Dean's Sprinkler Service & Landscaping

The job price was less than the quoted price. But part of the job had to be redone. They did it wrong and tore up my lawn twice. While installing the sprinklers, they disconnected the wire to my air conditioning. And they took a half-day longer than planned.

I called Dean's to see if someone could come out and give me an estimate to reroute & repair my sprinkler system. I was told it would be two weeks before I could get an appointment. I told the person who made the appointment that it was difficult for me to miss work and she said she would give me a 3 hour service window, but would schedule me for the first appointment in the morning so I was expecting someone to arrive closer to the 8am end of the 3 hour window. After two weeks I took the morning of my appointment off from work so I could be at home during the 3 hour window I was given. The morning went on and no one showed up to look at my sprinklers. I called Dean's and had to leave a message asking if a tech was coming to m y house. An hour later (and 15 minutes before the end of my 3 hour window) I received a call stating that the tech was running late (obviously) and he would be calling the office in 15 minutes (11am) to let them know when he could make it out to my house. I explained that I was expecting to be the first appointment of the day & I had already taken 3 hours off from work. I was told that I could be scheduled for another afternoon appointment so that I wouldn't have to continue to wait. I wasn't willling to wait another several hours after I had already waited for 2 weeks and 3 hours. I figure if they can't make a 3 hour appointment window after having it scheduled for 2 weeks they don't really want my business. I called Keesan and they were able to get out the next day to look at my sprinklers. Dean's is unprofessional and unreliable - save yourself the hassle and call Keesan or anyone else for that matter.

The last time they came out to winterize the sprinkler system. They showed up on time, got the job done and has all been satisfactory. I will continue to use Dean's Sprinkler Service.

Pablo was on time, professional, and courteous. He knew exactly what he was doing. After closing the water valve in the basement he connected a compressed air hose to the intake outside and then used the sprinkler controller to close all the zones except one, watched until no more water flowed out, and then closed that zone and opened the next. It took about 35 minutes to remove all the water.

My landlord has a contract with this company, and both of us are extremely unhappy with the service. It takes weeks to get an appointment simply to get the sprinklers turned on, and this summer, they had to come back four times to get it right -- and even then, it wasn't done thoroughly. The first time, there was a huge leak which went into the downstairs apartment. The second time, the guy came to look at it, and basically shrugged and said "dunno," telling us if was from a shower or sink. It wasn't. We had to call several times to get someone to come out right away. The third time, the guy did find and fix the leak, but also found some old pipes that were uncapped. He explained that meant gallons of water were pouring into the street. I thought that was odd, but he was the expert, so we paid to get that repaired. Only weeks later did I realize that that valve wasn't even on the list of the valves that were supposed to be on -- which would explain why there was never any water in that area! The fourth time, we had to call yet again because the previous technician had used a circuit that frequently overloaded. Later, when I surveyed the yard, I noticed that several hoses and tubes were unconnected, spewing water into the air or under the weed blocker. Today, when I called to schedule the fall maintenance visit, they informed me that it would be almost two weeks before I could get an appointment and that they had called me already to schedule one -- only they called someone else's number! You'd think that after all this interaction, they'd know the number to call. Nothing is ever easy or efficient with this company.

The job was done very well and the price was great, very pleased with them and would definitely recommend to all.

They were timely in their appointment's. I was satisfied with the work they did ant it was priced well.

They are reliable, honest and on time. It was a good price. They do good customer service and good quality work.

Each time I called they would come out and respond personnally to my questions. I worked with a great crew both inside and outside the office.

They were great and very professional. They did what they said they were going to do. I actually had some places where the sprinklers weren't set up correctly and they took care of it. They did a great job just even with the quote. They explained everything and they were very competitive. I was very pleased with them. The workers were great and they really worked hard. It was a three day job and they got it done when they said they would. They were here when they said they would be here. There were no issues whatsoever.

On 4/6, the guy showed up 45 minutes late. He did call though and warn me of his tardiness which was very much appreciated. He was not able to fix things due to a valve and he didn't have the proper replacement part, wrote on his report that I needed to be rescheduled, however, the company never saw the message and was never rescheduled. I had to leave out of town for a week and when I returned (Sunday evening - they were closed) I left a voicemail asking for this to be fixed immediately. I got a call from the repair person the next day and he came over to my home on his day off of work to get everything fixed (unfortunately his schedule was completely booked over the next month). While this was a little frustrating, I'm glad the repair person was honest and did everything he could to make me a happy customer. Therefore I will give them a B grade, but it could have easily been a D or F. I will do business with them again.

Forgot to turn off my sprinklers and my regular lawn care service was closed for the winter. Called Dean's - they were expensive for a blowout ($115) but I was thrilled to have someone come out so late in the season and I agreed. Technician arrived on time and seemed professional and knowledgeable. Technician said we needed a valve kit for $40, we agreed. When he was leaving, he said all our valves were leaking like crazy and the would need to be "tightened or replaced" in the spring. When my regular lawn company came to turn them on (April 2011) he said that whoever turned them off broke the valve right off and left it sitting on top the unit. Will now cost $125 to repair their work. Dean's broke it and didn't own up. Shame on them! Verify the work before you pay.

There was a cancelation so they got us in in the next week instead of the projected 3 weeks later. Person to do marking of electric, gas and water was late, so crew was a little late starting, although they were there and waiting to start. Work was done in one day, they worked hard and did a good job on the instalation, but things were left messy, we had clean up to do after they left. They broke one of my yards ligjhts during the process, they didn't even offer to pay for it. They had to remove some expensive blubs, which they did carefully, but found a pile of these hidden by my neighbors fence after they told me they had replanted them. I haven't had an opportunity to dig and see if they replanted any of them, and if they were planted right. Went out to do that and ended up doing more clean up I hadn't seen before. 5/17/11 - The bulbs they told me they replanted still haven't come up. I dug around and can't find them, they either lied or planted them too deep. Had to replace them, another $100.00 down the drain to this company, not including my time for digging, shopping and planting. Just thought you should know.

The entire process went very smoothly and professionally.

This is the third time I have used Dean's, plus called them once for help at my in-laws. I will not call anyone else as I trust them. Evevery tech I have worked with with reflects the overall competency and profesionalism of the company.

First of all, they got here quickly, did the work in less than an hour and charged me a fair amount. In fact, I have never gotten that kind of work done for that low price. They were great.

They were great. The person, who did the estimate and sold me the product, was really fantastic. The crew that came out to do the installation work was great as well. I did have a problem with something. So, I called them and they fixed it for me very quickly.

I had this company install a sprinkler system this spring but subsequent customer response has been very poor. Denver water had a $5 rebate on each sprinkler heads but I couldn't get Deans to provide me a copy for the rebate submittal. I called to get me sprinkler system blown out and no one called to tell me they were running late and wouldn't be there in the promised time. It sure did waste my time.

Quote never came. Placed 3 calls over 5 days until someone finally sent me the quote, which was about 50% higher than the next highest quote.

First off, they gave me a wide window (8am - 1pm) of what time to expect their service person. They called the day before and told me I was now on the afternoon (1pm - 6pm) slot. I had to take the entire day off of work which was an inconvenience. When the service man arrived I asked for his recommendations on replacing some heads because I have brown spots in the lawn. He really wasn't much help and ended up doing a single head replacement that I knew I needed from the start. I was disappointed that he didn't offer any suggestions or adjustments. When he completed the job I had to go and turn the system on to ensure the new head was working properly - he didn't offer to do that. Lastly, the $92 is a lot to pay for a service call ($68) and parts ($24).

They did a good job but the first time time they came, they sent someone out who was not very experienced, so I had to schedule another appt for someone else to come out. They ended up cancelling that appointment, but on the 3rd appointment, they finally got the work done and it was a good job.

The salesperson, David, was very professional and explained things and options in detail. The crews that did the work showed up on time and worked hard. The only real setback was the spring snowstorms that delayed installation.

They had excellent service. He was very thorough and explained everything that he was doing for me.

It was a positive experience. They did what they were supposed to in a timely manner & did a good job. The pricing was reasonable for the job.
