On time, and a little over budget, as an HOA fencing requirment was not known at the time of quote

Bad, damage to my existing water feature, no response from company for follow up, just a bad experience overall.

Dean's Sprinkler was great! After promptly providing us with a design and quote, we scheduled the service for as soon as the weather would allow. The workers were on time every day, worked all day, cleaned up after themselves, were polite and professional, and asked us questions along the way if needed. They also made sure to always close our backyard gates so our dogs would not escape when we let them out. The entire project took five days. They installed a new sprinkler system, drip line, edging and rocks around our entire house, bushes and plants, and did a beautiful ring around our tree. I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing sprinkler or landscaping work.

I have to say first off, that service fluctuates with these guys. I've had both good and bad experiences over the years. One year, they sent some guys who just wanted to tear out my system and sell me a new one. I felt it was two guys thinking they could put something over on a woman. When I complained, I was later told that those guys had been fired. The next experience was good, with them creating a box in the back yard to access all of my zones more easily, and the pricing was reasonable. All was well until Fall of 2013. I called for my regular winterization. When the fellow was done, he charged me $80, when in the past I hadn't paid more than $60 or $65. There was no warning about this dramatic rate increase. My feeling is that with a regular customer, they should have told me on the phone that rates had increased before sending someone out. I paid, but was not happy. As mentioned, their service and pricing is sometimes OK, sometimes not. Makes me wonder if the owner isn't always as involved as he should be.

This was one of the best lawn sprinkler system experiences I have had in the 16 years I have been in my home. The team of 2 technicians arrived on time after calling to let me know they were on their way. They examined all of the zones and repaired or adjusted a number of sprinkler heads. They took their time, listened to my input about past dry areas of the lawn, made suggestions and kept me informed of every step of the process and did not do any work before explaining what they wanted to do and how much it would cost to do the work. They were fast, efficient, thorough, professional, and the price was very fair for the amount of work done. I plan on using Dean's again for all of my sprinkler system needs.

Big Mistake!They assured us that they would pull a permit (for which they charged us) but never did, they did demolition on a Monday, and did not pour until the following Monday, stating they had no access to concrete.When the bid was given, we were told it would be a two day process, demo and pour. Not at all the case. Also, had much difficulty in having them move two sprinkler heads for landscaping that we were to do. The technicians were too busy having a chat session with each other and therefore it took well over two hours for a job that they bid out at 1 hour. And then, didn't even complete the entire project.Made several calls, emails etc to the company expressing our concerns and wanting either a permit or reimbursement thereof and were never called back or given any type of assistance with our concerns.

They are top drawer. They did a wonderful job, worked very hard and got it completed in 2 days. There isn't a better crew around.

David was the manager from Dean's in charge of the services provided for my lawn. He did not charge more than he quoted me during his free estimate. His work was meticulous. Before aeration started, he had all the underground lines tagged, and made sure not to hit any of them. He completed the work with his team in three visits (including estimate visit, the line blow out did not need to be done until later in the season). When I asked him some questions about how his team had adjusted the valves to my system after the blowout of the water lines, he responded professionally to my e-mail, less than a day after I sent it. David will also be following up in the spring to make sure that all the work he did is on track to deliver the results we are looking for. Not many landscaping services offer viable non-gmo, non-chemical fertilizer and herbicide options, but Dean's Sprinkler Service and Landscaping does. This is important to me, because I don't want to expose my toddler (or the local bee population) to nasty chemicals when he is playing in the yard. Dave also gave good maintenance tips re the proper height to trim the grass to minimize weed infiltration, how often to mow the lawn etc. I fully expect to see my lawn looking a whole lot better this summer, and highly recommend Dean's Sprinkler Service and Landscaping.

They were friendly, kind, and considerate. They knew what to do and told me what was happening. I was satisfied with their business. I would give them a B+

They go above and beyond for me and really take care of the grass. The give good personal service.

Kim came out on June 22 to assess my needs. She was very nice. Walked with me to look at both front and back yards. First talked about the brown patches in my lawn. I asked if I needed a new sprinkler system or just a repair. She told me the sprinkler system people would have to come out & assess. Proceeded to talk about landscaping wants & needs. She came up with some possible ideas. When asked about my budget, I said that it would depend on whether the sprinkler system needed replacement or just repairs. I said I would be willing to spend at least $3,000 over the cost of repairs and would have to adjust if the entire system needed replacement and might need to go with a 2 year plan with landscaping the second year. I asked for a 2-tiered estimate: 1) the cost of a nicely landscaped yard and 2) the cost of a superbly landscaped yard. She then took measurements and told me it would be 2 weeks before she could get back to me. Four weeks later, I called the company and asked about my estimate. Very soon after that I received an email saying she had been really busy. The estimate contained a rough explanation of where some plants would go with names of plants, most of which were unfamiliar to me. Only one estimate was provided. When I emailed back that I was disappointed with her service, she told me that my (low) budget had restricted her to just a few plants because replacing my sprinkler system was going to cost at least $3,000. She said that they do not repair sprinkler systems, only replace them. There was never any correspondence from her to confirm our conversation during her on-site assessment in June. I will say that since I was unsure about what I wanted/needed, my requests were vague and my budget an approximation at best. Kim took no responsibility for any miscommunication. With better communication, I would have been very willing to increase my budget (again, going with a 2 year plan). I would also have welcomed a chance to speak directly with the sprinkler system people. I feel that a lot of the miscommunication would have been avoided with timely emails.

The sprinkler and landscaping part of the job went very well. Revisions were made throughout. The concrete work is where the issues occur. The concrete was done on a day when it rained, and the clean up work has not yet been completed. One repair was done with concrete of a different color... I'm not sure how to go about fixing this. The split rail fence work was awesome. The only drawback here is the gate is not level, and I'm waiting for the warranty work to be done on this.

Dean's did the job... but it wasn't great. (1) I had to bring to their attention that they forgot to install a zone on the north side of our house, which they did fix. (2) They did not completely remove the rock from the beds. When we went to landscape the area there was quite a bit of rock and debris still there. (3) They did not slope for positive drainage. When it rains, the water still drains towards the foundation and there is a "hump" in the back yard next to our patio. (4) The sprinkler system valve's keep getting stuck and won't shut off. One time it happened while we were away and the system ran for 12 hours.... flooding our basement because there was no positive drainage. The only thing I am happy with is the weed barrier and rock that was installed in our back yard.

Service dropped from an 'A' to an 'F' this year. After three years with Dean's I fired them last week as my Sprinkler service company. Since April we've been working with them to just get our system up and running and adjust the coverage in our yard to eliminate the dead spots. Everytime the service tech arrived he had to leave within 30 minutes to"take care of another customer" (I guess I wasn't important enough). Four visits and the work is still not done. I offered one more chance to resolve the matter wanting both a tech and a manager to come to house. The tech cancels 5 minutes before the appointment and the manager never showed or called. After 3 years as a customer I called to cancel my service. No manager was available to talk with me and to date, no manager has even called to follow-up.

They are terrible!!! Dean's came to my house five times -- the first two times, they left the side gate open and let my dogs out; I asked at least three times for them to cut my lawn shorter -- I finally met them at the house to SHOW THEM what I was talking about (they had no idea I'd spoken to the office). Finally, they didn't show because of "rain" on Wed (my scheduled day and it was NOT raining in Littleton) and left a terse message that they would be back to cut on Sunday. The office is the pits. No one communicates with anyone ... I terminated my account and found another wonderful provider on Angie's list. Very, very, very unprofessional company.

I had used Dean's Sprinkler Service to service and maintain the sprinkler system in a house I previously owned, and had been very satisfied with their work. When I heard that Dean's Sprinkler had branched out to landscaping, I was comfortable in contacting them to handle the backyard project at my new home. They were to put in a new concrete patio, a new back fence, correct some grading problems to assist with water drainage, and amend the soil in the backyard. The fence that was constructed was substandard, with pickets not being nailed into the horizontal support beams, the fence was crooked (picket panels were "shimmed" to the posts to try and straighten the fence), and the gate wouldn't open without being lifted. After complaining about the job, personnel from Dean's finally came out to photograph the fence and it was ultimately re-constructed. The fence is now straight and the gate opens, but the materials from the substandard fence were used to construct the new fence so the pickets and supports are full of holes and splits. The new concrete patio was set too deep into the ground, so the water from the backyard runs to it and puddles around the edge. The back concrete step of my house was cracked during the installation of the patio and a large chunk tore out. Downspouts on the south side of the house were run into a "french drain" that isn't pitched right, so if rain or snow melt is light, the water doesn't drain. The drain was run to the backyard, so if rain or snow melt is heavy, it runs to the patio. When I continued to complain and ask that the situation be made right, I was informed that I since I didn't purchase a "complete" backyard landscaping project, I had gotten what I paid for. There has been no further effort by Dean's Sprinkler Service and Landscaping to fix the mess they created.

They are terrific! I live with my daughter and my room is downstairs. There is a porch downstairs they were also working on and they made sure the area was always clear and easy for me to get in and out. They were so nice and did such a nice job. I made cookies for them since they were so sweet. They also installed a handicapped rail for me so I don’t have to use the steps with my walker. The price was well within reason and the quality of work was superb. They come out during the year to shut down and start up our irrigation system as well.

Great work by Dean's crew. I was managing a quick fix n flip residential job and the homeowner decided to re-sod the entire front yard 2 days before the house was going to be listed on the market. In the afternoon I call David from Dean's and he had a crew out first thing the next morning. They did an amazing job, prepped the whole yard, soddd it perfectly & got the whole front lawn looking perfect before the realtor came to take exterior photos. Props to Dean's for doing an amazing job and being willing to accommodate our last minute schedule.

I decided to go with one company that could do both landscape and concrete, utilizing one foreman to oversee the whole job, since many of the projects overlapped. I have had Dean's do some landscaping and sprinkler repair in the past, so decided to have them do the whole job. They started sooner than predicted and worked around my schedule. The job took longer than they thought (5 weeks), but I'd rather they take their time and do it well, than hurry through. Overall, they were consistent with their estimates, about middle of the road. The foreman was available on the job or by phone during the whole project and even after the project when I had questions about the new sprinkler system. I can't say the job was top notch (especially the concrete), but after having much remodeling done in my home, I realize crews are not going to work to perfection as I would, doing it myself. Some repair was needed on the front walkway, they came out and patched it. I feel confident that if there are any issues that come up, they will come out and resolve. The companies that they sub contracted with (gas and electric) were great!

Overall experience with teh company has been great. Very professional on the phone. I set up an appointment and they came in the time slot they said they would. Performed the work. I will keep using this company for all my yard and sprinkler work.

This project went really well. They were very helpful to make sure that I was getting what I wanted. The crew of guys worked very hard and were pleasant as I made small changes throughout the installation.

Received an estimate on a partial or a whole sprinkler system. The guy was very nice and on time. I accepted the quote for the whole replacement because I was not sure of the condition of any part of the homemade "old" sprinkler system. The worker arrived on time and did a fabulous job installing the new system, so I thought. They did not replace any of the piping or valves inside the crawl space that already was existing which lead to further problems later. That fall I had them come out to blow out the sprinkler system and it was still dripping. The man said that it would not be a problem and to have them come out and fix it in the spring. Guess what my pipe burst, furthermore, I had to pay for the fixing. Not only that but they installed a new shut off vaulve backwards. I asked why I was paying for the new vaulve when they made the desicion to not replace it. The guy said that they should have replaced it becuase the valve that was there is known to leak but it basically was not his problem. So I had to pay for the new backwards valve and pipe. This guy told me to request for him to blow out my sprinkler and he would fix the valve in the fall. Ok fine. All summer our timer has been going off for no reason, as well. I called to complain and they came to fix the valve and the timer and they tried to charge us for the trip charge, I don't think so. This was the only thing we have received for our troubles. One of our trees in the front yard did not get any leaves. They cut almost all the way around this tree but I figured I hired a professional company and they know about mature trees. WRONG. They killed the tree, our favorite tree, a weeping birch. When I called to compalain about all the issue they said it was not thier fault. The tree professional said different. I will not be using the company ever again, not even for blow outs and startups.

On time, On schedule and on budget.

The work went fine. There were two laborors and a supervisor. They arrived on time and worked until about 3:30. I still have some sticking valve issues that needed to be addressed but was told that there wasn't enough time that day and I would have to schedule another appointment. As far as I can tell the repairs were done properly, although the brick column they put back together is pretty unprofessional and sloppy-looking. I was shocked to find that I had to pay $50 an hour for each guy there to dig a six-foot hole. $900 in labor. I paid the complete bill with a check which I handed to the supervisor before they left. I had major two problems with this company. When my teenage daughter walked out to the mailbox past the $50/hr laborors and supervisor, the supervisor made a loud, inappropriate comment about her, which scared her and made her extremely uncomfortable. When she told me about it I called the company and complained. The manager I spoke with was very apologetic and told me he would be telling the owner about the incident. Two weeks after the work was done of the owners called me. I thought she was calling to talk about the incident and further apologize. Instead, one of the first things she asked was when I was planning to pay for the services performed. After I told her that I had paid on the day the work was done, she got off the phone pretty quickly. They had cashed my check the day after I gave it to them.

Woman from the company came over and we walked her through what we wanted done as far as landscape refreshing, trimming goes (refreshing worn out mulch, adding more river rock, a little trimming. Was supposed to get back to us with an estimate, but we never heard from them again. Very unprofessional.
