I had an old, leaking valve that fed my irrigation system which allowed water into a pipe that froze and split in my basement. Despite the fact that I had a water leak, it was not an emergency call and Gary was very responsive and flexible in scheduling an appointment. The only negative is that Lou and Matt did not show up within the scheduled window. That's understandable b/c I'm sure my appointment took longer than they anticipated which delayed them for their next appointment. The office called within the window to give me an estimate on their arrival which was nice. After Lou and Matt showed up, Lou was able to quickly determine that the plumbing installation feeding the irrigation system was installed incorrectly -- not enough valves and PVC in lieu of copper on the indoor side. Lou's explanation made sense and at no time did I feel as though he was upselling services. I really appreciate that the office sent two guys on the truck. They did not have the necessary valve sizes with them. Lou was able to start working while Matt went back to the shop for the correct parts which took about an hour. Otherwise, I would have had to schedule a second appointment to get the work done. Plus, the labor rates already have this built in so it is not like you will have to double their rate with two guys on site. The installation only took a couple of hours to re-pipe. Since they had to re-work the water line to the irrigation system during the winter, Lou was able to complete the indoor installation so that I could close up the walls in my finished basement while leaving the outdoor connection prepped and ready to be reconnected to the irrigation system and tested once it warms up. I'll definitely have them out in the spring to re-connect the water line to the irrigation system.

Went very well. Luther did a quick diagnosis of the problem and had it fixed in under an hour. He noticed that the water heater is about 15 years old and should be replaced.

Bill Smith was outstanding! We had a semi-emergency situation with the water heater leaking badly just before Christmas. We turned off the cold water running to the water heater, but it still leaked--floor drain wasn't draining either. Of course, it was a Saturday morning and we were leaving on a very early flight Monday for Christmas vacation out-of-state. Bill Smith was able to get a plumber out within a few hours. Lucky for us, they're open Sat. morning and they were able to get a new water heater from their supply company, and since they were still open didn't charge overtime rates. They also took care of calling in their rotor-rooter guy to clear the plugged-up floor drain. Everything was done neatly & quickly. I highly recommend this company!

The plumbing leak was repaired promptly and steps taken to prevent the problem from recurring, both at a very reasonable price.

It went very well. Prompt service exactly as promised on Christmas Eve day. Gary called and asked if DJ could come early, which was fine with us. DJ fixed the leaky pipe and was gone in about an hour. Very professional, got right down to business, cleaned up and left. Will definitely use again when needed. Added a shutoff valve for sprinkler system in crawl space.

It went well. I called them on a Sunday and left a message as they aren't open on Sundays. A technician was out on the next day. I was impressed with him. While the water heater was under warranty by Sears, I had them come out twice because the pilot was periodically going out. The guys that Sears sent out seemed very inexperienced. They were essentially just following the troubleshooting guide in the owners manual verbatim. The one guy was one the phone with his home shop the whole time (clearly being trained). They gave me far-fetched explanations for the pilot light going out: One explanation was that, since the cat's litter box was in the same room as the water heater, and the sensor on the water heater was mistaking the fumes from the cat's urine as a flammable vapor and consequently causing the pilot to go out. We moved the litter box, and the pilot kept going out periodically. I did talk to Sears before calling Bill's, and they said that the soonest that they could get a guy out to look at it was in 12 days. Back to Bill's Plumbing. The technician that they sent out, coincidentally named Bill (not Bill Smith) was a stark contrast to the technicians that Sears had sent out. Clearly much more experienced. With just a brief description of the problem, he immediately zoned in on the root cause of the problem, and replaced a single component which resolved the issue and we had hot water once again. I believe that they did mark up the cost of the part, a "powerpile generator." A quick Internet search shows that prices for this part range between 28 and 64 dollars. They charged $96.39 for it. Having said that, I suspect that the other plumbing shops out there mark up their parts as well. Bill's was timely, experienced, and professional. I also spoke with Roy at the home shop, and he was very informative, taking the time to explain everything in detail and answer questions. Overall, I'm happy with the service that Bill's provided and will do business with them again in the future.

Very polite and friendly. Squeezed me in on the eve before Thanksgiving. It was a tough clog. Finally got it running. Ran for a while and then it got plugged again the next day.(Thanksgiving). I called the next day and he sent someone out again to clear it, no charge. Next person also polite and friendly. They cleaned up after themselves as well which is nice.

Courteous and professional on the phone. Had availability soon after I called. Came within the agreed window of time. Quick service, professional demeanor. Price didn't strike us as a bargain, but reasonable and not unexpected.

They fixed a toilet flushing (mechanical) issue and cleared out a drain so washing wouldn't machine backup into sink. A younger plumber first came out and, while very conscientious, I had to call back. Second team came super quickly, saw the issue and fixed it right away. I've used them before and will use them again. Nobody's perfect.

The company called two days early with an available cancellation time that was convenient for me and finished repairs quickly and neatly. Not cheap, but very reasonable.

It was okay. He was very friendly, nice and helpful. I was just surprised by how much it costed but may be that is just plumbing. I think they were right on time.

Tightened the valve underneath the kitchen sink, it didn't need replacing. Installed a new garbage disposal that was leaking. Service went very well and was quick.

These guys are great, and very professional. Came out to estimate the job, and when a pipe we originally intended on fixing was found to be unused after a remodel they removed it and adjusted the price. Very honest, great people! Thanks!!

We had a very slow leak but we couldn't pinpoint the source. Dan repaired the leak on the tubular under the sink and replaced the shut-off valve for the dishwasher. So far, no new moisture under the sink. Dan ensured that all possible sources of the leak were tightened before he left. I contacted them again today, I initially spoke with Donna who put me in touch with Gary Wood. I explained that I was interested in getting an estimate for a tankless water heater. The first thing I was told by Gary was that we do not install that type of water heater and that they are costly, not really any better than a tank one and difficult to install and maintain. I have done a fair bit of research myself and I am aware that they can be difficult to install and maintain but I also learned that if they are professionally installed the likelihood of having a bad experience with one is greatly reduced. I find it very disconcerting that a plumber who is on here and advertises on there own website that they install and sell tankless water heaters would have this to say to a potential customer. I still am interested in finding out more about the possibility of a tankless water heater but after this experience I believe I will explore Angie's list a bit further to find another plumber who will at least discuss my options with me.

Plumbing repair on a running toilet / great job!

We bought a big deal offer for $119 for $200 worth of service. I needed 18 inches of black pipe installed for natural gas. They took over 1 week to get a hold of me, so I called. They then sent a fellow over to do an estimate, and they promised an estimate the next day (which never came). After a few weeks, I called. The fellow got on the phone and said the estimate would be over $400, which I felt was at least twice what it would cost. I did the work myself in 2 hours.

Shorten and recap an existing gas line in the kitchen. Confirmed all gas appliances prior to starting work, shut them off and then re-lit pilot lights after completing plumbing work

We were able to schedule promptly. Our plumber, Gary, called and told us he was ahead of schedule and would it be ok to come early? Nice surprise. He arrived when promised, cleaned the washer drain and then we had him do a "just to be safe" clean out of the main line. He was very courteous and cleaned up everything.
