Dorrell Construction

They made a lot of promises, but once they had a majority of their money, they backed out of a lot of the things that they said they were going to do. We had them do so work in the basement. We had a problem basement and they had to redo the flooring and drywalls and tear the place out. To get the job, they also said that they would throw in carpeting for our stairway to the basement free of charge. When they realized that they would actually have to pay for the carpet, which I feel was about $90 worth of carpet, they wanted to charge us $500. They reneged on their original agreement on what they were going to accomplish. On top of that, it took them three months to do something that a professional company would have taken two weeks. The communication was horrible. The owner, Keith Dorrell, was using other master carpenters to do the job for him. He would get the job and then pass it to somebody else. That made it extremely awkward not being able to deal with him. I wasn’t sure if I should call the guy doing the work or I should get in touch with Keith. I actually fired him about three times. I told him not to come into my house again, and if he did, I would call the police. It was just a horrible experience.

It went great from the beginning. This was damage from a ceiling pipe leak that collapsed the ceiling drywall and soaked the carpet. Keith coordinated with my insurance claim adjuster's estimate and stayed within that quote. All repairs were above expectation. Keith and Derek pointed out any additonal problems along the way and also took care of a couple of "side jobs" which they were able to fit in their schedule. I will definitely use Dorrell Construction again.

It went great! After a few schedule conflicts, Bill and his team fixed the drywall on the inside in a few hours. They were very courteous and took the time to do the job right. You can't even tell there was ever a hole there! A few days later, their siding guy came over and and matched the color of our house perfectly. He also fixed a spot on the back of our house where a grill had melted the siding. He did an excellent job!
