Met with Dave to get a quote for the installation one Monday, he started on Wednesday per my request and finished up on Friday. On day one he was onsite for a short time to install some anti crack material (we had bare concrete floors before) to help prevent the seems from cracking underneath the new floors. He also checked to make sure the floor was level and applied another coating to help the new tile adhere to the acrylic coated concrete surface. The product was left to dry overnight. On day two he cut and installed all of the porcelain tiles with the layout we had previously discussed and spaced them all beautifully. The tile was left to dry overnight. On day three he installed the grout that we had picked out from his grout samples the day before. He installed the new baseboards I had bought and painted the evening before. The grout work is flawless and even was done along the baseboards to make it look even cleaner. The baseboards were installed beautifully and I don't even have to touchup the paint on them. Finally he installed the T molding to bridge the new tile and existing hard wood floor together and it looks great. He worked with me in advance to obtain the tile from the store and I was able to pick it up and have it onsite for installation. The setup and cleanup was excellent as our unit is on the 3rd floor with no elevator and the only work space was in the hallway outside. No mess was left anywhere when the work days were complete and he covered our hard wood floors leading in and out of the workspace during the process to protect them. He even put up with the occasional barking as my dogs heard him going in and out while making cuts. His experience and dedication to his craft came through. He was very even paced, not rushing or going slow, but nice a steady. The time spent to get everything just right was a big pay off. We will definitely use him again and have already got a quote from him to do almost 200 square feet of tile in our bathroom.
Description of Work: Installed a new porcelain tile floor in our utility room/closet. Also installed the new base boards and T moulding where the new tile meets our existing hard wood floors. He also helped me acquire the tile at wholesale, which I bought prior to the installation.
