Colorado Cover Co

We wanted 3 window well covers installed today - They sent us a checklist so we could verify, in advance, that their well covers would work for our house - we told them we have no idea what the checklist means or what the issues could be as we've never done this before. They used this checklist as their excuse to try and charge us a $35 trip charge for "predictable issues". How am I supposed to know what "issues" are OK or unacceptable for their product? They do this every day - not me... Prior to visiting, they quoted us over $500 for the 3 wells which we thought was reasonable so we booked the appointment. They showed up, destroyed one of my existing well covers, and then said they couldn't cover our wells with new covers unless we paid them for extra work. We were willing to consider it but asked for a formal quote. They said they'd give us a quote but couldn't do it today so they would require the $35 trip-charge for the visit. When we said no they threatened us with a lean on our house. They did over $100 worth of damage to our existing covers just to tell us they couldn't do the work and then wanted $35 for the trip - and blamed us for not knowing that their product wouldn't work with our existing window wells - again referring us to the "we-told-you-so" checklist that we were supposed to interpret prior to their visit - unbelievable. I'd say - unless you have a perfect window well for their product - you're in for a horrible experience. It remains to be seen if we end up in court with this company over a $35 trip-charge. If that happens - they're getting a bill for the repairs to my existing cover. Skip these people and find someone else!

Prior to the sale I asked lots of questions of the office and asked to see a picture of what the cover looks like. This is a sturdy poly cover. There is a slight amount of metal bracing underneath the poly and against the house. They bring the raw materials close to size based on the measurements you provide and then custom cut quickly on the truck to exactly fit each individual well. (There is a couple of inch overlap over the well this is on purpose). It looks slightly opaque when installed but have no noticeable difference in the light that entered into our basement. Installer arrived as scheduled and was available for a few questions before and after install. Before install they sent a full disclaimer and information sheet explaining all of the ins and outs of the process and the actual installation and require signature on that document before starting work. I was very happy from the start to the finish of the project and I believe their prices to be very competitive.

I was very impressed with how quick the entire process went. When I called in my order after getting an estimate, it only took one week for the covers to be installed. The installer arrived on time and promptly replaced the window well covers and had me review his work. He then explained how to put on the safety/security locks from inside.

Talked on the phone, got the estimate, ordered the work & they did it. The covers look terrific, seem very sturdy, the person on the phone who handled all the timing was friendly and helpful. I never saw anyone, just talked on the phone to get this completed. I'm very pleased and grateful for such expertise.

Called the company, they asked if I had my measurements, told them yes. They arranged a date to come out and install. They arrived on time, installed the window cover and mailed the invoice. Called the next day and paid the invoice over the phone. The whole process was quick and easy!

Very professional, responsive, friendly and efficient. Wish more providers were this good. All aspects of our contacts were excellent, from initial phone call and quote, to adapting to a change we had to make, to the installation, the quality of the covers, and the billing process.

I purchased three window well covers from this company in 1999. Overall, they have functioned as I expected, but they have turned a hideous yellow. One of the window wells has pulled away from the house over the years, as a result of shifting soil. Consequently, the window well cover, which is secured with metal pins, no longer covers the opening correctly. I felt that if the metal pin closures (the security upgrade) were replaced with their standard spring clips and the alignment of clips to edge of window well was repositioned, then the cover would again be functional and fit the well opening reasonably well. Most of all, it would once again be secured properly. The employee on the telephone was very courteous until she heard that the window well had shifted. At that point she refused to schedule a service call for me, claiming that they do not do work on damaged window wells. She even refused to sell me an entirely new cover. She insisted that the metal window well itself needed to be replaced and also insinuated that the builder was responsible (despite the fact that I never mentioned how old my home is). She was lecturing on and on about shifting soil and Colorado warranty liability issues, but never once offered to have a service person come and look at my window well and give a more informed opinion. Although Colorado Cover Co includes a lifetime warranty for their product, apparently they are not too concerned about assessing a repair situation onsite before judging it unrepairable. Consequently, I hung up on her, very disgusted. I contacted one of their competitors and purchased replacement spring clips from that company. My husband, who is quite handy, will install the replacement clips himself.

Spoke with Lori on the phone - very polite and very helpful. Installer did an excellent job!

They are willing to do the measurements for an extra fee. I did receive a discount because I had a coupon book. I felt I received a quality product. I would recommend them to others. However, they are a little higher priced.

This product met my expectations.
