Don's Garage Doors

Description of Work: We have an automatic double garage door that started making loud noises when opening and closing. I bought a coupon through Angie's List from Don's Garage Doors, and arranged to have it checked on August 2. The technician arrived, and after much banging and pounding, told me it was fixed, and would give me no more trouble. I'm not sure he made it to the end of our road before I tried opening the door. It was worse than before he worked on it, and I had great difficulty getting it to close. I called Don's, and complained. The same man came back the next day or so, banged around some more, and called it fixed. His efforts made it worse, if possible. My husband looked at it when he got home, and found the technician had actually bent the metal track that the rollers run along while opening and closing such that the rollers came close to completely jumping the tracks. My husband bent the tracks back into the correct position, and the door now works better than it did before Don's entered the picture!

Description of Work: We've had issues with our garage door since we moved into this house in March. We've had John from Don's Garage door out several times. The last time was broken bolts that caused the door to be off line and not close. John was able to fix the problem in 15 minutes, and charged me less than the quoted price because the fix was so simple. We plan on having Don's replace our present door as soon as the change is approved.

Description of Work: I had used Don's before with good results. I used an Angie's List coupon for a garage door inspection and a keypad installation. When I called, the garage opener wasn't working. The technician found that it was from a loose wire (that happened with a light bulb replacement). He fixed the wire and said the best deal would be to use the tune-up coupon which I did. I am very happy with my keypad opener. Total bill was $89.

Description of Work: I had a Wayne Dalton I - drive that stopped working. Laif came out and assessed the damage and informed me of my options. We were able to reuse an older garage door system that I had and move on my way, with not much money being spent. I will definitely use them again. They were on time, honest and efficient. Description of Work: They were offering a free check of our garage door system, with replacement rollers at a discount. When they checked them they found that the rollers they were offering as part of their prepurchase deal would not fit my door. Consequently my best option was to go with larger rollers that were more expensive. I chose to go with the higher quality more expensive rollers. He had to go back to his shop to get the correct. The installation was done quickly. I just wish they would have mentioned this before I purchased the packaged deal.

Description of Work: Sterling arrived promptly on time. He went right to work and replaced my broken hinge, adjusted the garage door track and serviced and lubricated the door. My garage door is old and I was very afraid that I would be told that I needed a new door and that the door could not be repaired. I am very happy that I have found Don's Garage Doors and will alway call them when I need my garage door repaired.

Description of Work: Don's showed up very promptly! And servayed my garage problem, and quickly determined they could not help me and that I had to go the manufacture. I would do business with them if they could service my garage!

Description of Work: The guys came over and did a maintenance on my garage doors. They tighten my springs tighten bolts and screws. The did a great job with explaining everything to me.

Description of Work: My spring had snapped on the left hand side of a 2 car garage, this happened 5 months ago and The Garagedoor Guy had repaired it with a extra spring I had from the previous snap. He was very resonable and quick service(same mourning) and only charged me $75.00 for the call and insallation. He had installed a new garage door opener before that. Well, this time he was out of town when I called him and waited till he got back. When we spoke on Monday or Tuesday he was under the impression that he thought my door had needed to be replaced, so he would not repair the spring. I believe he had confused me with another customer, so I moved on to Don's who had 31 reviews and an A rating. They were responding within a half hour, and here within an hour. The price quoted over the phone for 2 new springs replaced would be $220 parts and labor. I agreed, and a young man was sent, his name was Kelly. very polite and got to work. He had to leave to get the springs, I have an older door, but still works. I used the coupon for free rollers, but upgraded to nylon rollers, which are less noisey, but a challenge to install, gave Kelly an extra hand to install them. Had to pay extra $35 for the special only covered 10 rollers and I had 14, so I am not sure that is what happens with every garage door? The work came with a 3 year warrenty on the springs and 1 year warrenty on the labor.
