron railing by a loft area with an L-shaped knee wall.

We were pleased to be able to complete the work they wanted done in the time allotted. We even had time to do a few other tasks, which always makes us feel good. We are looking forward to helping them with their sun room.

They are very nice people and easy to work with. They had some work that had come out at the same time which hindered the project a little bit so they had come out and finish. The guy is a bit older and is not in the best of health which does not make it easy. As for punctuality we did not establish any guide lines.
Description of Work: I used Homework Remodeling a week ago to build a deck.

His deck was built in a very unusual way and presented lots of challenges to repair. We enjoyed rising to the task and feel that we accomplished what we were asked to do. We did our best to work with him since he was doing part of the work himself, and we appreciated his patience with our chaotic work schedule. We had some mold/water damage in a rental that kept expanding and needed to be dealt with for health issues, just as my husband developed a medical condition that eventually required surgery to correct. We are most grateful for his understanding.

There was Angie’s big deal and it was 12 hours for $295 or something like that. The one thing that I liked is that I had some materials that were required so they washed the hours with the materials as I didn’t use all my hours. What I disliked is that the guys who actually did the work, I had to have them come back and fix a couple of things. After they fixed it once I took another look at it and it still needed to be fixed, but they were still here so they did it again. It finally got taken care of. I would use them again in the future if need be.
Description of Work: Homework Remodeling repaired two fences and hung a new garage back door a couple of weeks ago.

100% customer satisfaction is always our goal and we will do what we need to do to meet that goal. There was some misunderstanding of the problem he was trying to correct and we were very pleased that he was there when we returned to ensure that we met his expectations.

Both of them were meticulous and I am happy with their work. He did not rush, he took his time, and he made sure that everything fit snuggly. He did it like I would have if I had done the work. The price seemed pretty reasonable. They were here within the time frame that they gave me and they were very professional.
Description of Work: Homework Remodeling did some stair treads and risers on the stairs down to the basement.

We were happy to help them with their basement stairs. Since they normally do all their own work, we are very pleased that we met their expectations.
